Do you remember the good old days? the begining of naruto... taijutsu, genjutsu, ninjutsu... when characters were very skillful, and dependent on their abilities and experiences. had to train alot to accomplish their goals. remember the chunnin exam? ah the good old days... when battles were realistic (as realistic as they can be in this sort of manga and anime) and epic. fighting, exchanging punches, being skillful, not throwing chakra at each other.
There is one thing i'd like to discus: power level.
to explane: we have Harashima who is considered the god of shinobi, the ultimate and beyond any doubt the most powerful ninja that ever existed (besides So6p), Tobirama his brother, Hiruzen - said to be the third person to be named the god of shinobi. Madara, Jiraiya, Minato, Tsunade, Orochimaru, other Kages - especially the Raikages, Itachi, Nagato, Sasuke, Naruto and so on...
In the begining of the manga and anime, Kages were considered to be the most powerful ninjas in their own villages. True as that may be they were not the most powerful ninjas there are. but lets get back to the point of the thread. I'd like to start from the chunnin exam. Hiruzen fougth Orochimaru and he fought well and was able to fight against edo Harashima and edo Tobirama and hold guard pretty well. he faought them off and took Orochimarus hands in exchange for his life. So lets say that Hiruzen was not stronger than Orochimaru but pretty close.
Orochimaru, Tsunade and Jiraiya were three great sannins. Almost equal in power, with great skill and experience in warfare. But I'd like to thing that Jiraiya and Orochimaru were slightly stronger than Tsunade (phisical strength is not the only thing needed to be strong in war, there's also speed, tactics, genjutsu and ninjutsu). Tsunades power was exceptional, brute physical strength and healing abilities, but I've never seen her using genjutsu or ninjutsu of any other kind other than to heal.
Jiraiya was chosen to be the next hokage but he refused, that's why they went to look for Tsunade. During Narutos training with Jiraiya, Jiraiya suffered fatal injuries when Naruto turned 4 tails kyubi mode. So lets say that in that state Naruto was stronger than Jiraiya. Therefore Naruto was stronger than Tsunade (but only in that state - 4 tails kyubi mode with rage). Lets now skip a ''few'' chapters. Jiraiya never managed to complete the sage mode, Naruto has completed it and defended the village against Pain. Tsunade was helpless , people tell me that that's because she spent all her energy healing the men in battle, but as most of us know even if that was true she wouldn't have stood a chance against Pain. Pain killed Jiraiya who was stronger than Tsunade. So - Naruto sage mode waaaaaay stronger than Tsunade.
And this is where it all gets complicated. Chakra leaking all over the place, power upgrades out of nowhere, illogical abilities and all sorts of things.
Naruto fought Kyubi and gained access to his powers. OK. why in the hell is he glowing? Bee doesn't glow and he is friends with Hachibi, he could give him his power too (Hachibi that is). Nevermind that for now. Naruto fights Raikage who is stronger than him by far even though Naruto can now control the kyubis power, and faster too. Hiruzen as a Hokage is a mouse comparing to Raikage then. why is the Leaf the strongest village? What can I say. Moving on. Why is Tsunade there? To stop Naruto? Oh please. Weaker than normal Jiraiya,all of a sudden she is at Biju mode Nautos level??? WTF?
Moving on. Naruto escapes Raikage and runs into Nagato and Itachi. Who is stronger? Of course, not Naruto. Our BIJU MODE Naruto gets his ass kicked by Nagato alone. OK. Moving on.
What I'm trying to say is that from chunnin exam, from the begining of Naruto storyline, everything war awesome. Fights were epic, especially Naruto vs. Sasuke. They used taijutsu, MODEST ninjutsu and genjutsu. NOW they're dragonballing each other all over the place (and yes, I invented that term - It's a copyright thing now
). Manga now has become too much of power upgrades which don't make sense. Everybody is the strongest now, everybody is SSJ3. Except for Naruto hehehe he just keeps getting owned. Your thoughts?
