Description: An apartment complex in downtown Gotham City has caught on fire. The fire has already spread throughout half of the complex. Heroes are to save civilians caught in the complex and catch the assailant(NPC).

Chapter 1:

Chapter 2: One Step Closer

After defeating the thugs and pocketing the green rock, Batman continues moving through the skies towards his lair. This rock had some value to it, but what exactly? He hadn't heard much about it and didn't expect to from cronies. Someone had hired them to do it, but who? He needed more time to investigate the stone but time wasn't on his side in the streets of Gothm NBVille. Crime never ceased and almost on cue Alfred radioed in.

"Master Wayne, it seems the rock ( Kryptonite you called it? ) gives off rather high amounts of radiation. I've cross referenced through your mineralogy books and there's nothing here in regards to it, sir. Perhaps it is a foreign substance. I suggest taking great care with that as there is still much we don't know yet."

"Hmm. Did the reports about it being at the edge of town check out?"

"Yes, Master Wayne. I searched for other traces of radiation to see if I could find matches and there was a meteor to have landed recently. However, it seems to have burned into dust entering the atmosphere. Those samples you scanned have a higher concentration than there."

"I figured as much. I'm on my way back to analyze it now to fin-"

Stopping abruptly in his words, Batman noticed a large building on fire to his left.

"Dammit, cancel that. There's a building on fire and likely people inside it. I'll be there shortly"

Shifting course Batman ran a current through his cape, causing it to harden as he glided towards the building.

Landing on a building near the burning one, Batman activated his sonar vision to see if he could detect anyone inside the building.

"1...2...3 people inside the building on the top floor. The bottom two floors have collapsed; its a wonder how the rest haven't. If I get inside, I can freeze the metal infrastructure and slow the collapse of the building itself while I get the people out..."

Climbing down the side of the building he was on, Batman looked across t the burning building, locating awindow and used his sonar vision to see a building on the other side of it. Making sure that the path was clear, Batman shoots his grappling gun through one o the windows of the burning building, causing it to fire through the building and exit another window and attach to the wall of the building on the other side. Pulling himself forward, Batman smashes through the rest of the window, launching severa freeze grenades as he passes through it, aiming at the walls and floor to the building. As he exits, the grenades go off but instead of causing concussive force, cold waves are expelled, freezing the walls and floor near instantly in thick chunks of ice.

Knowing they wont last long, Batman shoots his grappling gun towards the wall again, this time aimed at the roof of the building. As he gets pulled up, he swings forward, crashing through the window of the top floor. Near the first person, he sees them choking due to the smoke and draws his rebreather to hand to him as he throws him over his shoulder, rushing back towards the window. Shooting a line towards the ground, Batman wraps a rope around the man's waist and attaches him to the rope, causing him to slide down it towards the earth before turning around and rushing towards the next body he saw.

Repeating this twice Batman managed to gt all the people out of the building as he prepared to exit, before seeing another figure with his Sonar vision rushing from the building roof, leaping to another. Running and diving out a window, Batman fires his grappling device towards the roof's building and pulls himself up as he sees the man running towards him, intercepting his path.

"You started this fire, didn't you?"

"Ain't it a beaut," Hot Streak said, his body covered in the flames produced from his body. He stepped forward towards Bruce, looking around and admiring his destructive handiwork. "Ain't nothing can do what fire does." Almost in cue with his words, several beams of wood fell from the ceiling beside them, causing Streak's smirk to grow. "The pure destruction," he growls, raising his arms dramatically, the flames enunciating his red and yellow hair as it flows in the plume as though it too were made of fire. "At first I thought you were gonna help. You know, since you're dressed like a freak and all. But then I saw the ice...you must be the cavalry!" He thrusts his arms out, releasing from his body a tremendous wave of heat. The intense wave would disorient the man dressed like a giant bat, inducing grogginess and drowsiness as it possibly damages the equipment on his suit.

Description: One of Hot Streak's signature techniques, he will thrust out his arms and release from his body an omnidirectional wave of heat, causing anyone caught inside to become disoriented and groggy due to the intense heat. The heat wave is naturally invisible to the naked eye, but causes visible distortion. While the wave does no direct damage or harm, it induces drowsiness and can lead to those caught inside to fall asleep under prolonged exposure. It can also cause mechanical equipment to overheat and malfunction under prolonged usage(Two turns for failure and inducing sleep). Hot Streak must however stay still and sustain the heat wave or it will stop resonating

As the man sticks his hands out, Batman instictively reacts by throwing several smoke pellets down as he flips to the side. While flipping, he becomes aware of extreme heat affecting him. Though he doesn't become fatigued as quickly or lose balance, he notes the high temperatures and reasons it to be the result of the man holding his arm out, apparently releasing waves. Under guise of the smoke, Batman throws several freeze grenades from low, hitting in front of the man and instantly chilling him and lowering his body temperature (possibly freezing his flames??). As this is done, Batman throws several batarangs aimed at the man's legs, aiming to cut through his calf muscles to cause him to fall to his knees as the freeze grenade's effects take hold.

Description: Although seemingly unremarkable in appearance, the utility belt is one of Batman's most important tools in fighting crime. Consisting primarily of a strap and buckle, the utility belt houses ten pouches or cylindrical cartridges that are attached to the outside of the belt. The buckle itself typically contains a miniature camera and a tape recorder. A secondary compartment behind the length of the belt houses Batman's supply of Batarangs. Each of the ten pouches or cylinders contains various tools integral to Batman's war on crime, with the cylinders being interchangeable with each other. Through the years, Batman has modified the contents of his belt to accommodate various crime-fighting scenarios. The belt is shown to be able to electrocute any villain who even touches it. It can also release stun gas to prevent tampering. The belt's compartments are locked and only Batman knows how to open them. While it does not hold Batman's more advanced tools, it houses all his basic utilities such as:

  • Grapple Gun - for ascension of buildings at high speeds, to boost gliding ability, disarming criminals from a distance and opening up heavy doors.
  • Line Launcher - Fires a parallel line in opposite directions to accelerate over distant obstacles or tightrope walk across silently.
  • 10 Basic Batarang - for disabling thugs, opening doors or destroying things. (deals 10 damage each hit)
    [*]Freeze Grenades - disables thugs by freezing them in place or creating floating ice for Batman to safely navigate bodies of water
  • Disruptor - Disables mines and various firearms.
  • Cryptographic Sequencer - Computer and communicator allowing Batman to hack into various systems and open various electronically locked doors.
  • Explosive gel - Allows Batman to spray stable explosive and demolish obstacles and walls and destroy hazardous materials. (deals 20 damage per use)
    [*]Smoke pellets - create a cloud of smoke when thrown to mask Batman's presence to sneak up on armed opponents.
  • EMP gun: Used to disable any electrical equipment.
  • Remote claw: This gadget is used to join two objects and pull them together. It works by firing a projectile out which hooks onto an object. The projectile then launches a rope-attached claw, which attaches to a second object. Once both are connected, they are pulled together. Batman can use this to knock enemies together, slam heavy objects into foes, or string objects up
Note: The user can only use two of these items per turn, meaning if he chooses to throw Batarangs, he can only use one other item that turn.
Note: Can only be used by Batman and those who are his Apprentices.
Note: Most of these items can only be used outside of battle, with the obvious exceptions.

Seeing the man toss what appears to be a few round objects to the ground as he releases the heat wave, Hot Streak is surprised to see a large cloud of smoke rise up in front of them. "Cheap tricks like that ain't gonna save you from me, hombre," he says condescendingly. Suddenly, a few strange-shaped objects were thrown from the smoke, lodged directly under him. Hot Streak's eyebrows raised. Not wanting to take the chance, he releases from his body an aura of fire that stretches two feet from his body. The ice explodes and surrounds him but clashes with the fire coming from his body, melting it away. "Come on! You don't got nothing better than that!" he yells, sending a giant flamethrower-like blast into the ground, blowing it away and causing the man to fall into the flaming hole below.

Description: Hot Streak will surround his body with a burst of flame, creating an "armor" of powerful flames that spread up to two feet from his body. These flames have almost a solid component to them, generating intense amounts of heat. Should Hot Streak punch or kick at an opponent, the presence of the flames allow for the damage to come from his Energy stat rather than his Strength stat.

As they man super heats himself to burn the incoming ice grenades and melt them, Batman gets an idea. Still under cover of the smoke pellets and throwing more as he jumped in the air, he sends a current through his cape to glide above, creating a bigger cloud of cover as his sonar vision noted his opponent releasing a massive burst of fire towards where he was just at. The sound of the fire and the magnitude of it would mask his own movement. As he glides above the man, Batman throws his entire collection of Ice grenades at the man. Knowing the ice would be melted, the mass amount of them would cause a large amount of water to fall down on the man, dousing the flames and coating him in water. Knowing this to be a short fix, as the water douses him, Batman had already began to dive down, and slams his charged hand into the mans shoulder, causing paralysis as the water adds to the current, causing him to pass out.

Description: The Batsuit is made of hardened kevlar plates on titanium-dipped tri-weave fibers and is broken into multiple pieces of armor over a more flexible bodysuit for greater mobility. But as a trade-off, the flexible armor leaves Batman more vulnerable to injury from knives and gunfire in favor of increased flexibility and lighter weight. The Batsuit's cowl is a separate component inspired by the design of motorcycle helmets, allowing the wearer to freely swivel and move his neck without moving the rest of his upper torso. The armor is then coated with a black latex material for camouflage and to dampen Bruce's heat signature, making him difficult to detect with night-vision equipment. Made of a graphite material, the cowl acts as a protective helmet. Also, a strong electric current runs through it that prevents anyone except Batman from removing it to further protect his identity. The 3 blades on the sides of Batman's gauntlets are now retractable and are capable of firing outwards as projectiles. The gauntlets contain not only Batman's signature spiked blades but also a hardened mini computer and remote for his vehicles, once gained. An advanced eavesdropping device is concealed within the cowl's right ear and enables Batman to listen in on conversations from a distance. Batman's cape is made of "memory cloth", it is essentially flexible in its normal state, but becomes semi-rigid in a fixed form (Batman's wings) when an electric current is passed through it from the microcircuits in the palms of his gloves. has the ability to fold into a backpack shape, if needed. The Batsuit also has "sonar-vision", where signals emitted by mobile phones are converted into images in a similar way to echolocation, in which bats use sound to see. In order to view the images, lenses fold down from Batman's cowl to cover his eyes.

Note: Due to the hardened Kevlar, the armor grants Batman a Durability boost of +10 as well as +5 to speed and +5 to Strength.
Note: Sonar Vision can be activated passively but lasts only 4 turns max each usage with a 3 turn charging period.
Note: The electric current causes small damage, just enough to force an opponent back 5 meters max doesn't cause significant damage. Those with Durability of higher than 50 but lower than 80 are forced back a meter max, those with Durability lower than 20 are blasted into Mid range. Durability of higher than 80 only causes temporary paralysis.
Note: Projectiles from gauntlets deal 10 damage.

Hot Streak laughed maniacally as the stream of fire launched ahead, unaware that Batman had launched himself up into the air due to the immense size and sound of the fire. Suddenly, a mass of water fell on him, dousing the flames surrounding his body. "What the-?" He looked up and saw Batman diving down towards him, spurring him to launch fire from his feet and launching him in the other direction, stopping right near the edge of the hole he had just made.

Description: Hot Streak will release large streams of fire from his hands, feet, or both, allowing him to propel himself for as long as he sustains the flames, allowing him to potentially replicate flight by propelling himself like a rocket.

As he lands and Batman lands on the ground, Hot Streak makes a spear of fire and throws it towards him, piercing him in the chest and setting him aflame.


Technique Name: Shout Out Fire Fist Ace

Description: Hot Streak will create a spear of fire from his dominant arm and throw it towards his opponent. Should it pierce their body, it will expands, engulfing the target in flames.

As Batman dives down to try to impact the man after the water douses him, the man dives backwards, using flames as a form of propulsion device. His freefall almost done and being close to the earth, Batman throws more smoke pellets down to mask their sights again as he also fires his line launcher at the man, grabbing his chest through the smoke as he sends an electrical current through it to electrocute him.

As smoke cloud erupts, Hot Streak curses out loud, tired of the freak's constant attempts to hide himself. "Why don't you show yourself?" he yells out. As he does, something comes rushing out of the smoke cloud. Looking like a black rope of sorts, Hot Streak simply waves his hand through the air, releasing a small arc of fire that deflects the line before it could strike him in the chest. Technique Name: This Arc is Fire Show EXP: 10 Type: Energy Rank: C Description: A simple move, Hot Streak will wave his arm to release a small crescent-shaped arc of fire. The blast isn't very powerful, being most useful in deflecting small projectiles or distracting/stunning enemies while they're in close range "Come out and fight like a real man you freak!"

As discussed, due to us both being in the smoke, I wouldn't see the cable and wouldn't be able to hear it due to the fire. Congratulations
