Im sick of when a vs disscusion comes up, people just vote for their favorite character instead of stating facts. We all know that Batman is more popular than Captain America. I dont really give a damn about who is the most popular thats not important, whats important is who is the best? That would be Captain America.
Lets look at statistics:
Physical Prowess.: Captain America is the perfect specimen of human developement & conditioning. His strength, endurance,agility,speed,reflexes,durability & healing, are the zenith of natrual human potential. Batman has NO inherent superhuman powers, to conpensate for this he relies on his own scientific knowledge, detective skills, & atheletic prowess. Batman is is more like an Olympic Athelete, Captain America is superior to ANY olympic athelete. Even if Batman were to match Cap. in physical feats, one thing that Batman does not have is Captain America's stamina & endurace. And no amount of training could give him that.
The edge goes to Captain America in terms of Physical Prowess.
Hand-to-Hand Combat: Batman & Captain America are both the best H2H combatants in their respective universes (DC & Marvel). Captain america blends Judo, Western Boxing, Kickboxing, & Gymnastics into a unique fighting style. And has also mastered dozens of other martial arts. Batman has knowledge & expertise in almost every fighting discipline know to man. So lets be honest, they are both pretty even In hand-to-hand combat. But In what terms? Its obvious that in a H2H fight between the two, it would be a long, even fight. But who would keep the edge? And THATS when physical prowess comes into consideration. Batman does not have Caps. stamina,endurace, or healing properties. Captain America does not get tired, his super-soldier serum does not wear off. Even if batman were to physically damage Cap., he would only recooperate & recover. As the fight progressed, Cap. would use his superior physical prowess and eventually overwelm Batman.

Equipment & Weaponry: Captain Americas sheild is an amazing object. It has deflected missles from Ironman, deflected blows from Hulk & Thor, etc. It completlely nutralizes energy and can also redirect energy both physical & kinetic. But Batman has the edge when It Equipment & Weaponry, he has so many tools & gadgets that there are too many to name. His primary weapons & tools such as Batarangs,Grapple gun, Bat pellets,First aid kit,Bat-lasso,smoke grenades, etc would give him a HUGE advantage over cap in this area. And tbh, this is the only area batman even has an advantage.

Philosophy: I scratch my head when people think it guarantees batman for the win because he "cheats". Since when did Captain America fight opponets who "fight fair"? He hasnt. Both fight and have fought opponets stronger & more powerful than themselves, not just Batman. Cap. is a 'adapt to the moment' type of guy. Batman is a 'let me prepare in advance for every contingency I can think of' type of guy. And what about wear & tear? Batman has GOTTA be a bit worn down from all of the damage he has taken over the years, Captain America has the benifit of the super soldier serum CONSTANTLY repairing/maintaining his 'pinnecal human form'. What is Steve Rogers doing in his "spare time"? TRAINING. What is Bruce Wayne doing his "spare time"? Running a company/providing a public face, deflecting any suspicion that he may be Batman etc. All of this is VERY time consuming. Meawhile Cap. is training or In battle. Plus Cap has more experience and MUCH more tatical training. Captain America has fought WARS, while Batman waited till night time to beatup thugs and spy on people. But yet he is cooler than Cap.? Need I say more?

Master tatician & strategist (Cap.) vs Genius level Intellect (Batman): *sigh... This is were things get complicated, REALLY complicated. But even as complicated as this is, Cap has the edge again. Cap is a on-the-spot strategist, Batman is a beforehand strategist. Captain obviously has the advantage here. Even with Bat and his genius intellect, eventually fatigue would interfere. Captain does not fatigue. He only adapts and learns more and more as the fight goes on.
This would be an EPIC battle, but Captain America would win. He outclasses Batman In ALL areas. All people do nowadays is pick the coolest, most popular hero, instead of who is the best. So with that being said, Captain America> Batman.
