1. Hashirama - He sought peace and tried to become allies with everybody in the Narutoverse.
2. Hiruzen - He tried his best negotiating through talking, not through battles.
3. Itachi - He sacrificed his own clan to protect both the village and his brother, even making himself look like a villain to everyone.
4. Naruto - He gives hope to everybody, inspires them, and rescued many people.
5. Minato - Saved the village and the villagers, sacrificed himself, stopped the Masked Man, and sealed the Kyuubi.

Bad:

1. Orochimaru - Experimented on countless humans only to acquire the things he desired. Attacked Konoha, murdered many people, including The Professor, Hiruzen Sarutobi.
2. Uchiha Madara - Strict, cocky and very prideful - planned the Moon Eye Plan and made the Masked Man to carry it on and try to complete it.
3. Yakushi Kabutomaru - Using Edo Tensei, which trades people's lives for the summonings. Killed and injured many people through Edo Tensei during the war, etc.
4. Uchiha Sasuke - Killed many people, hurt many and sacrificed anything to get the power which he would need to deal with Itachi later on. He kills Danzo, who sought to protect Konoha and technically kills Itachi who never told him the truth.
5. Hidan - Slaughtered his neighbors and worshiped Jashin who makes his followers immortal in exchange to their actions of slaughtering.

People who still don't understand itachi's story and still think he is evil need to stop reading/watching naruto. Obviously your minds cannot process that plot twist and don't understand how much of a hero itachi is. He is one of the most "good" characters on naruto. Kishimoto himself most likely likes itachi's character quite alot and so do I. He is my favorite character on naruto

itachi is a violent serial mindrapist and child murderer. he attacked and threatened konoha multiple times and ordered the attempted murder of innocent konoha citizens. hes caused more pain to his brother than anyone and is a sociopathic torturer

itachi brutally mindraped his brother, serves a corrupt village that kills children for flimsy reasons, tortured kakashi for no reason, hoarded all the intel he got while in akatsuki which caused jiraiyas death, didnt react when he heard his friend and partner kisame had died, served danzo and trusts danzo, who has his best friends eye in him (WTF), tried to brainwash and enslave his brother with shisuis eye, beat sasuke into a coma for no reason, attacked and tortured naruto, ordered the execution of innocent people so sasuke can get MS
and this is one of the most "good" characters? i dont want to know who is the best heroic character. its probably danzo or nagato

he didnt prevent anything. there was no war, wasnt going to be a war, and civil strife is evident if a village loses its strongest clan overnight, prompting kages to invade.

he butchered children who had no knowledge nor plans to attack the village, chose to kill hundreds instead of 4 people, chose to mindrape, torture and beat his brother into a coma, tortured kakashi, attacked konoha citizens, helped akatsuki kill the 7 jinchuriki, threatened high treason and planned to enslave his brother.
