- Fullmetal Alchemist (Favorite Shounen action of all time, fits in a unique fighting style while retaining a complex, compelling plot and developing main characters and side characters alike very well. Even the villains can be sympathetic)
- Future Diary (Survival game, in which 12 individuals have their own diaries of sorts that can predict future events in their own unique ways. It's definitely darker than most Shounen and has the whole mystery thriller sense throughout)
- Zatch Bell! (Very underrated Shounen. Great comedy and very lighthearted but does a fantastic job even with the serious moments and has great character development)
- Deadman Wonderland (Dark, intense story about a boy who is sent to prison for killing his classmates, though he was not guilty in fact, and is forced to survive in the unorthodox prison and discovers that he has the ability to fight using his blood. Very similar to Future Diary but a different setting)
- Berserk (Most gruesome, explicit story I have ever seen. Starts off slow but builds up into a dramatic, intense, heartbreaking story of a man's tragic life and all of the losses he endures over the course of his adventure)
- Pandora Hearts (Very mystery-oriented type of Shounen where the two main characters try to uncover the secrets of the past. Cool action but more than anything focuses on the insane plot twists and character secrets)
- Rosario+Vampire (Seems like it would be a stupid ecchi but is actually a really good story, particularly in Season II. Great action and the plot itself holds up pretty well overall)
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Quite a long Shounen but well worth it. One of the manliest series I have ever encountered with very memorable fight scenes and fantastic protagonists. Consists of 8 parts, though I only ever finished the first 5)
