I've decided to make a thread depicting mine and other's overall theories on how Limbo was made and what it represents. I'll leave a poll for the fandom to decide the most legitimate one.
1. In my original Limbo thread, I theorized it was created via a combination of Madara and Izuna's MS techniques either naturally through the Rinngan's manifestation or manually via Madara's use of the Yin-Yang release. I believed his techs were Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. I supported this by Tobirama stating he had seen Kagutsuchi before Sasuke used it, as well as Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi paralleling Yin and Yang, in that Itachi described one as being the personification of the spirit world and light and the other the material world and darkness. Limbo's properties paralleled this in that Madara described it as being a shadow in a spirit world no one without the six paths power could see or touch, yet it could still make contact with everything.
2. An alternate theory of mine is that it represents Madara's dream of a false eternal peace in that in Dante's Inferno, Limbo is the circle of hell that represents a false heaven.
3. A third theory I came up with is that it is a technique created via the combination of the Preta and Naraka path techniques. Preta is the hungry ghosts realm and Naraka is the Hells realm. As I stated earlier, Limbo is the circle of hell representing a false heaven.
4. Finally, popular theory of late is that it represents the spirits of Madara's five brothers.
Which do you think sounds the most plausible? Or is it possible it is something else or more than one of these?
