it's hard to tell, really. it could be true, it could be false. he once wrote a different story and basically everything the 'God' said is sorta mixed of his [Harry] own words [if you've read any of his topic, you'll see the similarities] therefore it could be a fiction he wrote like 'The Play' but.. we don't know. he never once mentioned the story being false and never once mention the story being true expect for anything written in the 'conversation'.
