Ok so I have seen just about every (Enter name here) VS. (Enter name here) and Itachi vs. Minato (the two most popular characters it seems) is the one people love to flame over who is the best on. So I would like to see how this goes.
Minato's skills
-Flying Thunder God = Allows him to telerport himself and anything he's touching to an area that the FTG seal is also on (ex. Naruto and his mother, Kurama, to Tobi)
-Rasengan = Arguably the best physical justu. Requires no hand signs and has the capabilities to utilize many different types of Chakra (ex. Wind Chakra, Sage Chakra, several movie variations)
-Has increadible taijustsu skills, as well as being the fastest ninja alive (ex. prior to his death he battled A, A saying that he was indeed faster than him)
- Toad summoning = This one is self explanatory. Essentially he can summon all the other Toads as well as Gamabunta (ex. His battle with Kurama, he used Gamabunta to keep Kurama down)
- Dead Demon Consuming = This one ultimately resulted in his death, and he was able to use the Death God's arm at a much higher level than the 3rd Hokage. (ex. He used the Death God to seal Kurama's Yang chakra in himself, then the Yin chakra, and a portion of his and his wife's chakra inside of Naruto.)
Now Itachi's turn...
- His infamous Genjustu skills = This is probably the basis of his fighting style. Whether it be from the Tsukuyomi or his Ephemeral (finger point) Genjustu, he has shown that he is more than willing to destroy your mind before your body. (ex. Kakashi and Sasuke falling victim to Tsukuyomi, causing Naruto great challenge when he trapped him in his finger Genjustu)
- Sharingan = Arguably the most useful technique that he has. It allows him to copy any technique, see the movements of others before they have performed them based on the muscle movements, and is the reason he can use his Mangekyo Sharingan moves (ex. There aren't a lot of him copying techniques, though I'm sure he has some)
- Mangekyo Sharingan (to be refered to as MS from now on) = His most powerful asset. This allows him to use Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susanoo as well as Izanami. We see he is the first in the series to have this technique, so it remained in mystery until Part II. (ex. using Tsukuyomi on Kakashi and Sasuke, Amaterasu on several opponets even other fire, and his Susanoo)
- Tsukuyomi = I've talked enough about this one for everyone to understand (ex. Kakashi and Sasuke primarily)
- Amaterasu = The black flames which consume nearly everything. It is unquenchable until it has burned what it has touched to nothing. (ex. The wall of the Frog's Stomach in Part I, fighting Sasuke in Part II, Sasuke using it during his battles with the Kage)
- Susanoo = An enormous energy surrounds the user in the form of a person. This is accomplished after the user unlocks both Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, and thus is the most powerful. Itachi's particular Susanoo wields the Blade of Totsuka and the Yata Mirror, which the Mirror can utilize all Nature transformations. (ex. battle against Sasuke he seals Orochimaru using the Blade and Susanoo, Sasuke during the battle with the Kage and Danzo, Madara battle against the Kage)
- Fire-style of the Uchiha's = This one is also self-explanatory, we've all seen Fire- Release and it's uses.
- Izanami = This technique is still being seen to it's full potential, we do not have the necessary amount of information for me to make an accurate assumption on what it does exactly. i would direct you to the threads "I understand the Izanami" and another that I can't remember the name of, but is a good theory.
.......................................................................................................
Edit: It was brought to my attention that there needs to be a landscape for this battle. Let's keep it close to home and just go with the same field that was used with Minato's battle with Tobi.
Now let's assume that Itachi can't use Izanami as this battle would be a quick battle. I'm not saying that either one is stronger than the other, but both would know the other's reputation and would thus want to try and defeat the other as quickly as possible.
They are both free to use whatever justu they have (except Izanami) and are not hindered in any way, whether by disease or otherwise.
I can't say who I honestly think would win, because I believe them to be too equal in strength, skill, experience, and technique.
(This is also my first thread, so feedback would be greatly appreciated!)
