Let's get down to business.

( Doton: Renga no Jutsu ) Earth Release: Practice Brick
Technique
Type: Defensive
Rank: C
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: The user creates a solid wall of earth as a form of defence, manipulating a pre-existing ground to form the wall. The earth then instantly rises up and takes form. Though weak, the walls can serve as a makeshift blockade when formed by several users, slowing down large, powerful attacks. This technique is
apparently extremely simple and basic among Earth Release techniques, and can thus be easily taught to and used by non-primary Earth Release users.

Tell me what you think about this technique and its usefulness in battle. Mention any two scenarios it can be used effectively.

The jutsu has more cons than pros to be honest. Sure it can be useful in seldom situations, but most of the time you're just blockading your view of the opponent and putting yourself in a defensive position. By standing behind a wall, you're giving your opponent more control, and he it's up to him to decide whether to attack you from the ground, above or behind. Like it says in the description, you'll need several of these walls put up any proper defense, and since you get 3 moves per turn, you're better off with another jutsu. All in all it's not very useful.

Very good.

(Doton: Shōheki) Earth Release: Enclosing Wall
Type: Defensive
Rank: C-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: The Earth Release Enclosing Wall is a technique where the user performs the Ram → Tiger → Snake → Dog →
Snake hand seals and creates a solid wall of earth as a form of defence, manipulating a pre-existing ground to form the wall. The earth then instantly rises up and takes form. Though weak, the walls can serve as a makeshift blockade when formed by several users, slowing down large, powerful attacks. Not only that but
while being describe as simple and basic, the truth is that the technique itself has rather a large scale. This technique is apparently extremely simple and basical among Earth Release techniques, and can thus be easily taught to and used by non-primary Earth Release users.

This is virtually the same as the previous technique. However, can you spot the little differences between them?

This one creates a larger wall and its name implies it has some degree of curvature. Plus it's limited to short range whereas the other was short to long.

Good job. Now the next. It's a B-rank. This technique, although fairly low ranked is still very popular in battles today.

(Doton: Retsudo Tenshō) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth
Turning Palm
Rank: B-Rank
Type: Offense
Range: Short/Long
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: 40
Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

It allows the user to manipulate the ground in the form of a whirlpool. No water here, just earth and rocks. So you can tell that this can do a lot of damage.

So what do you think? Do you find it useful? Can you think of any battle situations where this can prove to be a real game changer?

This is more useful than the previous two. A situation you can use it in is when your opponent is attempting to tie together several jutsus for a powerful combination. Another predicament is if your opponent (for whatever reason) decides to jump back to mid/long range, you can use this on the place you expect them to land whilst they're midair. The best is that they'd be caught in this jutsu and the worst is they'll be almost caught off guard and forced into a defensive position.

Very good. Always remember to use it in a way that you don't get caught in it yourself. Our next technique has a more direct approach. You have just finished engaging your opponent in taijutsu combat. As you break away, you activate this technique. This will prevent your opponent from swiftly following you, but also attack him so quickly that he may most likely have to evade. You have gained the upper hand.

( Doton: Dosekidake no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Earth and
Stone Bamboo Shoot Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user of this technique condenses the soil and rock in the area to sprout out in the form of four large spikes which attack the target from four separate directions to make it harder to evade. However, it can be easilty avoided by escaping upwards.

If this technique is used against you, how would you defend from it using any earth technique you've learned so far.

(Doton: Hedoro no Kouzetsu) Earth Release : Slime Ensnaring Tongue
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user expels a retractable cord of mud in the shape of an elongated tongue from their mouth. Its adhesive and retractive ability allow it to stick to objects and pull them towards the user or it can be used to pull the user towards another person. However, its main purpose is to attach to any part of the terrain which is in range and pull the user to the desired location extremely quickly. It can also be used in quick succession to travel from one place to another.
Note: Lasts for three turns
