It can be but if gaiden is animated while the main series is still doing fillers than there is something truly wrong. Hell if any animated naruto comes out while the main series is doing fillers ill just quit watching the anime for good.

It's probably not, but I'm hoping it's a show that's like Naruto SD, but with the new generation instead of Team Guy. I loved SD so much. I would love to see all these new characters being developed in that kind of wacky format.

It's either english sub or "something else" because, as said above, the anime is still running. I dont see a new series or a gaiden animated series while the original is still making episodes........

Anime still running? pfft that does not matter. 2 movies has been released, which shows the naruto fans what happened after the manga ended.

OR... OR the countdown is when the fillers finally end (a man can hope)

My theory is that they're going to announce that they're going to make Naruto Fillerpuden GT featuring copy pasta boruto, saladina and chocho-sandwiches. The plot are exams, pedobears attack konoha, naruto used female jutsu and he can't go back!

Naruto the best anime of all time. The manga is one of the best for sure and the movies are top tier dawgs.

I don't see the point behind the countdown unless he plans on continuing the story (which I highly doubt) and I also doubt it has anything to do with animating Gaiden (whether be subbing or dubbing) as Kishimoto himself doesn't need to make that announcement.

pardon me if I'm saying non sense, but if it's new animation then shouldn't it be on the studio's site ? not the shonen jump's site who is taking care of the manga ?
could it be a new arc on the manga made by another mangaka under kishimoto's supervision ? I mean, he can just give the ideas and someone else can draw it his manga is so famous that their are lots of mangakas that can copy his style of drawing...I hope that's it, but I know it's very unlikely
