Seeing the training field, with the hands in my pockets I slowly make my way closer to it. It was a nice sunny day and I was just looking around seeing the crystal clear water, reflecting the cloudless sky. The bright sun, smiling upon everything on the earth, the birds and their melody, creating a whole orchestra of life. I arrived at the training field and there I stopped while my gaze goes towards my student. Taking the hands of my pockets I make a huge smile while looking at him, as i say.
Greetings!! I am Uzumaki Nikodo and I will be your teacher in the great element of lightning. So I wanted to start things a little easy as of now. Mind telling me..what is your name? Why do you want to learn lightning? And the last thing, what is your goal as a shinobi?

Seeing as Neji watched as his senpai was walking along, he gave off an expression of excitement. He was anxious to finally get his lightning training started and right when Nikodo spoke. "Hi!, I'm Neji Hyuga! This is the only element I haven't learned yet and it's about time I train in it! My goals? My goals are to become the best fighter, specifically Hyuga around!"

Tilting my head a little sideways, I notice that this individual was clearly a person who knew what he was talking about. You aren't supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but at for now it seemed that this was clearly promising. I smile while I face him fully looking at his eyes, which were burning with the desire to know.

Hearing as his sensei explained everything, Neji continued on to say, "You're correct sensei, and you're someone who can help me towards my goal!" Listening and resaying it in his head, Neji thought out the question and proceeded to answer....

Seeing the reply and knowledge Neji had, it seems like my intuition was not mistaken. He was a fairly smart intuition as he explained things fairly well. Even though the info itself was very raw, I give my own insights to this reply.
Alright, your answer was not bad at all, but if you don't mind, I will explain it myself, the way how I think lightning is and how it behaves. So listen carefully.
Lightning is one of the 5 basic nature transformations. Lightning is created by allowing your chakra to vibrate at really high frequencies , and as it moves faster and faster there will be sparks and flows of electrons visible which are a sign that the lightning element is created. This specific element will later allow you to create very strong piercing damage and very fast movement. Another very special trait is the fact that this element can in many cases numb the enemies movements which will give you one more chakra to finish them off. Now if you ask me, lightning is an element of pure death and destruction. Unlike the 4 other ones, they can even be used to breathe life, the heat of fire, calmness of water, versatility of earth, and free flow of the wind, lightning simply will kill everything it comes into contact with. And since you will be vibrating your chakra very fast, it will be hardest to control and one slight miscalculation will most likely cost your head. Lightning release is an element of pure destruction so it needs to be used with most precautions. I want you to be sure of the risk you are taking. Don't let this element use you, don't let it's raw power and speed fool you. Become a master of it, yield it into battle carefully, and come out victorious.
Getting this out of the way, I wanted to take about some misinterpretations or miss thoughts about this element. This element is not as fast as normal lightning. It actually is several times slower, and this is because of some reasons. If it were to move as fast as the natural lightning you wouldn't even be able to control it, in the slightest attempts you would simply be incinerated. And another one is that the amounts of chakra needed to make it that fast, are said to be so large that no real shinobi can carry them. You need to rely on external sources like the natural energy, and the bijuu chakra.
As for the relations with other elements, lightning has a very special relation with each and every element. Lightning release is a very rough, unpredictable one, so it is weird in most of the times, but please bear with me.
• Lightning is strong against earth release. This is because it is able to easily travel through the earth and break it up to such a level that it can't be controlled anymore. So when we say is it strong to, it means that one C-rank lightning technique is stronger than one C-rank earth technique. A C-rank lightning technique is strong enough to be equal to a B rank earth technique.
• Lightning is weak against wind release. This is because wind release has a natural property of being a natural insulator of lightning release. It is able to stop the flow of electrons in it, but this can't be said if you continue making the frequency of the vibrations even larger, this will eventually be able to break up wind techniques. The rules here is that a C-rank lightning technique, will pale towards a C-rank wind technique. Lightning as far as even B-rank, will not be able to beat a C-rank wind technique.
• Lightning has a very unique relation with water release. If they hit each other head one, we can say that they are equal in power, but water can benefit lightning a whole lot, because it will help lightning flow better. So if you make the enemy wet, before you chakra lightning at him, the damage will be a lot more efficient. Rule of thumb here is that C-rank lightning release, is equal to C-Rank water release.
• Lightning and Fire release has no real relation to be honest. They both are the strongest raw powered elements so they are pretty much equal in power, even though fire can be controlled easier. Rule of thumb here is simply C-rank lightning technique is equal to C-Rank fire technique.
As for Shape and Nature manipulation.
So the shape manipulation is one of the most important steps in creating a Ninjutsu. With shape manipulation we understand, the manipulation of chakra, so changing the shape, flow and direction in order to transform jutsu that already exist or create entire new ones. Which are all determined in size, range, and the overall purpose. By allowing your chakra to flow to a specific point of the space you can, at will, start creating an imaginary shape that the chakra will later fill up. You can make the flow of chakra faster and slower depending on the kind of jutsu you will use and you can adjust the size by depending on the density of chakra and the amount of it.
Unlike the shape manipulation, where you fill an image with raw chakra, in the nature manipulation, you give that chakra a special affinity, you do that by concentrating on the chakra you just released and changing the properties and characteristics. Just like on this case, in order to give chakra lightning affinity you will have to think about lightning itself, something quick, uncontrollable, and powerful. In the case of wind, something fast, free flowing, one with the environment, something that can move at great speeds and can cut through nearly everything, and so on for other elements.

Alright, since you have no questions we can continue with the techniques themselves. My method is fairly simple. I want you to perform the technique and mention some advantages and disadvantages. I expect maximum detail,make me proud in your replies and show me you can be the shinobi you want to be.
Fairly vague technique to be honest with you. Not really stated from where the lightning is created...I need to contact those Daimyo heads to fix this...But still, it is the very first lightning jutsu. You will slowly, radiate chakra outside your body is a very calm manner. Once you do that, use the shape manipulation to bring all of this chakra together in some spots. Once done, shape those spots into simple bolts while imagining bolts and filling that imaginary shape with chakra. Then slowly....Use lightning chakra to vibrate it fast, until all the chakra is turned into raw lightning. Once done...throw them towards my clone. You need to careful and aim. So get ready.

"I'm so sorry senpai, I mistaken you for someone else I was just talking too! My apologize Nikodo!"
Feeling ashamed of his mistake, he continued to proceed with his training, hoping he'd forgive him on that matter and better show his knowledge on the training.
Neji takes a stance and begins to gather chakra within. As he begins to accumulate his chakra he imagines how fast the focused lightning has to be. Deeply focusing on this image, he senses the motion of his chakra vibrating quicker and quicker until there is a faint, staticy discharge. Beginning to form the lightning chakra, he starts to apply shape manipulation to the chakra itself. Still deeply concentrating on the image of moving quickly while having the picture of a lightning bolt in mind, he shapes it into small bolts of lightning around his body. When Neji got the shape of the lightning chakra down, he launches forth the bolts to Nikodo's clone.
Some advantages to this jutsu is that it can be a rather quick jutsu to perform since it doesn't require any hand seals and has a distance range that extends up to mid range. This particular jutsu would be able to counter an Earth move of equal ranking and some C ranked ones as well, disabling that person's jutsu of D ranked while keeping even with the C one. The problem however is that it isn't particularly strong and this individual move could also get counter by a Wind jutsu, similar to how Lightning can beat out the Earth techs.

The performance was pretty well. But I would suggest something. Use nature manipulation always after shape manipulation. Using nature manipulation before, especially with lightning, will have the lightning run wild, which might hurt you. Just releasing chakra normal chakra will do no harm, and it is safer to shape the technique before you turn it into an element. Anyhow, lets continue.

Alright, this is a fairly simple one. Charge chakra inside your body, and when the amounts are the same as before, slam your hands into the ground. Now the relation between lightning will suggest, that lightning will break up earth. But as you slam your chakra, send your chakra and lightning nature towards the ground directed at your enemy. Now...keep your vibrations fairly small, so that you don't break up the earth, you will just use it as a means of transport. When it reaches your opponents feet, maximise them, shocking him. Take care with this technique though, you are forced to stay touching the ground till the attack connects. And the range is fairly limited.

Alright, this is a very simple technique. And pretty useful if you ask me. Charge chakra inside your body and extend your hands forward. Sending the accumulated chakra towards your extended arms, you will project them towards the palm of each hand. Now, use the nature manipulation first, creating a lightning bolt coming through your hand and shape manipulation to keep them somewhat controlled. They will fire at huge speeds against the enemy and will even reach to Mid range. Use them on my clone.

As Neji takes a steady stance, he starts to accumulate chakra within his body. Using that gathered chakra he slowly sends in towards his arms as he extends them forward. Upon sending the chakra to his arms, he then lastly sends it in his palms. Using nature manipulation he turns the chakra into lightning chakra and apply shape manipulation simultaneously keeps the lightning controlled and into a bolt that exceeds from the palms. As he has it controlled, he tosses the bolts towards the clone, striking it down.

Nodding after the performance I smile as i see Neji perform everything correctly. Being a young shinobi it seems that he is actually willing to do what he said in the beginning of the training. With the D ranks being done, we progress to more serious stuff. As I snap my neck once I continue.

A very nice technique. You will start by weaving through the handseals Tiger → Snake → Dog and extend your hands before you, with the palms facing forward. Now, charge chakra inside your body and send it towards your hands. Slowly release the chakra through the power of your skin, as you release it in form of a small connected bolts. Input nature transformation into it, turning the raw chakra into lightning which will travel before you in form of a current. This lightning can be fully controlled by you, able to evade obstacles and even attacks and people, and the range of it is so large it can be used perfectly in almost every occasion. What I want you to do is dodge the huge rocks everywhere and hit my close which is right over there. Clone waves his hand. Alright?

Taking his stance, Neji begins to make the hand seals Tiger → Snake → Dog. Upon doing this, he extends his arms out and begins gathering his chakra towards his palms. Having gathered enough chakra within his palms, he begins to focus of nature manipulation, slowly and steady changing his chakra into lightning, slowly arising it through his skin. Once at a perfect level, there are controlled currents around his hands. Seeing at his senpai's clone weaved some hands seals and shot some rocks over, Neji manipulated the currents towards the rocks and kept it flowing through the rocks to aim directly for the clone. As it goes fly, it strikes him, electrocuting him.
As his senpai's clone is taking a dip on the water, Neji begins to extend his arms forward and gathers chakra within his hands. Slowly and steadily, he begins to charge his chakra from within his skin, making an electrical surge around his hands. Once the clone has had enough of the water, he steps and giving Neji the chance to strike him. Not putting too much chakra into it, keeping it slightly weak and shooting it towards the unsuspecting clone whom gets a nice shock.

Performance was decent enough so can keep on going. If I were you, I would pay more attention and detail in everything. If you are executing an attack, you need to take everything into consideration, explain what limb you use, explain how you hit the enemy, how you step, where you look while you execute that attack, how you move your body, tilt head...ect ect. Keep your detail up and emotional status if you wanna make as little errors as possible. Let us continue!!

I make a clone facing you, while behind him was the steep cliff.
An easy technique to execute. I want you to charge chakra inside your body like anytime before, but when you are done, now release your chakra from your whole body, all around you. This chakra then you will keep close to your body and give it a huge vibration. Turn the raw chakra into lightning slowly and steadily. This lightning will be in form of an electric field all around you and it will help you dodge attacks, and if you come into contact with the enemy or anything else like a kunai it will release itself on that object. Be careful while touching friends with it. Now I will throw a couple of earth projectiles. if done correctly they would break up before they even touch you.

Alright, this one is different. What I want you to do right now, is perform some handseals, Snake → Upside down Tiger and clap your hands. Charge chakra inside your body and then slowly send it to your hands. Now, I want you to turn the chakra into lightning as you let it leak through the ground. Have the lightning just travel through the earth and not break it up. Go slowly through it and beneath my clone and over that cliff over there. You will break up one central rock and have a gigantic rock avalanche fall from behind the enemy. It is a fairly nice technique and very deceitful.
