Light vs Dark abilities

Remember Itachi and Yamato telling Naruto about the different types of nature manipulation, and they stopped short of using "dark" abilities, or something of the sort... because it would only confuse Naruto...

What exactly are those types of abilities? Does Shikamaru use that type of jutsu?

i don't know exactly but im guessing that instead of using an elemntal type of attack you use a light vs dark type of attacks, let's see an example..ummm nope i can think of one...haha im trying to rely on what is the usual tendency in other animes between the whole dark vs light issue but i can't come up with a decent opinon towards naruto maybe kind of like demon kind of attacks vs normal human attacks?

good thinkgin but then if genjutsu is dark what will it's light counter part be? maybe that's why he didn't explain it cuz it wouldn't just confuse naruto but the readers as well hahaha

HAHA Hilarious! Now those are some funny "dark" jutsus...

I was thinking dark = "banned techniques"... versus "normal" light ones.

For instance, Shikamaru...
He uses Shadow Bind... but then develops the Shadow Strangle
... is that considered the "Dark" side of his "Light" technique?

Also, isn't the Shadow Clone jutsu supposed to be banned... yet SOOO many ninjas know it...? Is Shadow Clones considered "Dark" ??? ALSO doesn't Kakashi have an exploding Shadow Clone... is THAT considered the Dark side of that specific technique???

Maybe the difference between Amaretsu vs. Susanno??? Dark flames vs Susanno for protection? Thats probably the most polar opposite technique variation for 1 person.
