It bends space and compresses it into the hole. before the target is completely closed off in the barrier nothing is really done except the visual distorting. That is why Deidara was still alive even the Kamui passed over his head. If what you say is true then Deidara's neck would have broken due to the distortion. The actual damage only comes when the barrier closes off its target.

That could be more down to Kakashi not having any real control over the jutsu at that point than anything else. In truth, Preta Path is hardly an instant defence and depends on whether the user is anticipating an incoming attack. I'm under the impression that Kamui could create a hole in Fūjutsu Kyūin before it, or the user, has time to react.

Kamui works most likely like Tobis S/T jutsu. He creates a portal that transfer everything in another dimension. How can you absorb space? Space is the only thing that has a distortion here. It's as if you were saying that Preta could absorb Tobis S/T jutsu

That is true if Kakashi just uses it for a small point. We have seen that the larger the target, the longer it takes to take out. The question is how fast can Preta path activate, because it can absorb the chakra that makes up the S/T barrier.

Tobi's is only based on himself. Kakashi's creates his barrier on an distanced target. The chakra is at the S/T barrier in both cases.

So how does the barrier exist if the is no chakra to create it. That is like saying the chakra for fire ball jutsu is kept at the users body and isn't in the fire ball or that the barrier created by Kushina is just in her body and not at the actual barrier. :sy:

Tobi uses his chakra to create the "kamui" in reverse direction (towards himself ) thus absorbing himself.

Kakashi uses the chakra to creat a worm hole at a distance. I think the further the object the more chakra he'll need and more time is needed. He was able to absorb sasuke's arrow because his chakra didn't have to go far to create the s/t hole, he made it in front of him and just let the arrow run into it. With Madara I'm sure he'll have to use it from a distance, therefore his chakra would have to travel near madara to open the hole, madara would then absorb the chakra and stop the jutsu..

Or could go the easy way. Make susanoo, kakashi would need time to warp that, but madara would use those spinning projectile tomoe things to kill kakashi. Kakashi wont be able to constantly absorb those. >_>

Because the object that is using the chakra to make the s/t barrier is the MS. The other jutsus have a physical mass and require chakra to be expelled from the body. Kamui only requires the user to channel chakra into the MS. The MS creates the barrier which only appears when there is enough chakra for the MS to use.

If the chakra has to be expelled, then anyone could do the technique by simply expelling their chakra and then folding it in upon itself into another dimension.

And since Kamui is not instant but takes a little time to absorb objects, Madara will have enough time to act. And if you think that someone who combines the EMS, Rinnegan and Mokuton can't use a reasonable counter, you must be naive.

And I don't know if Kamui is working on Edos after all, their soul are bound to the world and we don't know if it is going for other dimensions as well or for the humans only, so an Edo Tensei will always appear again since his soul is bound to the earth.
