What do you think of the current LGBT laws in North Carolina? And most recently, Mississippi?

Sorry, I don't keep up with Canadian/American news so often. But I do know that Canada has always been friendly toward them.

My ignorant opinion: "People have free will. They can do what they want, who are us to dictate how someone lives their life/lives?"

, allows companies freedom from punishment in housing and employment discrimination on the basis of sexuality, and would also allow companies not to serve LGBT people. Physicians could decline to provide healthcare to transgendered people. So basically, treating LGBT people like America treated black people during the legalized segregation era.

The basis for the law is that religious freedom trumps the civil liberties of others.

In vitro fertilization would be denied to same-*** couples as an option for them to have kids.

Adoptive and foster parents would have the right to send their LGBT children to conversion therapy, which is not scientifically supported and is in fact considered harmful.

Private organizations could restrict bathroom usage freely.

That said, there were no protections for LGBT in place in Mississippi to begin with.

, the laws also allow discrimination. You also don't need religion as an excuse to fire LGBT people. It has undone all LGBT protections in the state. Cops can force people to show them their genitals if they think they might be transgender.

All in all, they're terrible examples of hateful legislation and those who support them should be ashamed.
