No this is not my very first time training, well first time in lighting maybe but not in overall training (I blame my bio,I have yet to update it sorry about that) but anyways chakra. Alright so keeping this as simple as I can chakra basically are energy points or nodes in the subtle body which are essential to even the most basic techniques; it is the moulding of the physical energy present in every cell of the body and the spiritual energy gained from the mind. Once moulded, it can be channelled through the chakra pathway system , which is to chakra as the circulatory system is to blood.Methods such as handseals help with control and manipulation of chakra thus creating an effect that would not be possible otherwise, such as exhaling fire or creating illusions etc.
Now before I move on to the basic 5 elements I'll explain how one can achieve them, this is done through the process of nature transformation/manipulation.The chakra we make is pure chakra and thus needs to be converted into a number of different natures in order to allow us access to specific elements. The are five basic elements are Wind(Fuuton),Fire(Katon),Earth(Doton),Water(Suiton) and Lighting(Raiton), but in addition to these 5, one can also combine them in order to come up with something new and different while at the same time sort of containing characteristics from both parent elements (let's just call them that), i'm not going to go too much into detail but a few examples include wind and water to make ice or fire and earth to make lava. Hope that was sufficient.

Alright, so basically Lightning is one of the basic 5 elements, it allows the user to generate lightning by increasing the high frequency vibrations of their
chakra , thus allowing for piercing damage and fast movement. The electricity can paralyse the target so that they are unable to move thus leaving them vulnerable to an attack.
The relationship with other elements are, Lightning is strong against earth because it can easily make its way through and break the ground apart but weak against wind because it is a natural electrical insulator, but at the same time, lightning can potentially surpass the penetrative force of wind by increasing the users vibration frequency high enough (lets say I use a S-ranked lighting technique and you use a C-ranked wind technique, my technique would cancel yours out and continue, however it will be weakened).It also has a unique relation with water, since water conducts electricity. Well done, I'd like to add that while Lightning is quite a fast element, it isn't as fast as naturally generated lightning. Furthermore, note that not all Lightning release techniques can work in conjunction with Water, which is the next topic I want to get into. There are 5 types of releases in Lightning element, they are separated into categories based on how they behave and their characteristics.
Currents
These electrical currents or "waves" if you will, are unfocused types of lightning with little to no shape and are intangible. This method are the most conductive types of lightning, making them most suitable to be combined with other elements like water or steel. While they generally have widespread range, they lack destructive force to destroy stronger structures, and in return gains more electrocution damage, heavily relying on numbing/paralysing effects. Lastly, most current techniques relies on the user to continuously apply chakra to them.
Projectile/Bolts
This type of release falls somewhere between Current and Solid types, consisting on concentrated form of lightning send out from the user but without a defined shape. While they're somewhat intangible, they can be blocked with solid matter. These techniques often has an incredible destructive power and fair range making them quite versatile. Its important to remember; once these techniques are sent outwards from the user's body without any connection, they are self sustaining and do not require continuous stream of chakra from the user. Because of this, they can hurt the user the same way if he/she is caught in the technique. The rule applies to all other elements as well.
Solid
Requiring the most shape manipulation than all other types, this release focuses on manifesting actual solid tangible energy of lightning. With it, users can actually form objects or weapons they desire and its shape is only limited to the user's imagination. The type of damage they can do depends on the shape (a blade shape does cutting damage, a hammer does blunt etc.)combined with numbing/paralysing effects through physical contact. Unlike current types they are shown to have much more precision and penetrative force, however doesn't conduct as well. Depending on the technique, solid types can be self sustaining or require to be fuelled by chakra.
Melee
By using lightning's current and vibrations, one can increase their attack power exponentially and are applied to the user's body or even tools and weapons. These can be used with different ranges, vibrations allowing extreme piercing power or pure explosive energy of lightning. Melee method requires to be fuelled by the user.
Other
Like other elements, types that don't fall into the categories above belongs here. Because they don't have a definite pattern, I can't really say much about it until I teach those techniques.
I'd like you to go to the jutsu list and give me examples of methods above, just one each. You can leave out Other if you wish, but I'd like you to give it a shot.

Heres an example of a correct one as it doesn't fit with the rest:
Now lets move on to the actual training. Take this piece of paper, its made of a special tree that reacts even with a little chakra. With it, I want you to channel your chakra into it while you visualise a lightning crackling, the more turbulent the better.

The light can blind any enemy that sees it but its main ability is that, through skill and precise chakra control and timing, the user can use it as a cover to put the enemy into a genjutsu by using the light as a decoy, preventing the enemy from noticing the genjutsu was placed.
Note: Can follow with any Genjutsu the user knows up to A-Rank but needs to have mastered Genjutsu. The user will need to effectively spend two moves, performing both the Lightning Illusion and the Genjutsu; the first only serves as a cover to place the second unnoticed

I took the piece of paper and held the it between my left and right thumb and index fingers at its bottom corners and evenly began to concentrate raw chakra within myself. I then started directing my chakra into the paper,and whilst doing so I close my eyes and began to picture a bolt of lightning in my head and all the properties carried by lighting as an element, its speed, its "shock factor" if I could call it that and the sound it makes. I opened my eyes and looked at the paper as it began to wrinkle up. Did I do it right? Is this what it was supposed to do? I looked at my sempai with a confused look hoping he would say it was correct? Or not... to be honest i didn't mind doing it again after all I am here to learn.

That is correct. Now that you know how to channel your lightning nature manipulation, its time for techniques.
I'll explain the jutsu to you on how you will perform it and then I want you to tell me advantages and disadvantages of the jutsu, plus how you would use it in battle. Of course if you have questions about the jutsu, not hesitate to ask.

I was nervous,my knees could barely hold me up so I took a deep breath, cleared my mind and I began to channel chakra within both my hands. Using nature manipulation I changed the raw chakra into lighting based chakra. Shortly after I had focused it within my hands I took another deep breath and whilst holding my hands out in front of me, began to release the chakra as small lightning bolts from my hands. My first ever lighting tech and I nailed it !! ... .... ... I think. Anyways I looked over to my senpai with a huge smile on my face, waiting for some sort of sign of approval like a nod or something.

Well done. Keep in mind that a technique that has split projectiles don't equal the strength of the jutsu itself. For example, with an A rank technique with 2 separate bolts, each projectile's power is halved(½), ego B rank each. Same concept, an A rank technique with 4 bolts would split its power to (1/4) each, resulting D rank for 1 lightning bolt.
Along with performing the technique, Id like you to tell me advantages and disadvantages of the jutsu as well.

Again I quickly began to channel raiton based chakra within the palm of my hands, after having focused the chakra, I slammed my hands onto the ground and released the lightning chakra into the ground thus creating a surge of lightning to travel across the ground. I was quite happy that I did the technique with such ease.
Advantages
-It is very easy and can be performed very quickly as there are no handseals.
-does not consume alot of chakra due to its rank.
Disadvantages
-Can only go up to short range
-Since it's D-rank it probably does not do much damage to the opponent

I again begin to channel chakra within the palm of my hand.Having sort of gotten used to the whole nature manipulation thing, it didnt take me a very long time to have focused lightning chakra within the palm of my hand. I lifted my arm and took a deep breath and whilst holding my hand out in front of me, begining to release the chakra as a wave of numerous lighting bolts. This made me quite happy and somewhat hyper.
Advantages
-Can be performed easily as it has no handseals
-Does not consume alot of chakra due to its rank.
-Reaches Mid range
Disadvantage
-Does not do much damage

Perform Tiger → Snake → Dog handseals as you channel lightning chakra to your hands, before releasing an electric current outwards. The electric current should be able to cover a long and wide range, as well as avoid obstacles from its path if needed to be. Pretty good for tactical use.

I take a deep breath and hold my hands out infront of me before performing the Tiger → Snake → Dog handseals whilst I channel raiton chakra within them. My mind is cleared and all im thinking about is the lighting. I take another deep breath before releasing the chakra outwards infront of me, thus creating an electrical current to flow up to long range ahead of me. I look at my sempai with happy eyes

Nicely done.
Next up, release a surge of lightning chakra all around your body, creating an electrical current around you. This can protect you by electrocuting anyone that comes close to you, however its longevity is quite limited.
