Alright, so we all know, or at least think that Naruto is in it's final arc and soon we'll have to go to other anime and manga. And what I'm about to suggest doesn't have to be read after Naruto is over, this can also be read if you're really tired of the same old stuff. Anyways, everyone talks about Fairy Tail, Bleach and One Piece. But if you're looking for something that is genuinely, try this manga/anime out that's not so hyped as others if you haven't already tried it:
SOUL EATER
So on a lot of threads that concern ideas for new manga to read, this never pops up. But this is a story that is just too good. Better than Bleach and One Piece in my opinion.
Pretty much this series takes place in a somewhat modern society with normal humans, but there are also special humans born that have the ability to transform into "Weapons" which can range from swords, scythes, magic lanterns, etc.
The "Meister" is the one who wields these weapons. If the two have a strong resonance, they can become very powerful. The academy for these people is called Shibusen, which is ruled by Lord Shinigami. Very silly and cartoony, but in reality extremely powerful.
The main characters are female meister Maka Albarn and her weapon Soul. Other supporting but very major characters include meisters Death the Kid (obssesed with symmetry) and his twin pistols Liz and Patty, and Black Star (pushes himself way too far and thinks he's god) and his chained sickle Tsubaki. The three and the Academy face a problem: the Kishin has escaped it's underground prison underneath Shibusen due to an evil snake witch named Medusa, and was actually.sealed many years ago by Shinigami himself. Now, the Kishin must be stopped before his chaos engulfs the world. Anime is 52ish episodes long and the manga is still continuing at around 108 chapters. The manga and anime storyline start to branch off halfway in, and chapters are very long, at around 30 pages, though in turn chapters are released every month.
This is a great series that I reccomend to anyone out there looking for a new anime/manga. It has lots of humor that will make you laugh like crazy, a unique twist where the lead character is a girl, dark but also very cool storyline, characters aren't too overpowered but fights are still awesome, and so much more! If you have already seen this or are currently keeping up with the series, sorry if I wasted your time XD but if not, give this a try! Thanks for reading!
