They used each other. They never liked each other. Madara used Obito first and had the Zetsus make sure he witnessed Rinn's death. If Rinn had not died before his eyes Obito would have returned to Konoha. Once Madara died Obito, who liked the plan due to Rinn's death, decided to carry it out anyway. If not for Kabuto, Obito would never have revived Madara. I think he decided not to revive Madara once Rinne Tensei from Nagato became impossible. He did not feel Madara was worth sacrificing his life for. They used each other. We will have to wait for Madara's back up plan to see who comes out on top.

That makes no sense at all. If Obito was completely controlled like that, he would have sacrificed himself for reviving Madara without any questioning, Madara didn't have to forcefully try to make Obito use Rinne Tensei.
And of course Obito wouldn't have become Jinchuuriki in Madara's place.
