Looking for a old anime

Aright. A few years back, I once woke up in the early hours of the morning and watched some Adult Swim. This was back when S.CRY.Ed was airing. Now, the anime I saw was really good, but I have no clue what it is.

From what I remember (I kinda came in near the end) was a boy being lifted up into the sky or something by a robot (I think they were going through a portal, and he's trying to get this girl to come with him, but she can't. Than it cut to some guy with long hair, and he's holding this flower and talking about life or something...than it cut to this really weird guy running around in a frog costume, and yelling that "I'm so beautiful!" Or something like that...

Any ideas?

I'm not really sure man. I'm not sure if I have seen that particular anime, so I can't tell you what it is.

But what I can do is link you to the wikipedia list of adult swims previous shows, maybe you can look at them and find the right one.

But there was one program that ran the same time as scryed and that was neon genesis evangelion, which I've heard is a good anime.

It's Eureka 7 probably. One of my fav. anime.

Sorry, but it's none of those shows. I think it was Gurren Lagann, but I just finished watching the whole series and nothing like that scene came back up. But I know it had the same art style.

I love that show! But it's not the one...I really thought the show I saw was Gurren Lagann, because it really looked like Leeron was the one in the frog costume.
