There's no steadfast rule about borders on sigs; they aren't supposed to be two black bars. It can be whatever the hell you want. :|
Having said that, I dislike the borders on the sig as well. It just doesn't look very appealing - it's as simple as that.

Overall, I prefer V2 because both polar corners on V1 are too dark. Maybe try blending the render a bit; especially on the top because their heads are a tad choppy and you can see that it's somewhat pixelated.

i do my borders differently then others, its appealing to me and i like it, dont see why everyone wants signatures to look exactly the same as every gfxers, but w.e
Everything else i did was on purpose, yah i didnt notice it till after, i didnt do a very good job at that
like i said, it isnt my best
