Why does he think he can compete with Naruto? Nearly all his life he has been playing catch-up to Naruto, who lies on a completely different level than Lord Sasuke. When you look at the big picture, Lord Sasuke is a tier below the kages, Madara and Naruto. Every battle Lord Sasuke is fodderized by Naruto, Madara, Killer Bee most opponents without some sort of outside help.

This was a decent twist, but this battle will be swift and short.

Yup Naruto expected him to turn and someone mentioned in another thread about Naruto's ability while in KCM to sense "Evil" so I guess Naruto always knew even when Sasuke turned "Good" that this would happen and since then prepared for it to occur
