Also, Wood style is weak against Lightning, which is one of the strongest Kekkei Genkais.

wood is suiton and doton. both get weak when hit with raiton.

Wind has no weakness at all. None.
fire. fire gets stronger if hit by wind

says who?

Manga. Look how Yamato's Wood style jutsu reacts to Sasuke's chidori:

Also by common sense: Wood style is combination of both, Water and Earth, which are BOTH weak against Lightning. It was also stated somewhere, not sure if in manga or databook, but can't look for it now because I'm late from School >_>

Lightning Element is the fastest and also has the greatest piercing power due the velocity at which it strikes.

Most lightning jutsus attack the opponent once, though with incredible velocity and power, which is usually enough to penetrate earth type jutsus.(Chidor/Raikiri/Hellstab, Lightning Armor etc.) Also earth conducts electricity due to the amount of minerals and substances in the earth that conduct electritity as well. Thats why it is considered the weaker element in comparison.

However, it is weak to wind element due to its free nature. You simply can't cut through wind as it will always hit you no matter where you are. Wind jutsus also causes a wide area of damage in comparison to lightning type jutsus, which only focuses on one single point.
Also while the duration of Lightning jutsus attacks only last for a few seconds, Wind type jutsus are capable of lasting for a very long time.

So think about it like this - Which causes more damage, a lightning bolt or a hurricane?

Think about it like this:
OFFENSE SPEED CONTROL DEFENSE
FIRE LIGHTNING WIND WATER EARTH

Fire - pure offense/destructive capability, but very little control and defense

Lightning - incredible speed/power, but with little control

Wind - the most versatile with good defense, offense, and speed. The easiest element to control.

Water - like wind, it is also very veratile with good offense, defense, speed and control, though has better defensive capabilities since it is more solid than air.

Earth - The best in defense with decent speed, and control due to the abundance of it. Just a bit lacking in offense more than the others simply because it its limited as to how it can move.

It was stated in the manga that wind has the strongest offensive power and that fire is right after it. I stick to the facts and not mere beliefs

It was stated that wind is one of the best offensive elements and was good for close range fighters like Naruto. Fire has the best offensive power followed very closely by lightning and wind.

These are not simple beliefs. You can look them all up yourself. These properties even apply in nature itself.

It's the best, and not one of the best

Its the best for close and mid-ranged fights.

This is about overall power.

Overall, Fire is more powerful and destructive than Wind. The wind itself would only serve to increase the destructive power of Fire.

Overall?? hmmmm lets see you have either close range, mid range or long range. Wind is the best in two of them so it wins.

Fire is most effective in mid-long range fights. Its the easiest to utilise, but the hardest to control due to its destructive nature.

Its very situational in that Wind would be more useful in a close range area due to its ease of control. Fire would be bad up close because it could also cause harm to the user as well.

Fire is more useful in a longer range where the user is safe from its destructive force.
Wind would be less useful for distance battles because it would require more effort to exert such power over a longer range.

Its common knowledge that Fire is well known as the most destructive force of all the elements as much as wind is noted to be the most free of all the elements.

I can agree with you on this point. So why is lightning less destructive than fire?

Its more that lightning would cause overall less damage than fire. Lightning is good for quick and powerful attacks capable of piercing through almost anything. Fire, on the other hand, causes more destruction over a general area than Lightning, which usually causes a great amount of damage to a specific area.

Think about it like this - What would cause more overall damage, a lightning bolt or a wildfire?
