I do not understand people I really don't. In a fictional universe talking animals is fine, breathing fire without burning their lips, people controlling their cells to regenerate, shooting lightning from their fingertips, transforming into inamimate objects with no harm to their internal organs and bodily functions, blowing away forests with the shockwave of a single punch, shooting countless flames from fists, creating forests instantly, changing the landscape of an entire planet, planetary destruction, projecting an eye onto a moon, mutated humans, travelling through time, creating black holes, creating an undead army, summoning souls back from the afterlife, immortality, Swords of Totsuka that can pierce anything, A shield that can reflect anything, an eye that can warp anything, and all these other magical/supernatural abilities are fine.

But lightspeed is impossible all of a sudden. wow in this manga. Here are the list of lightspeed techniques:

Kirin, Users: Sasuke
Summoning Lightning Blade Creation, Users: Sasuke
Flash (Issen) Iaido, Users: Samurai, Mifune
Laser Circus, Users: Darui, Cloud nin
Heavenly Transfer, Users: Mabui
Lightning Flash Pillar, Users: C, Cloud nin
Kabuto's Light jutsu, Users: Kabuto
Hiding in the scale, Users: 7 tail Jinchuriki Fu
Sage Art Light Fang, Users: Madara

The only techniques in that list that involve actual movement from the users are Haku's Ice Mirror, Samurai's Flash, Sasuke's Blade summoning technique. The Samurai swing their swords at the speed of light to send a wave of chakra flying at their opponents. So there's actual purpose for them moving at that speed.

Don't mention how light can travel around the planet multiple times. These techniques are not used in a race. Here's a question who is faster in a fight Usain Bolt or Muhammad Ali? See two completely different things.

Lightspeed techniques are just as common as any other technique in fact they are more frequent than Earth style techniques.

Because this ninjutsu makes good use of a natural phenomenon, one can invoke it using only a small quantity of chakra. Sasuke, aspiring to become the pinnacle of shinobi, finally tamed even "lightning" itself~~.

The enemy is destroyed by the sound of thunder!
