Boruto has it.
Sarada has it.
Shinki has it.
Mitsuki has it.

Even the Koto device gave Boruto purple lightning.

Why are they making Lightning affinity so generic? This sucks.

It is clear you didn't watch shippuden. Naruto had way more variation, the lightning affinity in Boruto is just ridiculous. No originality whatsoever. Almost in every Boruto episode there is someone spamming lightning..

Because apart from fire, lightning is the coolest looking element. They want to milk it as much as possible, the only one who should really have lightning is Sarada. She's the one that's stated to have inherited Sasuke's talent + Sharingan so can take maximum benefit of it.

You are the one considering it might be bad (I guess you know deep down inside the truth). For me its just lack of creativity and originality, nothing new with this anime 'tho.. They are just riding Kishimoto's leftovers.

Commenting, participating and making theories is different from being hyped. I like to discuss everything related to the Narutoverse. Not everyone needs to be borderline in behaviour.

I really love when you lack arguments and pull this type of comments like they meant something and your deflection won't change the subject of this thread.

Honestly, Boruto just has no business or purpose to have lightning, and it just makes it look like the writers sucking his dick to make him popular. He doesn't need 3 elements as a 12 year old. He doesn't need 75% of all screen time for his very slight and meaningless development from cheater to non cheater, and his mild daddy issues. For a "Prodigy" he sure does suck, considering he is bested by taijutsu and shurikenjutsu and Genjutsu by sarada, bested in most fields by Mitsuki, and even his classmates are better than him in other small ways. (Not stronger overall, just have better areas of expertise.)

My point is, how is he a prodigy? I swear its only because he has 3 ELEMENTS. he has done nothing else special AT ALL. and he sucks with water and lightning, compared to what other characters can do with their own elements.

Honestly, his classmates other than team 7 largely suck. The new generation is slightly weaker. They don't have any power houses like part one had Gaara and Sasuke (Even Sarada is slightly weaker than sasuke, only due to her... poor use of sharingan. Though she's never had someone to train her and she just got it.) Boruto being called a prodigy in this generation is hardly saying anything.

Shinki is a prodigy. Sarada is an Uchiha with potential. Mitsuki has a massive trump card and true ninja instincts.

Boruto? has three elements that are weaker than his Kote device.

Even Shikadai was going to beat him. Sure it was with a surprise move that would not work again, but for a brief amount of time, Shikadai outclassed Boruto. That is not prodigious.

Very good opinion. Boruto was just called a prodigy, while he has shown one or two feats that are actually different there is nothing that sustains his label. The rub is real. I just hope that later Boruto goes rogue and makes up for this bs.

I agree...but imo all the elements are equally cool. It's just according to who's using each element.

Kisame and tobirama were in their own league

I never meant in that sense any element is only as good or as cool as whoever uses it.

Lightning stands out more because it can be used with CQC, weapons skills and kenjutsu which adds to it's appeal especially the rippling and crackling effects it produces. It an element that embodies power similar to katon which destroys everything in its path and can burn people alive.
