So, like any other training you have encountered, we first go over the basics. Taijutsu is of its own. Many lasting sensei have mastered this type of combat over time and now have become legends. It comes down to stern discipline, righteous motivation, and an eye for limitations. I would like you for you to explain Taijutsu to me in a detailed and wise answer. Be cautious how you answer - for if I don't find it correct or enough we will redo it over and over again.

Taijutsu is a basic form of techniques and refers to any techniques involving the martial arts or the optimisation of natural human abilities. Taijutsu is executed by directly accessing the user's physical and mental energies, relying on the stamina and strength gained through training. It typically does not require chakra, though chakra may be used to enhance its techniques. Taijutsu generally requires no hand seals to perform, occasionally making use of certain stances or poses, and are far quicker to use than ninjutsu or genjutsu. Taijutsu is simply put: hand-to-hand combat.
Although it is used by nearly all ninja, some characters use taijutsu almost exclusively like Rock Lee and his teacher Might Guy, are experts of many taijutsu techniques. Example of taijutsu techniques are Dynamic Entry and Leaf Whirlwind. The Hyūga clan's Gentle Fist, however, makes extensive use of chakra and demands great skill in its control. The taijutsu techniques are the right choices for those that want to save their time and chakra, or for those who rely on their physical attributes. It can also be used uniquely in collaboration with ninjutsu to create nintaijutsu techniques.

You seem to understand the jist of what taijutsu is but it dials down into a more emotional level as well. Yes we punch, yes we kick but perfecting such abilities also comes with discipline and motivation. The idea of not letting anything stand in your way because your confidence keeps you level minded and fierce.

Tell me padawan, what is it to have discipline? How is this obtained? How does one master taijutsu with the correct amount.

Discipline is the assertion of willpower over more base desires, and is usually understood to be synonymous with self control. Discipline is to some extent a substitute for motivation, when one uses reason to determine the best course of action that opposes one's desires.

I believe pure willpower is the best way to gain discipline over ones self, without of course the use of a master beating discipline into you. With enough willpower, one can gain an efficient amount of 'self-discipline' which is the ultimate route to self control and calm an rational reasoning skills.

I think a combination of willpower and self-discipline is the route to mastering taijutsu. Because willpower is the strength and ability to carryout a certain task, self-discipline is the ability to use it routinely and even automatically (as if through reflex). An analogy for the relationship between the two might be defined as follows: Where willpower is the muscle, self-discipline is the structured thought that controls that muscle.

Good answer. There are many ways for one to gain what you mentioned like will power and discipline. However, we are here to teach you hand to hand combat and we'll do such. What we must do to gain the endurance to preform taijutsu properly will be obtaining a certain level of physical strength. We're going to start with a few warm-ups..hopefully you're up for them.

*Daenerys pulls out a scroll with a list of exercises on it to begin with. She hands you the scroll*

Follow the instructions and exercises lists on the scroll. Be sure to follow each exercise to the key so that you gain the fullest out of them. This may take you a bit to do but it's where we will start and get that blood flowing to start training. Once done, meet me in the secret location that is written on the bottom of the scroll - from there the real training will begin.

So I read the paper an begin the long work out...
I begin running, I try an keep a decent but reasonable pace. I am running around Sunagakure, waving at all the villagers as I go through the streets, up an down the side streets an around the park an such. My tour through the city brings me to about 7miles down. I stop by the item shop an grab a shinobi power pill for an energy boost. Boy did I not know what I was getting myself into...With this new found energy I make my way back towards the cities north gate knocking off another 3miles on the way. Once outside the village I begin running the last 10miles, I run completely around the city in one big giant circle, bringing me to 17miles. As I figure im about 3miles out from the training field where I began this intense run. I head back there. As I come to the training field again surprisingly still have plenty of energy left.

I pull out my List an look at the second item...1500 push ups. I stare at the list before folding it back up an stuffing it away. I figure that I will split up these exercises to not burn myself out on one thing. I drop down onto my hands and knees, where I slide my legs back til im only hold up by my tippytoes an my hands. With my arms completely vertical and my back evenly horizontal I begin my push ups stopping when I get to 750 to come back to it later.

Now I take out the list once again, wiping sweat from my forehead first an reading the next thing on the list....2000 crunches...I sigh an I begin my crunches, I lay on my back pulling my knees up til the back of my feet touch my butt, I fold my arms crossing them over each other an begin to pull my midsection up til im at a vertical angle then back down to horizontal. I do this 1000 times.

Like before I pull out the list eager to start the next technique. I stand with my feet a few spread apart, an I begin sitting downwards stopping with my butt a few feet off the ground an then standing back up to the top. I stop at about 500.

Next on the list is jumping jacks, I start these by putting my feet together an my hands and arms stretched out above my head, as I clap my hands above my head I swing my feet outwards all the way apart. I bring my feet back together an throw my hands apart again. I repeat this 750 times before moving on to the next technique.

Sweating profusely I pull out the list again. After reading that im required to do a 1hr plank. I return the list to my pocket an bend down onto my knees where i bend down like a pushup but I place my elbows on the ground then bend the rest of my arm down til my wrist and elbows are flat on the ground. Next I stretch my legs back until I'm on my tiptoes an I hold this post for around 30mins.

I stand up from my plank an take a drink from a bottle of water I bought at the item shop, when suddenly I remember the extra shinobi energy pill I purchased. Overjoyed I quickly take it an look at the list again....With that a montage begins showing me finishing the last half of all the techniques. Ending with me looking tired standing in the spot where my Sensei left me, as im staring at the paper trying to figure out where the 'secret location' is at on the paper.

*As the last of your work completes, a sudden lightning bolt crashes down upon you and in a blink of the eye you find yourself in the secret location*

The field is rather large with dummies scattered donning different wear like armor. It's surrounded by a rocky mountain terrain that has no entrance nor exit seemingly impossible to escape. The field however is flat. Also on the field you see large logs placed into the ground while some are just laying around - perhaps for lifting. Behind you is a table with water, energy pills, and other food. Also you see a wooden cabin - nothing to fancy or big but there nonetheless.

*As you're taking in the whole training field, a pop of energy in front of you goes off and from the energy, Daenerys is formed - she holds her stick*

So, I hope your heart is beating at a decent pace now. Muscles ache a bit? Well, unfortunately your day isn't over yet. You'll rest soon - remember that resting your muscles and mind is essential. But let's begin, you may know of taijutsu as punches and kicks..we'll you're right. The bare basics use your legs, feet, arms, and hands as tools of battle. When you first punch a hard log, it will hurt. When you kick a log, it will hurt. Ever wonder how those taijutsu mastered kick and punch with near no pain? It boils down to nerve dampening as I call it. The more you do it, the more your body becomes use to it. We're going to end the day with a few exercises before it's time to rest your body.

*Daenerys points to a large log*

I want you too punch this log 500 times, then I want you to kick it 500 times. After that switch arms and legs and do the same thing so each fist and leg gets the same amount of pain and endurance. If you begin to bleed, use the tape on the table to wrap up the wound and conitune. When finished, go inside the cabin eat, then sleep. I'll awake you in the morning.

Suddenly I find myself staring at the Utopia of training grounds infront of my eyes. Before I know it my master as materialized in front of my eyes. With my new training exercise given to me I begin. With Punches. I take my left hand an begin striking the log. With the first punch I cringe as pain shoots up through my hand and up to my shoulder. After each punch with my left hand, the next punch I through is with my right hand. I rotate hands with each punch. After each punch the pain dissipates til I feel nothing at all. After 300 punches with each hand, I notice blood all over the indents in the logs that i've caused, when I look down at my fists, I can see blood pouring out from my knuckles. I proceed to the table where I wrap each hands with the tape an go back to my training. I easily finish the last of my punches and proceed to the kicks.

With the first kick I feel, nothing but sheer pain through out my shin. I feel as though I cracked my shin. Tears well in my eyes, an I bite my lip, working through the pain I go back to kicking with while rotating between each leg after every 10 kicks. When I reach 500 total kicks, I fall back onto my butt and sit for a few minutes catching my breathe. Before I knowing, my stomach grows so loud it can be heard across the training field. With that I get up and enter the cabin, where surprisingly there is already a bowl of ramen steaming and waiting for me. I finish eating and pass out sitting up in my chair.

Morning! A new day is among us. You don't look very good. Remember too keep those bandages tight and clean - we don't need you to get an infection because..rankly I can't help you in that situation. Meet me outside in 5 minutes. Eat breakfast! Hurry!

So, today is your real first day of training. Taijutsu training will be filled with all sorts of different things. Today, we'll start our day but some endurance and calming your mind. Having a calm mind is essential, finding a certain silence within your soul and body will only increase your ability in hand to hand combat. If you look over on the eastern side of the training ground, you'll see a waterfall, under that falling water you see a large smooth rock. I want you to mediate upon that rock as the water crashes down on you. Close your eyes and find that calm, clear your mind, rest your muscles, bring your body to a complete calm. Bring your soul to a sense of relaxation. The water will crash on your body, helping your resistance and endurance as your mind finds true peace.

Do this until, I come and get you.

Before eating, I go and wash my hands and carefully scrub my wounds before re-wrapping them tightly. I sit down and quickly eat a samwhich made of the toast and eggs, trying not to go over the 5min timeline.

I come out side and recieve my instructions as to sit and meditate under the water fall.
I approach the waterfall and undress down to nothing but my boxers. I channel chakra to my feet an walk ontop of the water til I get to the stone where I step up onto it with ease.

Next I sit down cross legged under the waterfall. The water slams down on me as if it is forcing me off the rock and into the water. At first it is painful and is hard to think about anything other than the cold and damaging water. I place my elbows on each of my thighs holding my hands about chest hight. I begin to relax by listening to the sound of the wind blow across the training field. The wind shoots by and weaves around rocks and stumps. Blowing the grass around. I listen to the sounds closer to me, the roar of the water at the top of the falls before it pours down apon me. The water crashes all around me and washes away all thoughts in my head. Aswell as it seems to cleanse any troubles bothering me. I feel completely at ease.

Daenerys poofs back! Your sensei views you under the crashing water - seemingly in a state of peace.

Padawan!

Your sensei calls with no response from you. Meaning you are in deep mediation. Only one way to wake you up, Daenerys jumps up with her stick and slams it into your face. You suddenly fall back into the water. You slowly come back to land with a huge bump on your face.

Well, I hope you were at peace for awhile. I believe you found some inner peace. You saw yourself in the good and bad, the unknown and obvious. To further our training, we will begin with - yes you guessed it! More punches and kicks. Walk over to the log you were practicing with yesterday and alternate between punches and kicks until that log is split in half. When you're done with that we will continue with more advance training.

I come to with my face throbbing. I'm not sure whether I was in such a state of peace that I fell asleep and smacked my face on the rock, or that my sensei gave me another of those infamous vicious strikes, to the face from his training stick.
With my new instructions and dreadful image of the intense training I've just recently begun recovering from, I cringe and looked down at my hands still bruised under the tape. I remove my wet tap and re-wrap them tightly with new tape, before walking over to the log, I judge it's thickness and can only determine I'll be here all day.

Now I begin punching and kicking the log, I start off with lightning fast jabs and quick light kicks to the center of the log. After a few hundred of each I begin really putting my weight behind each punch I throw. I start clearing my mind, relaxing myself and focusing on my breathing as I kick and punch. In through the nose, out through the mouth. In and out. The log now has a few cracks in the wood and splinters are flying with each hit I make. Now I slow my punches and kicks speed down and focus on powerful mighty punches, with each punch and kick there is a large deafening bang that goes across the training field. With one final kick from my right(dominate) leg, The log snaps in two and the top half is sent flying away and slams into another nearby stump.

Let's move on. We'll be talking about a few stances today. If you've noticed throughout your travels, many shinobi have certain stances they take when they use types of taijutsu. Generally a stance is done for a form of fighting. Either for offensive, defensive, or a bit of both. Some stances are just for hands and arm while other use mostly legs and kicks. Below are some Wing Chu Do stances - just so you get an idea of what a stance would look like.

So, like I said stances can be essential to types of taijutsu - we're not really going into any specifics but I would like for you to explain to me what types of taijutsu stances that you know of that are from the Narutoverse only i.e. like for certain clans. Also, find a stance that you find interesting - explain it a little bit and preform the stance in a fluid motion.

The only real taijutsu types that are specific to clans, that I can find are from the Hyūga clan. Which is also the ones that interest me, the most.

Jūken: is a form of hand-to-hand combat used by members of the Hyūga clan. It inflicts internal damage through attacking the body's Chakra Pathway System, subsequently injuring organs which are closely intertwined with the area of the network which has been struck.

Juuho Soushiken: is a Taijutsu technique utilized by Hyuuga Hinata. After gathering chakra to her fists, Hinata will skillfully spin towards her target to avoid attack and strike them. Spectral lion heads will then form around her fists.

Hakkeshou Kaiten: is a Taijutsu technique unique to the Hyuuga bloodline using the Jūken. Kaiten is a special technique passed down through the main family line. Kaiten takes advantage of several of the unique abilities of the Byakugan eye. Byakugan gives the clan member an almost complete 360 degree view of their surroundings. This allows the member to see all angles of attack. If an attack is near, the clan member will release a large of amount of chakra from their tenketsu. The member then begins to spin like a top, creating a whirling vortex that can nullify almost any attack.

Hakke Hyakunijuuhachishou: is a variation of Hakke Rokujuuyonshou, a technique passed down through the main family line. When an opponent is within the clan members divination field of attack, they can quickly begin their assault. The technique allows the clan member to use the Byakugan eye to make nearly double the normal 126 strikes, striking 254 times against their individual foe or opponents. First the clan member will strike 2 times, then 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 and finally 128 times.


I start by taking the traditional Hyuga battle stance by lowering my upper segment of my body a little with my left hand in front and down at the level of my hip and my right hand my dominant hand raised above my right shoulder with all the fingers flexed except for index and middle finger.

I would have accepted Gai and Lee taijutsu style - talking about the inner gates. Dead Bone Pulse, the KG/taijutsu combination of the Kaguya clan. Frog Kata, the taijutsu of the Sages. Many to list that don't seem as obvious but are very much in the narutoverse. Either way, good explanation on the probably most known taijutsu style.

Sensei walks over to a standing training dummie with a metal armor!

okay, i want you to take a typical offensive stance. Strike this dummie 1000 times, with both kicks and punches. This will hurt your hand but for this training I don't want just straight up attacks. After every kick, after every punch - go back into the stance. What I'm teaching you is a sense of flow. When you attack and go back to stance, you allow yourself to counter or defend much easier and not only that but this teaches you discipline. When you're done, head to bed. Eat your hot dinner, cleans your wounds, and sleep. Tomorrow is another day. Good work so far, padawan.

Sensei walks into the cabin as you begin to pursue the task ahead!

After hearing your instructions, I begin staring at the Metal armor before me. It seems like a rather complex and painful training regiment. Though I can tell this is ultimately an important part of my training.

Finally with the metal armor tinted with the red of my blood and my legs weak to the point I can barely hold myself up, I hit 1000 and begin walking back to the house where it takes all my energy to wash up, wrap my palms with gauze and medical tape. I eat the meal my Sensei has left for me, before laying in the bed, where as soon as my head hits the mattress, I'm already asleep from exhaustion.

Sensei stops you the moment you take the stance!

You're not a hyuga. You're training and stance shall be different. Take another stance - boxing or whatever. Just nothing that is specific to a certain clan because that stance is used for their own taijutsu and I'm not training in that only basic taijutsu. Try again..

I start this time by getting into a stance were my left leg bent while mmy right leg is stiff and down stretched out at a angle, I keep my right arm stretched behind my back, and my left arm bent with my hand opened infront of my face. I start by piveting on my bent knee and swinging my stretched out leg forward with a vicious kick, before retreating back to my stance. With the pain flowing up and down my leg like a vibration I cringe through it and through a swinging right hook from the arm behind my back then concede back to my stance, knuckles still ringing with pain from the punch.

I continue you this process every couple hits I switch my stance making my left left the straight one and my right the bent and so fourth. Before I realize it my knuckles have cracked and blood slowly oozes out, my shins have bruised over an are extremely sensitive. Still I preserver, an continuing my strikes one after another. The next day..
You suddenly awake to the smell of crepes! Seeing your sensei in the dining area..


Now, eat up and start your day with a quick jog around the training fields. Clean your wounds as well. Jog around the field for about an hour straight - no stops, no breaks, no buckling. Afterwards, Head over to the training dummies, without armor and do 500 alternating kicks and punches. Then once, your warm up is finished meet me in the area with the many rocks. Sit atop the tallest rock and mediate until I come and get you. But while you meditate, I want you to ponder. Think about your training thus far, have you done well? Have you done poor? What can you do to be better, if possible. Also ponder flow - the flow of a river, the rage of a fire, the calmness of the mood. Think, absorb the feeling of the wind and..become one with your soul. Trance.

Daenerys poofs away in a plume of smoke!
