I said this in another topic, but I look at it 2 ways. Keep him dead for the rest of the story and if he's meant to be revived, then do it at the end of the war so his sacrifice never was in vain, or give him a proper funeral when it's over.

Either way, I found that scene with the bird formation absolutely beautiful and it honored him greatly!

Same for Jiraiya and some others. They should stay dead.
