Limbo is like Kamui

Shadow Madara can phase through things too. But the ability allows contact with real things.

The fact that the real can switch with the shadow means Madara is basically intangible

Limbo is such a weird ability.

Kamui is inter-dimensional ability, but it is more of a doorway to some sort of minor, empty, nothingness. It is like a pocket, or hidden room in reality itself or something.

Limbo on the other, summons another similar being from another world?! Or what the hell??!!?

Hands down, it has overthrown my previous jutsu fave, the Kamui.

And madara could only switch cuz senjutsu was used otherwise it wouldnt work on limbo.
Nothing like intangibility however when obito shown to negate mind transfer jutsu, neither will limbo help vs AOE senjutsu attack.

Well i said only senjutsu affects the clone thus substitution can only be achieved in case senjutsu attacks.

It case of AOE attack both clone and madara get affected as its impossible to block aoe with 1 clone.

So no intangibility in both cases, it was explained to be substitution FFS. What is wrong with you?

Obito could go intangible and not get hit and not get hurt by anything.
If Madara's "ghost" get's hit, the real Madara will get the pain shortly after. (Which is psuedo-intangible.)

So they aren't really the same.
Madara's Ghost is sort of intangible. (Madara can still be attacked as his Ghost transfers the pain to the real Madara after a short while)
Kamui makes the user completely intangible. (Kamui user cannot be attacked unless in the Kamui realm)

Limbo is completely different.. Kamui involves transfer of body from one dimension to the other while Limbo shadow remains in the same dimension and can be hit. Also switching places of body and shadow is possible.
