Let's Trade Eyes

To obtain EMS, can't two Uchiha siblings simply trade eyes with each other instead of one just stealing it from the other? ​

By what were told in the stories yes, but from what we’ve seen it seems to be a transmigrant thing so far as supposedly others did try to obtain ems

no, cus if one loses his/her eyes then you can't get them back by getting someone elses, you need 4 eyes for the ems to work.

They say not all who try it will get ems. Possibly, they'd both need to have had awakened every power of their mangekyo (Tsukyomi or Flame control or whatever,amterasu and Susanoo)

Yeah its practically possible,unless both Uchiha's Went Blind due to excessive usage of their respective Mangyekou Sharingans.
As far as we know Both Sasuke and Madara unlocked their EMS only after their MS went null. if you just transplant another Null MS into your own Null MS, It is possible you still will have blind EMS after the transplant in that case.

i think you can awaken the EMS only after you've known to use your MS until the point where you go blind
otherwise imagine an Uchiha with MS that could straight up kill someone and take his/her MS only moments after awakening it

EMS isn't just a power-up, it grants the user unrestricted Mangekyo and a huge chakra boost, it's essentially an incarnate's power because they gain a level of eye power close to Indra's.

Itachi's claim that he needed Sasuke's eyes were a bluff, he already planned on dying and wanted to describe to Sasuke how to get a new power-up without looking like he's trying to help his brother.

There's probably something about the act of killing your sibling and taking their eyes itself that's required to reach EMS. I doubt just having their eyes would cut it.

That depends on how the EMS process goes.

I personally don't think it's a simple case of changing eyes, To obtain ems one of the pair of eyes is left either destroyed or it's ocular power drained/useless and transferred over to the new set of eyes.

Mangekyou is fusion of yin and yang. One user must be blind for the other recipient to get EMS and vice-versa, to balance the yin and yang. The spirit living inside the user when he awakens the MS has yin and yang but as the user uses MS more and more, gradually the yang power of the eyes deteoriates leaving just the yin. To regain light = yang, the MS user must take a pair of "yang" eyes or implant hashirama's cells(yang) into his body to get eternal light. And the blood ties should be tight to allow the eyes to "fit perfectly" as Sasuke stated " Itachi's eyes fit perfectly"

which is the exact reason why uchihas cant trade eyes since trading eyes would mean yang + yang, which wouldnt balance the equation of yin + yang resulting in utter collapsing instead of eternally gaining light.
