May I see a screenshot of how to apply them to the OP of posts. There is not an option for me to do so.

You cannot see that button on your own threads.

I think almost every thread have a thanks/like button, you don't have to "äpply" it, it is just automatic.
Also you cannot like/thank your own threads, thats why you cannot see the button, but i can see it .
