I've played just about every Call of Duty game there is until recently with Black Ops 2 because quite frankly it looked exactly the same as all the other games, but I've never played a Battlefield game.
After this year's E3 and DICE's mind blowing presentations with Battlefield 4, coupled with the fact BF3 was on sale yesterday for $5 on Origin, I decided to pick it up and give it a try.
I don't know if I'm just used to the way COD looks or I've been playing those games for too long, but just about everything in BF3 has impressed me so far and I'm probably only a third through the game.
From the graphics to lighting and shadows to the cut-scenes, everything just looks so much better than anything I've see out of COD in a long time and BF3 is almost a two year old game. I don't know, maybe Block Ops 2 has some great new graphics, but in all honestly COD: Ghosts didn't even look that good and it's a supposed next-gen game.
I just got through the Paris nuke explosion level and am now rolling in a tank in Afghanistan or Iran, I forget, but as I was playing I literately said out loud "I don't think I can go back to COD".
I'm not saying this because I'm a Battlefield or DICE fanboy, I'm saying it because I've been converted. Hell I played Counter-Strike for 8 years before switching over to COD for my FPS multiplayer fix just to give you some background on my loyalty to a game.
In ending I'd like to thank COD for the good times, there were many, but the time has come for us to part ways, sad as it may be I have found something better in Battlefield.
