Well, lightning release is one of the 5 basic elements in narutoverse. It allows you to create lightning by increasing the high frequency vibrations of your chakra. Lightning release enhances speed and piercing damage. Lightning release can be used to paralyze your opponent, leaving them immobile. Lightning release can be implemented on weapons like swords and daggers. In addition, you can also coat your body with lightning chakra, giving you the ability to move at high speeds.
Lightning release is strong against earth, because it can move at high speeds and easily pierce the earth, cracking it into many pieces. However, lightning release is weak against wind because wind is a natural conductor of lightning.
