Tamaki laughed sheepishly when Adachi responded. “Ah, okay,” he said. He noticed that Adachi had glanced up into the sky, and when he did as well, Tamaki saw that the rain had stopped for the moment. It was still cloudy, so he hoped that the rain would continue soon. Suddenly, Tamaki’s attention snapped back to Adachi when he slammed the ground. Tamaki watched with wide eyes as three pillars protruded from the earth.
He listened closely as Adachi explained the next portion of their training, and he nodded along, signaling that he was focused. When Adachi had finished, Tamaki held his chin with one of his hands, thinking about a Suiton technique that would work well in this case. He nodded again to confirm that he had chosen on. “Alright, here we go.”
Tamaki gathered his chakra and molded it into suiton chakra. When he felt that he had accumulated enough, he clapped his hands together. He released his chakra, and from the air around him, water materialized around him rapidly. The water spiraled around him in a powerful vortex until the water became a wave that flooded the area among and around the earth pillars.
Once the water pooled between him and his sensei, Tamaki gathered his chakra once more except this time, he created raiton chakra. He concentrated this chakra into both of his hands. What Adachi had said certainly applied here: Tamaki was charging raiton chakra within his palms. Before making contact with the water as Adachi had instructed, Tamaki made sure that he didn’t stand in the water. He then slammed his hands on the water’s surface, releasing his chakra as he did. Electricity discharged through the pool of water, surrounding the pillars of earth. Tamaki stood upright again, watching the lightning dance on the water’s surface.
“To answer your question,” he began. “this jutsu would be very powerful in battle because of the combination of water and lightning. Since water conducts lightning, the water is enhanced by the electricity, and thus becomes more powerful. This jutsu would also be useful because instead of just shocking an opponent with lightning, this jutsu uses the enhanced power of water and electricity together to create an even greater shock. So the chances of an opponent being defeated by this jutsu would be higher than he or she being defeated by a Raiton jutsu alone.”
Right as Tamaki had finished his statement, the lightning died down, and the pool of water became still again.
