Let's talk a little about his past.......... first of all I never thought about it until people brought it up, Diana is it? .... Well his first wife being the smiling Titan, who we all know killed Carla Jeager. Now the more I think about it the more it make sense seeing how in the last chapter we see how they were going to paradise to be Titan for eternity, I can see her being none other than the smiling Titan.

He was found outside the walls. That would seem to imply that he was sent there. Most likely guess is that he ate a titan shifter there somehow, and ate it to turn human again.

Can you link the page where this was stated? I reread the chapter 3 times and didn't see it, though pages were jumbled up and repeating.
