This jutsu is simple projectile technique. The user after 3 hand seals will generate from their hands lightning which they send towards the opponent and mold it into a disk. You can send more then one disk; they are very fast and destructive. It can easily cut through some of the hardest rocks. It also has a shocking property. Each disk you send the more weaker they get though you can send a rapid amount to make evasion tough. You can send one disk and use another technique, its mobility is up to you to decide.

The famous chidori. The user will do 7 hand seals and generate the chidori into one of their hands. Now I don't think their is much for me to say that you might not already know. The chidori is a very destructive melee attack jutsu, one hit and the opponent will receive terrible damage. Not only can it pierce the opponent it will numb the area hit, so if the opponent does survive he will have a tough time to move. The chidori has a sound to it, which sounds like one thousand birds chirping, you can hear it easily so you can anticipate the attack. Its a concentration type jutsu, you must consistently fuel the chidori with chakra.

Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it only paralyzes. The lightning can be channelled through metal objects, as well as spread out into the air or ground.

Another known jutsu by all. The user will send non-focused lightning chakra through the entire body and release it towards the opponent. On contact it can paralyze the opponent, not kill though but its numbing ability is very strong. When channeled short range it covers the whole radius, if you send it at a opponent from mid-range it travels straight as a projectile on the ground or air. You can also channel it through metal giving it a shocking potent ability to the metal which can cut better and numb the opponent if hit with it.

Perform the technique: Time for more trees to die. Naori stands 8 m from a set of 3 trees in front of her. She builds up lightning chakra in her body as she envisions Krillin's Destructo Disk in her mind. Naori the performs the Monkey → Ox → Boar → Tiger hand seals to focus the chakra. She the releases the chakra through chakra points in her hands and uses shape manipulation to form it into 3 electrical disks. Naori directs each disk to a tree in front of her and the disks soon converge on their target. Each of the trees is cut in half and falls to the ground.
Creative uses/strengths: This jutsu has a lot of versatility. You can send one disk and then go on the attack or you can send up to 3 disks but stagger their timing. You can throw the disk at your opponent and then use a fire jutsu that forms in close proximity to them. This limits their options for defense since the most likely can't use wind, water, or earth. I also see this as a jutsu to try to lure an opponent to a specific spot on the battle field. With 3 disks this is possible.
Drawbacks/counters: A little on the slow side with since you have to perform 3 hand seals. The disk is really only potent if one of them is formed. Most wind gusts or wind blasts can serve as a defense and disperse the lightning disks. You can also use any tech that pushes you to long range out of the range of the disks.

Perform the technique: Naori sees a giant oak tree in the center of the grassy field she is standing in. It stands just 5 m away. She builds up her lightning chakra and envisions it's nature more than ever before. Sharp and piercing, fast and precise. She then performs the Ox → Rabbit → Monkey → Dragon → Rat → Bird → Ox → Snake → Dog → Tiger → Monkey hand seals and releases condensed and highly focused lightning into her right hand. She then swings her arm to the ground behind her (Sasuke style) and takes off with haste towards the tree. In the blink of an eye it's all over. A new tree needs to be planted as Genkai thrusts her arm forward and pierces straight through the tree.
Creative uses/strengths: One of the ultimate piercing jutsu. It really has application when one has mastered lighting. You can pierce any earth armor with this and and earth jutsu in general. It's also great to pull out in taijutsu battles as well if aimed properly. You can use this with one hand seal to break through walls or other physical objects in front of you and continue running.
Drawbacks/counters: 11 hand seals is ridiculous so if you don't have lightning mastered this jutsu can't practically be used. The chidori is also limited to short range and you have to keep a constant focus to maintain it. While using the chidori all other parts of your body are open to attack. If your opponent is close to the edge of short range you can fire a wind gust or wind blast to disperse the lightning. In closer proximity however evasion is the name of the game. You can use taijutsu to shift your position and change your stance for a counter attack. Their is also some wind taijutsu that can hit the chidori directly and counter it.

With her target set Naori builds up her lightning chakra and releases it throughout several chakra points in her body. She doesn't focus the chakra before releasing it and simply directs it as a projectile towards the deer. The deer takes one step in an attempt to escape but it's too late. The electricity hits the deer and paralyses it from the head down. Naori then takes a kunai and slits the deer's neck. She grabs the deer with her meal in hand and exits the meadow.
Creative uses/strengths: This would be interesting to use with genjutsu. You could make it so your opponent can't perform Kai. This is also great for quickly trapping opponents for techs that take a little time (such as mind transfer jutsu). This is a quick jutsu and can be used when your opponent is running at you. In essence you can keep your distance with this jutsu. You can also stop the formation of earth jutsu in the ground be channeling electricity through your feet.
Drawbacks/counters: At mid range you can only fire this as a projectile so it is a bit difficult to hit your opponent with it. Also the jutsu does no damage which is one of its few downsides. I know I'm being repetitive but a wide spread wind jutsu is the best defense to this. You want a jutsu that will hit all the electricity and be able to disperse it. I think you could also channel electricity around your body (lightning armor) and protect yourself, but I'm not entirely sure.

It causes devastating destruction on its way and generates enough heat and power to destroy whatever it comes into contact with.

After a small set of hand seals the user will place their hands on the ground and send a electrical surge through the ground cracking and tearing it through. It cuts through the ground all the way towards an enemy. The shape of bolt is triangular. The base will be in the direction of the user, while the tip towards the enemy. Now its a very powerful technique able to easily destroy the ground and tear through many metals and rocks. A huge downside is it moves quite slow since it takes up a shape of a triangle. The bolt will easily be heard when ripping through the ground, its also straightforward since you know the tip will attack the opponent, lastly you must keep your hand on the ground until the tip hits the opponent. When it does the opponent will be seriously wounded and down due to the destructive shock.

It has more specialized speed than the normal Chidori and can cause damage throughout multiple places on the body. Although it’s not stated, this technique probably takes on Chidori's characteristics such as its ability to cut through almost anything and numb parts of the body.

Its fairly simple but nice, with one hand seal the user will gather their raiton chakra into their hands and condense it creating the chidori. They will then raise the chidori high and release its energy which in turn release multiple needles which can pierce through an opponent and paralyze that area hit.This is a great distracting technique since it fires from all over the place it would be very tough on an opponent to dodge them and blocking is just as tough since their is a constant fire of them being released. Its fast and easy to perform. A downside is you must keep focused on the chidori to contently send the senbons towards the opponents area. So I recommend creating a clone, if you have the training of course to send a straight attack to hurt the opponent. Note you are also a target for water jutsus, so expect the opponent to use a water jutsu on you for if the palm with the chidori is wet the lightning will go crazy and shock your entire arm or body depending on just how much water is used.

It only goes short range, its a fast performing technique as well as a quick release. Very simple and basic, nothing you have not already seen. Its a projectile based attack as well.

Using shape manipulation Naori releases a huge triangular bolt of lightning from her hands that rampages through the ground in front of her. After a while the bolt dissipates.
Creative uses/strengths: You can cover a wide area with this jutsu and it is pretty powerful. I think this will be best used as the second jutsu in a string of attacks. You attack with a projectile through the air and then use this jutsu.
Drawbacks/counters: As you said the jutsu is slow and you must maintain focus to direct the lightning bolt. Also you have perform hand seals and place your hand on the ground to use this jutsu. To defend against this you can change your elevation and get off the ground. A number or wind jutsu can do this and some high ranking earth jutsu like great golem. You can also attack your enemy and force them to defend themselves and break concentration on the technique. You also have the option of pushing yourself to long range with a jutsu.

She then lifts her right arm in the air and using shape manipulation forms the chidori into countless senbon which she directs at the birds. The birds are quickly hit and drop to the ground.
Creative uses/strengths: This senbon will cover a huge area making this a great attack when you can't see an opponent. As you stated it is also nice if you have a clone on the field to use this with. This can act as an attack and defense when fired at projectiles. Some senbon will hit the projectiles and other will continue towards the opponent.
Drawbacks/counters: The main disadvantage is the takes a little time to perform and you have to maintain focus to keep firing needles. As you stated your also suitable to water jutsu. The best counter are wide spread jutsu that can hit all the senbon. Wind will be the most efficient at this but fire and lightning can be used as well. Earth and water jutsu should be avoided for counters here.

Creative uses/strengths: Great for taijutsu and close range battles. This is a jutsu that can be used almost instantly to hit your opponent. You can also if need be use this to break through earthen structures such as walls or domes.
Drawbacks/counters: This is only usable in very close proximity to an opponent. You also leave your self open to being caught in the explosion if to close or being attacked with a water jutsu at the last second. To defend against this you need to meet the ball of energy head on with a overpowering technique of your own. Hurricane fist could work nicely here. You can also use a taijutsu move to actually dodge where your opponent is going to strike.

Funny technique since it does generate any lightning whatsoever but it can work with combos and is very large. The user will 16 pillars after performing 3 hand seals which wrap around to create a box almost to trap anything within it. Its large enough to trap a summon or many opponents. The bind has a small box which you can send techniques in to finish an opponent off. The pillars are made of earth.

The spears also after piercing an opponent can release more spears at the tip to completely destroy the opponent.

The best part is if a opponent tries to evade the lightning can be manipulated and jump out the vortex to shock a evading opponent. It inflicts serious shock and pain.

She then performs the hand seals Rat → Monkey → Horse → Tiger and releases the chakra into the ground. 16 giant rock pillars arise from the ground and surround the large rock target after a few seconds. Once the pillars are fully emerged Naori builds up her lightning chakra and channels it through the rock pillars. The pillars shoot off electricity and cover the entire area between then. The targeted rock is quickly hits and crumbles into pieces down to the earth.
Creative uses/strengths: Personally I'm not a big fan of this tech. This is best when performed with a partner like a shadow clone. It's best use is against large targets and if it can be pulled off some combo attacks are available.
Drawbacks/counters: This jutsu takes a lot of time when battles are decided in fractions of seconds. You have to maintain complete focus to get the pillars to emerge and this takes a few seconds. You also have to perform 4 hand seals to start this jutsu which is a lot. To defend against it you can use a wide spread wind gust if the pillars have already formed and are firing lightning. The best defense however is to use a jutsu and destroy the pillars before they completely emerge from the ground. Also given the time it takes for the pillars to emerge you can escape the vicinity of this jutsu probably.

Perform the technique: Another tree another victim. Someone call Smokey the bear because it isn't just forest fires he needs to worry about. Naori stands 7.542 m from a tree in front of her. Drawing on her recent training she forms a Chidori in her right hand. She lifts her right arm pointing her hand in front of her and at the tree. Naori then uses shape manipulation to form the Chidori into a 8 m blade that thrusts forward from her arm and pierces through the tree. Naori moves her right arm in an upward diagonal slice and the tree is cut in half and falls to the ground.
Creative uses/strengths: Once the Chiodori is formed this jutsu is fast. It is just shape manipulation. You can direct it to hit a very precise location quickly. It has the added affect of paralyzing a target. I think this is perfect to go against the larger earth techs like golems and strong walls. If your fighting with a tall rock formation near your opponent you can aim this at the rocks and cause an avalanche to rain down on them.
Drawbacks/counters: This jutsu can only be performed after having formed the Chidori, so using it will take up 2 moves. Also even though the shape manipulation of the Chidori is fast since, the Chidori still takes a moment before hand to form and your opponent will have time to react. If you can anticipate this move then you can defend by firing a wind blast as the Chidori blade is formed. You can also attack your opponent with a earth tech from below (something quick) and disturb their timing and possibly their balance to form and aim the blade. You can also use fire or lightning to defend, but the tech should be one of a more physical form to make sure the Chidori blade doesn't just pass through it.

Perform the technique: Naori sees a large marble statue of Ramen Guy standing 9 m in front of her. It has to go. Naori builds up her wind chakra and releases it around her in the shape of a giant vortex with a dragon's head at its front. The vortex has a 5 m radius. She then builds up her lightning chakra and envisions it wrapping around the vortex like a spiraling string but never touching the wind. After the chakra reaches a peak Naori releases it into the atmosphere through her chakra points and electricity forms and wraps around the outside of the wind vortex. With the vortex formed and electrified Naori points her right arm forward and directs the dragon at the statue. The dragon hits the statue and the blunt force of the vortex shatters it into large marble pieces while the electricity incinerates the individual pieces. Nothing remains of the statue when the dragon disperses.
Creative uses/strengths: This is a jutsu well suited for large scale combat. The jutsu you use are often dictated by what your opponent does and this jutsu is large enough to counter golems, dragons,..etc. Out of large forming techs this one is relatively fast forming as it requires no hand seals. This makes it suitable for a quick counter. You can also use this gain the upper hand in battle timing by defending and attacking at the same time.
Drawbacks/counters: You have to maintain focus to direct the vortex which leaves you as an open target for attacks. An opponent can attack you from the ground below where the vortex doesn't cover you. You also have the same susceptibility to water as you do with other Raiton jutsu. To defend against this you can over power the wind in the vortex with a fire jutsu. If you hit the vortex on its side (from the left or right depending on which way it is rotating) you can cause a giant fire storm to form around your opponent and burn them. The dragon can only reach to mid range so you can use a number of techniques to push your self to long range out of the way.

Description: The user concentrates a lot of lightning chakra into their hand, compressing it into a ball of lightning energy. The user can then hurl it at the enemy or trust it forward in a melee attack. Once the ball hits the target, it expands into a massive lightning explosion.

Great for taijutsu or close proximity battle. This is a very fast and straight forward technique with a lot of application. You can use this to attack or use it to break through earth walls and domes.

If you have a Chidori already formed then you can quickly use this and fire lightning needles over a wide spread area. I put it at number 4 on the list because you have to form the Chidori before you can use this technique.

Its destructive power is great enough to even pierce through rock; meaning it has a high killing potential. The user can increase the number of spears to attack multiple enemies. This, coupled with the sheer speed of the lightning, makes it a difficult technique to evade. This strong attack can be defended against by an equally strong attack of the same element such as Raikiri.

With one hand seal the user will generate lightning chakra on their hands and release the lightning and mold it into a spear. This is very similar to the B-Rank False darkness spear. The spear though is much more powerful and runs much quicker, its attack potency is high and can pierce through even the strongest of earth. The spears act to pierce the opponent and paralyze them when pierced. The technique though does not go long range. The spear can only be cut away using a equal rank lightning jutsu or dispersed by a wind technique. Lastly the spears can split on the users command to deceive, or attack more then one target. Its a fast performance, projectile based technique.

The technique is best used if the user has a height advantage in relation to the target. The Thunderbolt is strong enough to leave a giant crater and cannot be used while being in Short-range of the target, at the risk of being hit also.

Another Chidori based technique, the user mid-air will perform the chidori and release the lightning chakra from the chidori into a very large thunderbolt which is shot at the opponent, it moves at amazing pace and has great attack potency. Note this technique can only be used if your opponent is in a long range. The bolts can pierce through anything and shock the opponent terribly. Its a projectile based attack after you send the thunderbolt. Its a great jutsu to use if your stuck in mid-air. Its very fast to perform almost instantly since no hand seals are required.

Another chidori technique, very fast to perform and easy. The user after making the chidori will spread from the users palm to cover a 120 degree. Its a fast moving technique and can cut through many attacks as well as shock the opponent badly. Its great to use to push an opponent back. After you send the lightning bolts from your hands it becomes a projectile based attack, its great to use for combos.

Perform the technique: Naori stands before a large rock 8 m in front of her. It's time for the rock to crumble. Naori builds up her lightning chakra and envisions a potent lightning bolt in the shape of a spear. Naori performs the snake hand seal to focus her chakra. She then releases the built up chakra through chakra points in her hands and using shape manipulation a powerful spear of lightning is formed between her palms. Naori directs the spear at the giant rock before her. When the spear hits the rock it breaks into a few slightly smaller pieces. Naori then branches the spear into 3 parts to hit the newly formed pieces of rock and destroy them.
Creative uses/strengths: As with the B rank version this is a very fast jutsu. I would use then on the run like it is used in the anime to attack an opponent. This is also perfect for defending against large earth techs like golems or stone dragons. You can easily cut through any earth armor with this as well. This is also well suited against multiple opponents as the spear can break off into several directions.
Drawbacks/counters: You have to perform a hand seal and then maintain focus to keep the spear going. Unlike the B rank version this version does not reach to long range. Not a lot of disadvantage with this jutsu however. To defend against the technique you can follow the description of the jutsu and use an equivalently potent lightning jutsu to meet the spear head on. With a powerful gust or wind blast you can also defend yourself and disperse the lightning. In either case a wide spread jutsu should be used in case the opponent elects to break the spear off in multiple directions.

She runs 2 m, bends her knees, and focusing chakra in her feet pushes off the ground and jumps 12 m into the air in a parabolic fashion towards the tree. At the peak of her jump and covering half the horizontal gap between the tree and her self Naori builds up her lightning chakra and releases it into her right hand forming a chidori. She then now at 10 m in the air claps her hands together and uses shape manipulation to form the Chidori into a large thunderbolt. The thunderbolt is directed at the tree and in a flash hits it violently piercing through it and bringing it crashing to the ground.
Creative uses/strengths: A great counter if your stuck in the air. You don't have to change your position to use this technique. This would be great to use on top of a stone golem provided your careful not to hit your own golem. Without the height advantage this jutsu is only capable of defending against earth jutsu and not attacking a person.
Drawbacks/counters: To attack an opponent you have to get to mid air which can leave you open to attacks during that process. Also you have to perform the Chidori before hand so to use this jutsu it will count as 2 moves. A fast wind jutsu is the best counter for this. Preferably something spit from the mouth with one or no hand seals. You can also defend with a S-Rank lighting tech as well but this is risky as you may not get it off in time.

Perform the technique: Man, the trees just won't go away. What is with this field anyway? Naori stands 7 m from 6 trees in front of her. Drawing on her recent memory she builds up her lightning chakra and releases it into her right hand in the form of a massive Chidori. She then lifts her right arm pointing her right palm forward. With her palm point forward she uses shape manipulation and forms the Chidori into a 120º blast of lightning the spreads outward in front of her and rampages towards the trees. The blast of lightning hits the trees and they crumble to the earth from which they came.
Creative uses/strengths: The size of this jutsu is its best advantage. You can simply fire this off and cover a wide area and then move on to your next attack. I would send this blast of lightning and follow by sending a fire tech right behind it. Your opponent is they counter with wind is going to cause a huge fire storm to go off on them. This can also be used to attack and defend at the same time against projectile weapons and elemental projectiles.
Drawbacks/counters: As with the other Chidori varients this jutsu will require you using two moves to perform. Beyond not being able to extend this to long range, I really don't see anything else wrong with this jutsu. To defend against it you can once again use a wind spread wind gust or blast. You also have the option of countering lightning with lightning as well.

Note: Only the spear extention can reach up to mid range.

This is a advance version of the lightning spear. Now with the spear alone, you could move it around and cut through many tough rocks. The spear is very useful to keep a distance away from an opponent, it also acts as a chidori which on contact will numb the area of the opponent if caught. You can wield the spear with great ease, it can cut through the most solid of metals. Its great to use to finish an opponent off, and the spear when release is very quickly. Now the spear extends mid-range (10m). The spear now if the opponent is pierced by it, the user can send extra chakra to the tip to create a explosion which can destroy the opponents inside. Its very deadly.

Note: Can follow with any Genjutsu the user knows up to A-Rank but needs to have mastered Genjutsu. The user will need to effectively spend two moves, performing both the Lightning Illusion and the Genjutsu; the first only serves as a cover to place the second unnoticed
Note: Can only be used once every three turns

After doing the hand seals the opponent will generate a blinding light from their body. The light can easily blind the opponent obscuring the opponents vision, this is best to use against an Uchia, Byakugan users can see through it easy, I would also say its good to use against a Rinnegan user. The performance is quite slow but the light is generated fast. Its a very simple technique, and its meant for combo making. You can anticipate that the opponent will try to use an attack on you. When the user does use this jutsu, they will not be able to even look at the user for the duration. Notes are that the longer you keep generating your chakra the longer the light stays but you must keep focus and can not be able to use another technique. Its great to use with an ally or clone who is right behind you, not worrying about the light.

According to Might Guy, it gained its name after Kakashi split a bolt of lightning with it. Because the Chidori is already powerful on its own, the Lightning Cutter requires better chakra control, which is exemplified in its appearance. The Chidori appears as simply a mass of white electrical chakra in the user's hand, while the Lightning Cutter is much more focused. Kakashi has shown different ways of forming and using the Lightning Cutter, unique to him. For example, he demonstrated the ability to imbue a projectile weapon, such as a kunai, with his Lightning Cutter, granting the technique long-range capabilities by throwing the kunai towards his target. In this instance, the kunai was capable of piercing through multiple large rocks with ease, without any loss of momentum or change in trajectory.
Note: Kakashi biographies can use the technique without hand seals.
Note: Only Kakashi biographies can apply the technique to a kunai and use it as a projectile attack.

I'll be explaining this technique as if you have a regular bio and not a kakashi bio. The user will do 3 hand seals and create a serious condensed amount of raiton which appears almost completely white. It has a serious amount of power so much though that it can cut through actual lightning making it one of the most powerful techniques in the lightning jutsu list. It is mainly used as a melee weapon great for close range battle. This technique has the ability to cut through many dense objects. In short it is very similar to chidori but in a more advanced form.

Perform the technique: Naori sees a bear standing 12 m away. This would be the prey, the target. With haste Naori takes off running towards the bear. As she runs she builds up her lightning chakra and releases it into her right hand in the form of a Chidori. She then trusts her arm forward and closing the gap to 10 m she uses shape manipulation to form the Chidori into a lightning spear. The spear quickly pierces the bear through the chest and Naori lifts up her right hand lifting the bear into the air. She channels one final bust of lighting through the spear and a lightning explosion is set off on the bear. The bear falls to the ground as a dead corpse.
Creative uses/strengths: Once the Chidori is formed this is a very fast jutsu to perform. I really like the application of this to attack earth structures and bring rocks colliding down on an opponent. You can easily swing your arm and attack an opponent and his surroundings. The explosion at the end is a nice touch as well.
Drawbacks/counters: Once again this counts as 2 moves. Your also slightly limited in range since you can't extend the spear past mid range, but this isn't much of a disadvantage. To defend you need a fast jutsu. You can use wind but you want to use something without hand seals if possible. You can counter with a quick lightning tech of your own to defend.

Perform the technique: This time Naori turns to Noni who stands 8 m away. She builds up her lightning chakra and envisions a pillar of blinding lightning. As she does this she performs the Ram → Horse → Snake → Tiger hand seals to focus her chakra. She then releases the chakra from several chakra points and a blinding pillar of electricity if formed the projects from Naori's body. The brightness of the pillar blinds Noni as Naori continues to fuel chakra to the pillar. Naori however elects not to perform a genjutsu and stops the technique after a few seconds.
Creative uses/strengths: The uses for this are endless. You can blind your opponent and then use a quick jutsu to catch them off guard. The genjutsu combo is an interesting one and I might try it out against a dojutsu user. Have a clone attack while the user performs this jutsu is the best option imo, as you already stated.
Drawbacks/counters: As you stated the hand seals make this jutsu kinda slow. Also you have to maintain focus to keep the pillar formed. The light will make it so you can't look at your opponent so you could lose track of them. To counter I would form something large in front of me to block the wall. This could be a dome, a wall, or a number of things. You can also elect to attack your opponent with a wide range jutsu so it won't matter if you can't see them or not.

Perform the technique: It's time for another fodder tree to die. Naori stands 5 m away from the next victim. She builds up a huge amount of lightning chakra and performs the Ox → Rabbit → Monkey hand seals to focus. As she does this she envisions a highly compressed and highly focused short blade of lightning. She releases the lightning chakra in her right hand and using shape manipulation the lightning blade is formed. This in a flash Naori takes off running and arrives at the front of the tree. She thrusts her right arm forward and pierces straight through the tree. The lightning flows into the tree and it quickly crumbles to the ground.
Creative uses/strengths: Good for taijutsu battles and close proximity battle in general. With this you can pierce through even the toughest armor jutsu. You can also use this to split and thus defend against powerful lightning jutsu.
Drawbacks/counters: This can only be used in short range and the jutsu is either hit or mist. Assuming that only Kakashi can one hand seal this, the hand seals become a major limitation. If close proximity this jutsu is almost impossible to defend against. If your opponent is running towards you with this you use an earth tech below them to throw them off balance or force them to defend themselves. At running range you also have time to fire wind blasts or gusts. In taijutsu range I don't know to to defend against this to he honest.

The user will create the lightning blade and split in in half with the other hand. This will mean the opponent will have two lightning blades in each hand. Each being the power of A-Rank due to splitting them in half. Then with blazing speed you will zig-zag to the opponent and slam them with both the blades killing the opponent and paralyzing them. The speed of the movement is very quick, and due to the zig-zag moving it becomes difficult for the opponent to attack, it would be best to use wide range attack or to manipulate the ground to slow down or trip the opponent up. Its a brilliant technique and harm to counter.

Description: After using a fire jutsu to heat the atmosphere and create thunderclouds in the sky, the user will use Chidori to take control of the lightning above. They can then make the lightning strike an opponent in the blink of an eye.

Note: In the turn before the use of Kirin, the user must have used at least a B-Rank, Long Range Fire (Katon) technique directed at the sky.
Note: User needs to post Chidori, meaning that in the turn Kirin is used, the user spends 2 moves.

The famous jutsu Sasuke portrayed. Now after using at least a B-Rank fire jutsu and sending it into the atmosphere. You will wait one turn for dark storm clouds to generate over the battlefield and they will be with real, large and powerful lightning. Then the user will perform the chidori and then send the lightning dragon from the clouds down towards the opponent. This is one of the most lethal jutsus, now its almost impossible to evade. Only if you have S/T can you evade this technique, other then that you must have a absolute defense. Examples could be that of Susano'o, their are other examples but not on the jutsu list mainly if you have a special bio or able to create a strong custom to defend against it. Now this does not mean you have to take the kirin head on, it takes one turn to create the clouds, so you are best to blow them away with wind technique, its also best to try and make sure the opponent does not have a clear view of yourself. Its one of the deadliest techniques, and tough to stop but it takes very long to perform.

Naori draws on her previous training and builds up lighting chakra in her body. She then releases the chakra in her right hand in the form of a lighting blade. Naori then brings her hands together and uses shape manipulation to split the blades into both hand. With haste Naori takes off running and thrusts her arms forward piercing through the tree. The tree crumbles to the ground.
Creative uses/strengths: Not much to say that wasn't already said in the lightning blade tech so I'll keep it brief. This has the same use as the prior jutsu but is more versatile as you can strike in 2 areas instead of one. This makes each blade less potent but other wise the jutsu is the same.
Drawbacks/counters: Same drawbacks as in the lighting blade jutsu. This technique however requires two moves to perform instead of one. To defend I agree that you should use an earth tech to slow down your opponent and/or make them defend themselves. You can use wind if your kick and you have enough distance.

Description: After using a fire jutsu to heat the atmosphere and create thunderclouds in the sky, the user will use Chidori to take control of the lightning above. They can then make the lightning strike an opponent in the blink of an eye.
Note: Can only be avoided with time/space techniques or otherwise absolute defenses.
Note: Can only be used once per battle.
Note: In the turn before the use of Kirin, the user must have used at least a B-Rank, Long Range Fire (Katon) technique directed at the sky.
Note: User needs to post Chidori, meaning that in the turn Kirin is used, the user spends 2 moves.

Perform the technique:Naori stands ready. Her chakra is weak and barely remains steady. Spiting mad lightning here today already. Builds up chakra, and lifts her arms which are heavy. She forms the tiger hand seal her focus is deadly. Naori loses herself and takes a deep breath, it's time to put that tree to rest.

Lost in the moment the time is here. Naori spits fire, to the sky it draws near.
Naori lets it go but makes sure to shape it. The fire becomes a dragon by manipulation.
In one shot, the dragon hits the sky and it becomes hot.
Crispy, crackle, crumble all will soon be forgot. Naori fires more shots, and waits for lightning to form.

After firing the shots in the sky and waiting the equivalent of one full turn the sky darkens and lightning forms in the clouds. Naori builds up her lightning chakra and releases it into her right hand in the form of a Chidori. She then uses the Chidori to take control of the lightning above and form it into a dragon. Naori swings her right arm forward and the dragon descends from the sky and crashes into the tree in an instant. The tree becomes no more.

(Katon: Ryūen Hōka no Jutsu) - Fire Release: Dragon Flame Release Song Technique

Description: After performing the hand seal Tiger the user compresses a large amount of chakra built up inside their body, before instead expelling it in the form of a number of dragon head-shaped fireballs. The user then skilfully manipulates that great fire, and attacks their opponent. The temperature of the created flames is so great that, even with the briefest of contact, they are capable of easily burning human flesh and the fireballs are dense enough to behave almost as solid, being able to deliver impact damage in addition to the fire damage. However, this also means that they can be deflected as a solid projectiles.

Creative uses/strengths: The advantages of this jutsu are obvious. It is faster than everything except space time ninjutsu. You can use this at long range and strike your opponent down with ease. I don't think any elemental cannon jutsu can defend against this outright.
Drawbacks/counters: It takes a long time to set this jutsu up. Also the setup will be incredibly obvious to an opponent. You also need the equivalent of 3 jutsu to completely perform this technique. To defend as you mentioned you need something like Susano or another absolute defense. You can blow the clouds away (never thought of that) with a powerful wind jutsu. Also I would be inclined to get in short range of my opponent if I saw the clouds forming for this. Your opponent isn't going to direct this near himself. I'm also curious to know what would happen if you used hiding like a mole to go into the ground as the clouds form. Of course this would leave you open to swamp of the underworld and a host of other earth jutsu.
