The Arkham Knight donned a militaristic armour that was made to ridicule the appearance of other heroes and costumed individuals. The inside of his helmet and the tactical visor that covered it gave him a heads up display of his troops throughout Gotham and the ears relayed his commands to his troops. The visor also appeared to garble his voice as his main means of concealing his identity. By using the Arkham symbol on his chest plate, he inflicted psychological warfare on Batman, which reminded him of the past Arkham events. The chest plate also acted as a countermeasure to the certain attacks in combat situations.
Personality:
The Arkham Knight seemed vengeful, but patient and calculating as well. He seemed to exploit opportunities as they were presented to him. He also seemed psychopathic, and displayed no regard for the "weak" that heroes protected, and was contemptuous of the many heroes' principles and mercilessly killed those he deemed deserving, such as crime bosses and remaining members of gangs, in cold blood. When one of his associates asked him why he hated other heroes to such a degree, the Knight coldly responded that no one could understand.

Origin Type: Natural
Origin Story: The Arkham Knight was originally Jason Todd, the second person to take the mantle of Robin after a man who eventually abandoned it. He was thought to have been killed by a notorious psychopath. Jason had always possessed an explosive temper with numerous incidents of him going too far in his actions as a hero, despite his natural talents and aptitude under the guidance of other heroes and their example, with hints in his behavior that he might one day kill instead of using restraint.
One day, according to a City Story, it was heavily implied that an infamous criminal blew up a school house of children, and that was the moment that Jason decided that they needed to die. Jason turned off his com link and tracer and tracked the killer to an underground abandoned wing of an asylum. As Jason entered the area, he was instantly trapped by the man's thugs who immediately attacked him. Jason put up a fight but was overwhelmed, beaten and knocked unconscious. Jason was captured by the murderer, who kept him alive, and tortured him both physically and psychologically through the many "games" that he came up with. These included beating him with a crowbar, and branding his face with a branding iron shaped like the letter "J."
He continued to do inhumane things to Jason for over a year, during this time his allies continued searching for Jason but with no success, they eventually gave up. Meanwhile, the criminal was successful in breaking Jason, finally convincing him that heroes at large were the enemy. When recorded an interview with Jason showing that he had broken him (with Todd going so far as to almost reveal his mentor's secret identity), he then shot him in the chest and stated that he didn't like "tattletales". The video was sent to Jason's comrades who now presumed that Jason was dead after seeing him get shot.
The killer, thinking that Jason was dead, looked at his body, mocked him and then left Jason's body to rot, never to return. Jason survived the shot because his body armor protected him from the bullet. Jason regained consciousness, badly wounded, snapped. After he believed that nobody would ever kill such people willingly, despite the fact that he had murdered too many people, and feeling both abandoned and replaced, Jason broke psychologically. All he could think from that point was that, no matter whom, heroes, villains...they all had to die.
History: Jason Todd was the child of Willis and Catherine Todd, being raised in a corrupt and evil area of his home city. His father was a petty crook who ended up serving a prison sentence, and even after the sentence was served, his father did not return to the family. That left Jason alone with his drug addicted mother, who he tried to take care of by ripping off car parts such as tires for cash. Sadly, his mother would soon die of an overdose and he would be left alone. He fended for himself just as he had taken care of his mother before, by continuing to rip off car parts.
