Mission Name: Baneful Presence
Alignment: Hero
Type: Custom | Co-Op
Rank: B
Description: Clark, under his new and exhilerating persona of Superman suddenly picks up on the scrambled panic signals of a NBSSC (NB Space & Sciences Center xD) satellite falling from orbit. Superman is forced to intercept and save the lives of the astronauts on board. But there was a darker secret to the satellite, and the astronauts' job aboard it; to collect and research special shards of radioacive crystals said to be scattering from a star cluster mere 5 light years away. The shards are said to hold immense energy/data storage capacity and the radiation they emit don't seem to bother humans in the slightest. But Clark soon finds out that these shards aren't just your regular scientific breakthrough discovery, these shards are Green Kryptonite, packing enough K-radiation per shard to take him out. He has to get rid of this one of his ultimate weaknesses, and he also has to find out who authorized the mission and if they had somehow managed to stow any back on PlanetNB, for if they have...it would mean the end of his short lived career.

Part 1: Fall from Grace

He took a day off today. Told the editor he had caught the flu, that he'd be out cold for the weekend. But truth be told just wanted to spend more time in his kryptonian themed suit. He learned a lot of things so far, such as his dependence on the sun and the abilities it seemed to be giving him. If only he knew why he had even been given all these abilities, and just where in this galaxy his story originated. His PlanetNB dad was quite adamant on leaving the past behind, and refused to talk about the day Clark fell from the sky and destroyed his entire corn field. Sometimes Clark found himself going out to the corn field at nights and looking up at the stars, imagining supernovae, black holes, and all the other glories of space happening simultaneously, and invisibly. And every night he'd ask question no one could answer: where does he belong in this universe? And where did he come from?

But now he belonged to the sky, soaring over the PlanetNB, keeping vigilance on this his first weekend as a full time superhero. Every now and then he would tune his senses, try and listen in on any trouble, but most were minor stuff that didn't require drastic superhero attention. However, there had been a constant stream of signals coming from above him, and above the PlanetNB. He had assumed them to be mere cosmic radiation but suddenly a voice assumed itself from the chaotic static;

"This is NBSSC Station 3, we are losing altitude, failure on all starboard engines. Impact in twenty minutes! I repeat, impact in twenty minutes!" came a panicked, female voice. Even though it sounded scared, the voice remained professional and began detailing log entries just in case the station should crash so that the exact reason could be deduced and future lives could be saved.

A transmission of the same frequency radioed from below, he had the right angle to eavesdrop, "This is NBSSC HQ, we copy your situation, but we have no methods of rescuing you and the team, Station 3. At the least set your bearing to a major ocean and avoid parking on any civilian areas. Good luck, and may God help you. HQ out."

"Damn, damn, damn, damn! We're on our own up here, the NBSSC pretty much told us we're ****ed!"

Clark tuned his eyes and looked beyond the atmospheres of PlanetNB. Sure enough, a falling satellite had begun its flaming reentry. It was a fairly large station, and its pieces flaked away like dandruff under the immense friction colliding with the atmosphere. He shot off toward the falling satellite with speeds far surpassing any known vehicle.

(The people first, then the wreckage)

Clark circled the falling metallic meteor and found a service hatch on its side. He ripped the metal and tossed it into nowhere. Inside he saw a team of five people, huddled up inside the command room trying desperately to bring the structure to bearing. A woman, no doubt the one who initiated the distress call, had her teeth gritted as she tore at the controls. The sound of a raging atmosphere roared around them.

"Listen to me, this thing is going to kill you all, you need to abandon ship!" Clark yelled above the rushing air.

"Negative on abort, stasis impact bubbles are located south wing, we have no way of getting to that now. And how did you--"

"No time to explain, I'll get you those stasis bubbles."

Clark removed himself from the command room and found the rapidly deforming south wing, its metal had already began crumpling under the heat and pressure. Sure enough, five stasis bubbles were latched on to mechanical arms. He had to carry them all back to the north wing two at a time.

(Ten minutes left, move faster!)

As soon as all the crew were locked away in translucent, bubbly spheres, Clark got to the harder part of the day: stopping the satellite. He removed the stasis bubbles from the command room and had them hobbled around him as they all plummeted toward the ground at near supersonic speeds.

"We have precious cargo aboard that station in the research lab, cargo that could make a helluva difference in the technology field!" called the female astronaut from her bubble.

"More difference than your life?"

"Exactly."

Clark plowed through the center of the station and retrieved a lead suitcase.

(Five minutes!)

The ground came rushing up on them as a vast, orange landscape. Most likely a desert. One of the astronauts whimpered in his stasis bubble. Clark was slowly quickly running out of options, the station's fall was inevitable no doubt, but the survival of these people? He wasn't so sure anymore. He tried retarding its momentum with his own strength but it barely slowed enough. Maybe if he had done it from earlier...but to hell with that now.

"Oh God, we're gonna die!"

"Relax. No one's gonna--"

The ground slammed into them.

A storm of dust and debris rocked the vast desert and sent shock waves in every direction for miles. When it all cleared the massive Station 3 laid shattered into a million pieces ranging in size from pebbles to houses. Underneath it were six bodies.

The hull, already stressed from unannounced reentry, moaned as Clark's immense strength prevented a section from falling on the five astronauts who's stasis bubbles had just reached its maximum limit. The five of them spilled from the blue balls like the yolks of eggs. The twenty meter wide and five meter crater steamed.

One of the astronauts removed his helmet and caressed his own face, "I'm...alive?"

The metal groaned once more, Clark was visibly having a hard time keeping it up. "Not much longer if you sit there like ducks."

The five of them scrambled out the crater, feet shaking wildly from weeks of micro gravity. Clark allowed the structure to fall on him then. They gasped in horror before he punched through the 'roof' and came floating down to them.

"Congrats, you've just broken at least twenty Guiness NB World Records with that fall."

"What are you, sir?"

"Superman, at your service."

"You saved my life here today, I don't think I could ever thank you."

"Well, you could start by telling me why you'd risk your life for that case." He pointed at the dark grey case held tight in her clutches. He frowned at the fact that he couldn't see past its exterior, it must be lead, one of the few materials that could scatter X-rays.

"It's top secret." She instinctively held it closer to her body.

His brow arced, "I thought you were thinking of a way to thank me?"

Another of the astronauts, the one who had screamed he was about to die, placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed. He didn't need to say much. Not that he could anyway, his larynx had been damaged from all the screaming he preceded with when the ground shot up in their faces.

"We, NBSSC, recently picked up traces of a unique form of radiation coming from a neighboring cluster of stars. At first we thought it was the remnants of a supernova long gone, but we found that it had no readings associated with our codex so we thought it was maybe a new cosmic phenomena." She looked at the case intently. "Then we saw that this radiation had shape, matter, and was actually shards of crystals. In our little time of research we've found these crystals to be highly radioactive and had many other properties we've never seen on PlanetNB crystals before."

"Interesting indeed, but what caused your station to suddenly fall from grace?"

"We began tampering with the crystals, experimenting how much energy they could absorb, relay, or even store. It was a stupid move I admit, and it would've cost us our lives had it not been for you."

"Sounds like some sort of almighty object if you asked me. May I see it?"

She hesitated at first and then entered a 12-digit pin on the box's side along with fingerprint readings and voice confirmation from all five astronauts.

A beam of sunlight broke the clouds behind him and shone down on the box with drooling grace as if to reveal something precious. It was after the box opened that he realized the sunlight was green, and that it wasn't sunlight at all, but the light being emitted from the crystals.

Suddenly he felt sick, weak in the legs, and the urge to move away. He fell to a knee and held up his hand as if crying for mercy, "Wha-what is that?! Take it away from me, now." A trickle of blood left his nostril.

(What is this feeling? Could this be the cold hand of death?)

Bewildered, the woman closed the box with a loud metallic sound. The locking mechanisms began working on the box's interior, securing it again. "But these radiations are harmless to humans...?"

"Well you learned something today," he said as he wiped the blood away. It was the first time in his life that he'd seen his own blood, let along got damaged so badly. "I'm not human. But before you ask, I don't know what I am either."

"I'm so sorry! I didn't know, I'll move it away at once." She placed the box a full fifteen feet away.

He energy returned him slowly, he painfully stood up and grimaced as the pain riveted his bones. After a while the sunlight began healing him and he felt somewhat normal again. "It's not your fault. I need a favor, place one of those shards in a smaller lead casing, I need to research it."

"Sure, but I can't let them know that I did, okay?"

"You can't let them know I was even here. Speaking of which, who are they?"

"The NBSSC, of course."

"Do they have any more of these...things with them?"

"Oh hell yeah, tons, actually. We've been studying them for about ten years now."

Something shot through his chest as she said this. It wasn't pain from the strange green crystal this time, it was fear.

"In that case, I'll need one last favor from you..."

Techs Used:
Technique Name: Keenness of Senses
EXP: 5
Type: Mutant
Rank: D
Description: With his Kryptonian physiology Clark is able to see and hear even above superhuman. In addition to a higher perception:reaction quotient, Clark is able to see other waves of the Electro Magnetic Spectrum such as UV, Gamma, and even Microwaves up to long ranged. He is also able to hear varying frequencies such as radio and telephone calls up to long ranged. He cab only listen however and can't reply or talk on these frequencies. He is also able to feel the slightest of tremors on ground and distortions in the air such sound or delicate air pressure changes. His Intelligence increases by +5 because of this.

Note: Passive

Technique Name: Godspeed
EXP: 10
Type: Mutant
Rank: C
Description: Using his superhuman physiology, Clark is able to reach great speed. By pushing from the ground in either a run or flight Clark can reach incredible speeds only appearing as a blue and red blur to mundane eyes. This ability grants him a boost of +5 Speed. While using Godspeed Clark is unable to use any of his other superpowers however as all his focus is on this otherworldly speed and keeping himself from wrecking stuff.

Technique Name: Radiative Vision
EXP: 10
Type: Mutant
Rank: C
Description: By harvesting his stored Solar Energy Clark can emit focused beams of radiation from his pupils that, with enough concentration can be used offensively and in a supplementary manner. In the offensive way Clark can fire beams of high energy lasers at his targets that can reach up to mid ranged. These beams aren't really dangerous, they can deliver 2nd degree burns to regular human skin, after sustained contact and melt traditional metals like Iron and Copper. If left trained on a target these lasers can become quite dangerous. For more "strategic" uses Clark can also tone down the radiation to provide X-Ray Vision. With this he can see through people and objects up to short range. The X-Ray doesn't hurt people or things.

Note: Laser Vision aspect costs a move while X-Ray can be used passively for a max of 3 turns per use. After which it takes 2 turn to recharge.

Technique Name: Solar Energy Transmutation

EXP: 20
Type: Mutant
Rank: B
Description A unique ability seen in Kryptonians, is the act of absorbing/processing radiation, especially that of stars. Clark carries this ability with him at all times and passively stores solar energy from the orange sun of PlanetNB within himself. He is also able to harvest the radiation of Blue Star should he venture beyond PlanetNB but not that of a Red Star. By passively absorbing solar radiation Clark is able to turn that energy into many other forms for his other superpowers, and can even use it to sustain himself--much like how humans eat food to stay 'alive'. Clark may also fly absorb extra solar radiation and to heal himself of any injuries someone might have inflicted. The passive ability of Solar Energy Transmutation grants Clark the following abilities (which are also passive);

Flight: Clark is able to lift his body from the chains of gravity with something that can only be described as will. He can fly at blinding speeds or just hover when stationary. His flight speed is correspondent with his (Speed) attribute.

Durability: Due to constantly having solar radiation within and his Kryptonian physiology, Clark has an immensely durable body. Able to fall from orbit unharmed. Being an alien and all he also has the ability to survive in the vacuum of space by converting solar energy for sustenance. His durability is corresppndent with his (Durability) attribute, following the normal Damage rules.

Even though Superman is able to absorb various forms of radiation not all are ideal for his body. Namely the radiation of a Red Sun or green Kryptonite. If green Kryptonite is brought within short range Clark he begins to feel immediate effects which begin dropping his stats until they are zero, essentially turning him into a regular man. And if Clark even goes into the same region as a Red Star he begins to be stripped of his powers. He has recognized the radiative patters of these his weaknesses however, and can spot them with his radiative vision if he has reason to be suspicious. He has a resistance of 1:1 to Radiation type attacks, with the exception of those mentioned, instead of a 1:0,5 as usual.

Note: Healing can only heal +5 to Durability per turn and cannot heal above 50 in a battle.

Chapter 3: Destined Paths

Having defeated the man who started the fire, Batman turned his attention back towards the Wayne Manor, gliding towards it. He had intended to continue researching the crystals when Alfred radioed in.

"Master Wayne? It seems I found another trace of that same radiation that the stone had contained. I've sent the coordinates just now, a satellite seemed to have crashed in the vicinity near it. If it's truly something not from this planet -"

"Then it's a possibility it was the cause of the satellite going down. Hack into the NBSSC radio transmissions and see if you can find any incoming telecommunications calls from the downed satellite. I'm head that way to investigate.

As he traveled, Batman's mind raced; there were several things that he had to piece together. First time he heard about this mysterious stone was from low life criminals, working on orders from someone. Then they said it was from a fallen meteor and now a downed satellite and more traces? He needed to find out what exactly he was dealing with.

As he traveled, Alfred sent the radio dispatch call to his transmitter.

"This is NBSSC Station 3, we are losing altitude, failure on all starboard engines. Impact in twenty minutes! I repeat, impact in twenty minutes!"

A woman's voice, scared but calm. She was probably the captain on board.

"This is NBSSC HQ, we copy your situation, but we have no methods of rescuing you and the team, Station 3. At the least set your bearing to a major ocean and avoid parking on any civilian areas. Good luck, and may God help you. HQ out."

Something wasn't adding up; he had known the locations of all the satellites that orbitted NBVille and Alfred sent the location of the crash site. The NBSSC had told them to set bearings for the ocean, yet they crashed over 50 miles away outside of the city. Was their course guided by something? If the engines had blew, then it was a chance that they couldn't redirect it in time but 20 minutes to impact while entering the atmosphere would mean they were moving at several hundred miles an hour. Even slightly adjusting the course would make a large difference so what caused them to land so far off? It seemed he had more to research than just the gems.

Arriving at the scene, he saw metal scattered across the area with a giant hole in the center. "This must be the the impact area," Batman reasoned as he noted the skidding marks across the ground.

"20 meters....given the size of the crater and the skid marks, they had to be coming in at at least supersonic speeds. There are pods here but where are the people...."

Activating his Sonar Vision to look into the ship's remains to see if bodies were inside, he is relieved to see there are no bodies laying inside but also becomes aware of a figure nearby.

"Do you plan on hiding and getting beat later or showing your face and saving me the trouble of finding out who you are?"

Riley--the name of the female astronaut--had told him quite a lot about this dodgy NBSSC. Firstly of how they planned on harvesting and patenting the green crystals so that no other organisation could profit from it, and secondly about how they planned on introducing it to the public on a massive scale: green crystal cups, green crystal reading glasses, even green crystal weapons. Clark couldn't allow this to happen, for if it did it would mean the end of him. That and he needed to find out who was authorizing this. His plan: wait and see who would investigate the wreckage.

He waited for quite some time before spotting a dark figure break the horizon, the cape and cowl relayed an enigmatic figure and the way it walked on to the scene...

"Do you plan on hiding and getting beat later or showing your face and saving me the trouble of finding out who you are?"

Not one to hide in the shadows or keep anything secret, Clark floated down to the figure after getting up from a large piece of curved satellite debris.

Having heard his transmission to some unknown person on the other end of the line, Clark assumed the worst for this man, "You must be associated with the NBSSC. Come to survey your failure? The people survived by the way, in case you were feeling disappointed."

Clark summed him up real quick with a superhuman eye; his physique was at its peak, and his body was decorated with various forms of electronics. Not to mention that lead cowl, it was impossible to see his face, his true face. He appeared to be quite the athlete, and that costume, that bat insignia in the middle of his chest. Even his heart rate was regular but strong, as if it was being controlled, maintained. He must be an adept at martial arts--and meditation. A ninja? Just who was this man? And who's side was he on?

Clark's feet hovered about 5 meters off the ground, he looks down on the man as he speaks, he doesn't even have to project his voice, the vast silence of the desert made sure of that.

Facing the man, Batman watched him as he began to float down towards him as he spoke.

"You must be associated with the NBSSC. Come to survey your failure? The people survived by the way, in case you were feeling disappointed."

He spoke with a subtle hint of arrogance and anger, almost as if he had been expecting him to show up. He descended with crossed arms, and a surveying expression on his face. Batman could almost feel his eyes piercing his body. Whoever the man was, it was clear he wasn't the average human giving he could fly. But then again, neither was Bruce.

"I'll ask the questions here," Batman responded, watching the man intently. "This satellite...what happened to the people and where are they? Lie and the ship won't be the only thing is ruins here."

Batman knew nothing about the man in front of him but he knew that he going to solve the mystery of this green crystal.

"I'll ask the questions here. This satellite...what happened to the people and where are they? Lie and the ship won't be the only thing is ruins here."

Clark felt his brow arc instinctively at that comment.

(This man is calm enough to kill without flinching, he's dangerous--but also arrogan)

"Don't get ahead of yourself," Clark said in a low, meaningful tone. His eyes began glowing a sickly red tinge leaving two trails of steam in the late evening air. For a moment he almost looked demonic. "And if you plan on keeping your life you won't refer to me in that tone again."

Clark tossed the arrogant man a small data chip Riley gave him before she and the other astronauts were carried to safety. Within it was the last request Station 3 had gotten from HQ before falling from orbit;

//File Name: 343-#2-PH-NBSSC
//Encryption Type: IMPOSSIBLE. CODEX REMOVED.
//File Body: This is entry log number 2 from lead scientist Preston Hall of the NBSSC Gotham HQ. The results are slow but yielding, the green crystals I've now come to dub as 'Kryptonite' have shown no negative effects on the human subjects, however, they still possess dangerous and unpredictable energy behaviors. All the subjects subsequently died from such experiments, requesting more Kryptonite samples to experiment with. I've already requested more human subjects from the nearest penitentiary--preferably those on death roll. Hopefully this batch won't explode again. I'm close! I can feel it! Well make billions!
//END OF FILE 343-#2-PH-NBSSC

With all that technology adorning hia body Clark knew he would have methods of reading its contents. Clark would wait for the man to analyze and digest it's message while monitoring his breathing and heart rate for any suspicious activity.

"Don't get ahead of yourself and if you plan on keeping your life you won't refer to me in that tone again." The man said as his eyes glowed a reddish tint, strange emanating from them. Perhaps he did out in an attempt to intimidate Batman but he was a master of those tactics himself; his own eyelids of his cowl shone a white tint with his Sonar vision active and it made him appear to be eyeless, further aiding his own intimidation skills. The words were empty threats to Batman as well; how many times have other criminals threatened him to no avail? Even those who had powers as well.

The man threw a small chip towards him. Catching it, Batman looked at it and saw it was labeled "FOR NBSSC". An encrypted data chip, possibly detailing what the satellite crew had logged and encounteted. he thought, preparing to place it into his gauntlet computer before hesitating. He knew nothing about this man, what if this was a setup? His gauntlets were able enough to prevent this but the idea of an attempt was still on his mind. Deciding to take a chance, he placed it inside the computer and a file popped up.

Hearing the report, Batman eye's widened under the suit; this Prentice guy was using this Kryptonite to run experiments on others in an attempt to do something and it was killing them quickly. He could almost feel the stone in his leaded pocket tingling, almost as if it was alive besides him.

"These people were researching this stone, this.... Kryptonite. And people have been dying from exposure to it..."

Batman spoke to the man, before ejecting the chip and throwing it to him and speaking to Alfred.

"It seems our interests are similar atm.. I came to investigate this crash site and find out more about this."

As he spoke, he pulled the Kryptonite from his pocket.

Watching his vitals Clark saw just a slight spike, but not one of fear or surprise, but one of revelation, genuine discovery. He then heard the man speak again over his comm. line, but no one answered. For the moment Clark eliminated him as a villain possibility. But he didn't seem exactly hero either.

As the chip came on its return trip Clark crushed it effortlessly in his palm, small black crumbs fell.

"It seems our interest are similar a at the moment... I came to investigate the crash site and find out more about this."

As he spoke Clark saw him pull something from his pocket. His X-Ray vision picked up on it immediately and he flew back 5m and hovered 10. The red tinge returned his eyes and his body tensed like an animal waiting to lash out.

"Get that thing away from me," he said. "Its radiation is deadly... "

His eyes were trained on the small sample of Kryptonite. Any hostile move and he'd melt it into goo with his heat vision.

As Batman drew the Kryptonite out, the man flew backwards and higher quickly. His eyes glowed red as he appeared to be becoming tense.

"Get that thing away from me," he said. "Its radiation is deadly... "

Having just heard the report that the crystal itself wasn't deadly to humans lead Batman's mind to begin racing; if it was deadly to him, it meant that it confirmed his suspicions and the man in front of him wasn't human. It would also mean that this stone and him had some form of otherworldly connection. Was it possible that the man brought the stone here with him? No, if it was deadly he wouldn't have bought it with him. Either way, it was connected to him. Before he could express these musing, Alfred radioed in to him.

" I have discovered something about the stone, sir. I suggest returning and taking a look at it."

Pausing before answering, if this man was related to the stone then he would need to know about both of them together but he couldn't risk bringing him to the Wayne Manor as he knew virtually nothing about him atm and he wasn't going to take that chance.

"Negative, send the information to me here," he replied, eyes still trained upon the man as he watched him and his glowing eyes before addressing him.

"Well, it seems my assistant discovered something about the stone itself and is sending me the information now. Soon, we'll be able to determine more about this mystery stone."

On cue, a message came through to his gauntlet that he opened and became reading quickly. Details were unraveling itself quickly and he was becoming more understanding to the situation.

"Well....it seems this stone has traces of space matter on it that is present in a galaxy thousands of lightyears away, It has matter contained in it that is consistent with that of a planet that was said to have been destroyed somehow called Krypton. This...Kryptonite comes from that planet, likely the actual planet itself. I have a theory on why it affects you. I've reasoned you aren't from this planet, are you?"

"I'm not exactly human either. This...Kryptonite only affects me by the looks of it, I've reason to believe that we both come from the same place."

Clark lowered until his feet was a mere inch from the ground, but he kept outside the 5m margin for obvious reasons.

"Your companion there seems to have at least some answers to my questions. And I've answers to some of yours, like just how far the NBSSC is willing to take their Kryptonite experimentations, as well as the locations of the remaining two Space Stations. As we speak human lives are being spent in the name of cruel science, we're on the same goal you and I."

Clark then lifted a huge chunk of satellite debris and retrieved the lead case filled with Kryptonite. Even though it was sealed he still handled it like it was a live bomb.

"This..." he said, lifting the obviously heavy box with one hand. "Is just a fraction of what they're doing."

As the man spoke, he extended his arms and hovered a few inches from the earth and held forward a small lead case as if it was to detonate any second.

"This... is just a fraction of what they're doing."

Pocketing the current piece of Kryponite back in the lead pocket, Batman grabs the case and opens it, to a bunch of assorted shapes of Kryptonite, letting out a small amount of the radiation before shutting it back closed, noting the effect it had on the man again.

"I'll return these to my hideouts later. If we're going to the other shutters, I'll need the BatCopter." Raising his hand to his gauntlet, he enters in a few keys and a small honing beacon was released.

"It'll be here shortly, but as for you...if you are indeed from this planet, then there is a chance that it was destroyed after you left.," [Or you destroyed it... Batman thought; though their immediate goal was the same, he still had yet to piece together what the man was capable and why this stone affected him and not others. "But that's a topic for later; for now, focus on topping the other two Space Stations."

Finishing his sentence, the BatCopter descended low towards Batman, it's automated navigation sense having found him. Releasing a ladder, Batman begins to climb the ladder to it.

The man had called in some aerial transport vehicle, shaped oddly like a flying creature. In fact, it looked almost identical to the sign in the middle of his chest: a bat.

As the man began his climb Clark spoke to him, "If you're planning on studying the Kryptonite samples I'd like to be present, it could yield answers to my and their origin."

Then, already airborne, Clark merely adjusted his level to match that of the vehicle as it took off. "I can hear your radio chatter but can't respond to it so if you need to say anything while in the air just say it."

Clark folded his arms now, an amused smirk on his face. "Theses stations are almost at the outer rims of the atmosphere, are you sure this contraption will suffice?"

It looked like a mix between a helicopter and some other weird piece of machinery. Either way, he doubted it would be able to reach the heights they're going to go.

"Theses stations are almost at the outer rims of the atmosphere, are you sure this contraption will suffice?" Batman smirked under his mask as he responded.

"Trust me, it'll be enough."

As it rose, Batman input a few numbers and buttons while it flew towards the atmosphere. As it flew towards it, the automated piloting system went back online.

His seating sliding backwards a small compartment opened on the inside of the copter, Batman sliding inside. As the ship reached near the atmosphere, the door slid open to reveal Batman in a metallic astronaut like suit, but it had thrusters at the bottom to simulate flight. Pushing off the Copter, Batman continues to fly forward as he spoke to the other man.

"You take one shuttle, I'll handle the other".

(Well I'll be damned, this man has a machine for it looks just about everything)

The bat themed vehicle seemed to stabilize itself as the man leaped from it in a fully mechanized flight suit. Now that would be enough to reach the stations, he mused. As the two (or three counting the copter) rose Clark pointed at the stations, almost a kilometer away.

"You take one shuttle station. I'll handle the other."

Hearing his voice with enhanced hearing Clark simply nodded while adding his own instructions, "Just remember to place them in stasis bubbles located at the south of each station, without those they won't survive reentry." With that he shot off toward the father station in pure speed, reaching it about the same time it would take the man to reach the closest one to him.

Station 2 had a sickly aura of Kryptonite radiation emission but Clark simply tore through the South Wing first, grabbing two stasis bubbles and headed to the command room. From there he tossed the two bubbles to the first two astronauts he saw.

"Get in, this place is going down."

"But....it isn't? Our core is stable, and our hull shows no signs of breach--"

"I said...get in," Clark reaffirmed. It wasn't exactly intimidation but the authority in his voice demanded obedience. The reluctant astronauts got in.

With his X-Ray vision he then spotted the core of Station 2 and made haste toward it. From there he delivered two rapid punches enough to bend steel. The core structure wobbled and twisted before exploding in a cloud of blue energy and sparks. Almost immediately, the station began tumbling out of the sky. But Clark was prepared this time; he pushed the two bubbled astronauts out into the rushing wind and supplied the other three with bubbles of their own before pushing them out too.

With a quick glance over at Station 1 Clark knew his mystery sidekick would be moving to save the people and destroy the station just as he was. With one mighty push Clark did his best to veer the now falling station away from NBVille and toward a desert or sea. The feat in itself isn't that noteworthy, from the height they were and the speed they fell final trajectory was relatively easy to change.

Station 2 went down to be destroyed and Clark waited on the other man to complete his side of the mission.

Techs used:
Technique Name: Godspeed
EXP: 10
Type: Mutant
Rank: C
Description: Using his superhuman physiology, Clark is able to reach great speed. By pushing from the ground in either a run or flight Clark can reach incredible speeds only appearing as a blue and red blur to mundane eyes. This ability grants him a boost of +5 Speed. While using Godspeed Clark is unable to use any of his other superpowers however as all his focus is on this otherworldly speed and keeping himself from wrecking stuff.

Technique Name: Olympian Fist
EXP: 20
Type: Mutant
Rank: B
Description: Using his brute strength, Clark will utilize his inhuman durability as a Kryptonian and deliver a wrecking punch to his target. Normally, punches aren't that noteworthy, but when Clark coats his fist in rudimentary Solar Energy radiation his punches are enough to shake the ground around him up to mid-range range and create a crater up to short range. The coating is super heated and allows him to melt through certain substances while he swings his hands, the coating also heats the air around his fists causing it to expand and create less friction. His punch can fly through C ranked lesser metals and organic material with ease, and hit the target with unhindered damage. This is, as mentioned earlier, purely a strength coordinated move. This attack does 45% of the user's STR and 15% of the user's ENE in damage.

Note: Can only be used in rapid succession twice, after which it takes 2 turns to recharge.

As the two split up, Batman flew towards the space shuttle as the other man told him to make sure he placed them in the pods. Flying towards it, he looked for weak points on the ship for entry and saw the doors near the rear weren't as reinforced as they should be.

Placing explosive gel onto normal Batarangs, Batman throws several towards the latches on the door and causes them to explode as he flies towards it, bursting inside. He could have been more tactile in how he got inside but time was a commodity that he didn't have on his side here.

Entering the command room, he spoke in a rasping growl. "Get in the stasis bubbles...NOW!" To demonstrate how urgent this was, he threw an electrical Batarang at the command system, delivering a large surge of electricity that caused it to overload and begin to shut down. Luckily for them all, the backup generators came on but it wasn't nearly enough to maintain power.

"Hey, what are you doing?! The station's going to crash!"

Grabbing the nearest man, Batman forcibly dragged him and threw him into the bubble. Turning back towards the rest, his intent showing through his masked face, they reluctantly moved towards the bubbles, avoiding eye contact with the suited man. Batman didn't care for their feelings or emotions, he only wanted to get these people to safety. His eyes searching the room, he found the lead box that held the crystals and began walking towards it when one of the men turned abruptly and tried to grab it.

"Hey, that is the property of the NBSSC! You aren't allowed to grab that!"

As the man tried to grab the box, Batman grabbed the man's wrist swiftly and painfully, remembering to restrain himself to avoid breaking his wrist. Shoving him into the pod, Batman ejected them all and grabbed the lead box as he grabbed several Explosive Batarangs and began throwing them around the shuttle, aiming at all the vital areas of it such as the command system, the generators and engine before jettisoning out of it.

Ensuring the stasis pods were far enough from the ship and would be safe, Batman detonated the ship, causing it to rain down hundreds of small pieces of metal and debris that burns as it enters the atmosphere. At worse, the remains would crash into the NB Sea.

Their mission done, Batman flew back towards the Batcopter, boarding it as the two made their trip back to Earth.

Techs used:

Technique Name: Utility Belt
EXP: 5
Type: Technology
Rank: D
Description: Although seemingly unremarkable in appearance, the utility belt is one of Batman's most important tools in fighting crime. Consisting primarily of a strap and buckle, the utility belt houses ten pouches or cylindrical cartridges that are attached to the outside of the belt. The buckle itself typically contains a miniature camera and a tape recorder. A secondary compartment behind the length of the belt houses Batman's supply of Batarangs. Each of the ten pouches or cylinders contains various tools integral to Batman's war on crime, with the cylinders being interchangeable with each other. Through the years, Batman has modified the contents of his belt to accommodate various crime-fighting scenarios. The belt is shown to be able to electrocute any villain who even touches it. It can also release stun gas to prevent tampering. The belt's compartments are locked and only Batman knows how to open them. While it does not hold Batman's more advanced tools, it houses all his basic utilities such as:

  • Grapple Gun - for ascension of buildings at high speeds, to boost gliding ability, disarming criminals from a distance and opening up heavy doors.
  • Line Launcher - Fires a parallel line in opposite directions to accelerate over distant obstacles or tightrope walk across silently.
[*]10 Basic Batarang - for disabling thugs, opening doors or destroying things. (deals 10 damage each hit)
  • Freeze Grenades - disables thugs by freezing them in place or creating floating ice for Batman to safely navigate bodies of water
  • Disruptor - Disables mines and various firearms.
  • Cryptographic Sequencer - Computer and communicator allowing Batman to hack into various systems and open various electronically locked doors.
[*]Explosive gel - Allows Batman to spray stable explosive and demolish obstacles and walls and destroy hazardous materials. (deals 20 damage per use)
  • Smoke pellets - create a cloud of smoke when thrown to mask Batman's presence to sneak up on armed opponents.
  • EMP gun: Used to disable any electrical equipment.
  • Remote claw: This gadget is used to join two objects and pull them together. It works by firing a projectile out which hooks onto an object. The projectile then launches a rope-attached claw, which attaches to a second object. Once both are connected, they are pulled together. Batman can use this to knock enemies together, slam heavy objects into foes, or string objects up
Note: The user can only use two of these items per turn, meaning if he chooses to throw Batarangs, he can only use one other item that turn.
Note: Can only be used by Batman and those who are his Apprentices.
Note: Most of these items can only be used outside of battle, with the obvious exceptions.

Technique Name: Batarang Collection
EXP: 20
Type: Defense
Rank: B
Description: An advancement over the standard Batarangs that Batman uses, these Special Batarangs all have unique properties that allow for them to do different feats and have more functionality than the standard version allows for. Each of these are based upon his strength except those noted to be different.

  • Sonic Batarang: These Batarangs when thrown emit a powerful sonar that has to usages depending on the frequency used; if a low frequency is generated, these batarangs cause pain to one's ears and causes vertigo and sickness, causing a small drop in their ability to focus for one turn (-10 Intelligence). If a high ultrasonic frequency is used, this causes a pitched sound normal humans cannot hear and summons a large swarm of bats to be summoned which allows for Batman to mount an escape if needed.
  • Explosive Batarangs: Batarangs equipped with special bombs inside them, these Batarangs are able to explode and cause a large explosion in a 5 meter radius. This explosion causes the Batarangs to release sharpened shrapnel in all directions which pierces the foe and causes high damage to them. While non-lethal, should these be used in the right scenarios (health under 10), these Batarangs are able to cause one to pass out from concussive force while not killing them. These Batarangs can also be timed delayed and remotely detonated.
  • Heated Batarangs: Equipped with a remote heating device, these Batarangs are able to heat tremendously and rapidly, reaching temperatures of up to 1200 degrees Farenheit as they are thrown with temperatures to melt through ice and numerous other materials with ease.Although, depending on the specific metal/material, the batarang may have some difficulty melting through it (B rank and above weapons/equipment - depending on constitution ofc. I.E - they would melt through a B ranked computer, but would not melt through a B ranked armor). These Batarangs are able to cause damage to Batman himself should caution not be taken when they are used. These Batarangs are capable of drying a liquid based item out rapidly as it superheats it, evaporating the water from the substance. These Batarangs can also be timed delayed and remotely detonated to cause a 5 meter explosion of superheated air that causes scalding burns and heat damage to anything nearby as well as be used as heat seeking Batarangs.
  • Poisonous Batarangs: Despite the name, all Batarangs of this type are not directly poisonous but release gases that can cause biochemical harm if ingested or exposed to. The most commonly type deployed of these are Tear Gas Batarangs, which cause choking and blurry, teary-eyed vision and lowers their ability to focus for one turn severely (-15 Intelligence) and slightly lowers it the next turn (-5). He is also able to employ Smoke Batarangs which function just like the Tear Gas ones without the debuffing abilities. The last type of these are Venomous Batarangs, which when thrown emit a trail of gas that causes 5% damage per turn for 4 turns (leading to a total of 20% of the user's Technology rating).
  • Computerized Batarangs: These special Batarangs are able to be used by Batman in a way that allows him to set a fixed path prior to launching them, and control them through his computer on his gauntlet or through his Batcowl vision, seeing the path and being able to use sonar signals to adjust the pattern. This allow for him to use them in sneak attacks should an opponent dodge the first attack by readjusting the course. Upon impact, these Batarangs emit an electrical wave to stun and cause damage to foes or to short circuit C ranked and below technology. Multiple usages (requires at least 3 hits) of this is able to affect technology of the same rank and below.

Note: The User can only use one type per turn.
Note: After each usage, the user must wait one turn before reusing it.

Clark: "Get in, this place is going down."
Batman: "Get in the stasis bubbles...NOW!"

Lmfao.

The stations roared in reentry before slamming into the hard ground, completely inert and destroyed. Mission accomplished.

As the stasis bubbles followed suit Clark still huddled them close and allowed them all to land in the same area. The ten bubbles impacted with loud, resounding thuds, but their contents remained safe--severely jostled, but safe. After they landed and the shaky scientists and astronauts counted invisible stars Clark hovered over them, his face too far to away to register.

"You work for a corrupt organisation. Your lives were put to risk on those stations. Whether you choose to go back to the NBSSC or find new jobs is entirely up to you. But you've been warned."

He then flew over to where the man was landing his impressive bat themed machine. "I'm not sure who you are, or what side you fight for, but you helped me save these people here today, and for that I'm grateful. I'll be in touch about these Kryptnite samples, if you need me you may simply broadcast on a 237.1 frequency, I hear those better." He paused after, rubbing his chin with his index finger. "The name is Superman, by the way, what do I call you?"

Had to keep it harsher than Superman lol

Piloting the Copter, Batman landed near the wreckage and exited it and inputted a code. The BatCopter then rose and shot off into the night, autopiloting it's self back to the Batcave. As it left, he turned to face the other man. He had just told the people about the NBSSC being corrupted and Batman couldn't help but think "Just like every organization here...". Finishing his talk with them, the man turned towards him and began speaking.

"I'm not sure who you are, or what side you fight for, but you helped me save these people here today, and for that I'm grateful. I'll be in touch about these Kryptnite samples, if you need me you may simply broadcast on a 237.1 frequency, I hear those better." He paused for a moment before continuing. "The name is Superman, by the way, what do I call you?"

Superman. Of course that was his name, Batman thought to himself.

"Batman. And if you ever need me, project an image of a Bat onto the sky and I'll be there. Until then...."

Leaving the sentence lingering, Batman shot his grappling gun towards a rooftop and pulled himself towards the roof landing and leaping from the other side, taking flight with his cape. As he sailed off, his thoughts lingered to the stones in his pocket and the man he just encountered...Superman... For now, he wasn't a threat but if he ever did become one...well, Batman luckily had a collection of his weaknesses on hand.
