i knew there was going to be more to him just from his first appearance in the manga and how no one could touch him.. when he first showed his sharingan i was blown away im not gonna lie and i did think about obito for a little cus of the one sharingan opposite of kakashi but because he diddnt act like he knew him and then said he was madara i dropped that thought and was leaning more of him truly being madara's brother only to be brought back full circle to obito lol

What did you guys honestly think of Obito when he was JUST tobi before you even knew he had sharingan when he was supposedly Deidaras bich? I knew his character had great importance in the story cause it's usually the characters you least expect but I never knew he was gonna be this important

He seemed like a very funny character which was very uncharacteristic of such a serious organisation. That coupled with the mask told me that he was a suspicious character from the start.

At first I thought he was just a funny character. Then when he was cut by Sasuke but did not die, and when he was fighting the leaf ninjas the first time and none of them could hit him, I started to wonder how this guy was. But I never thought he will be this bad of a guy. I thought he will always be the funny bad guy.

Never thought about him, but he certainly was one of the funniest Characters and I loved seeing him.
I remember the fight vs Sanbi (3 tails, I hope I wrote it right or a huge shitstorm appears!).
He was on this rock and like *hight toned voice* "Oh they are fighting, I better wait here and watch this"
The voice itself was making it so fun already, but somehow I was wondering what his purpose in Akatsuki was
and I wanted to see him fighting as everyone in Akatsuki was insanely strong.

When I first saw him, I thought it was Obito - after all he appeared soon after Obito was introduced in Kakashi Gaiden. And there were those typical hints - his mask having a hole where Obito's original eye should be, name similarity, etc.

Then I stopped believing this after he said he was Madara... but I still suspected he had Obito's eye, considering how Kakashi's Kamui and his s/t ninjutsu were similar.

After it turned out he wasn't Madara, I returned to my theory that it was Obito all along. And I was right. U_U

When they said he died, I was quite sure he didn't die, since we would have seen more of him. Also wearing a mask.. It was pretty obvious there was something special to him. Though in the start I thought he would just be some weirdo like Hidan that was gonna give the story something new and funny, cause Naruto was really lacking humor in part 2, and still is, sadly.. Especially when u compare to part 2, but funny tobi didn't last long

would be more fun if he was that way all the time actually, but still able to be a huge thread.

Honestly I had the feeling he would play a big role later and that he was much stronger than he seemed. Actually his goofy personally seemed like it was meant to portray someone strong who just pretended
to be weak. I remember that I was shocked when he revealed himself as Madara. I was like "Whaaat? He doesn't seem to match Madara's character in any way". Then when we got to see he wasn't actually Madara
my first instinctive thought was Obito xd And then of course as time progressed I actually started doubting it would be Obito because it would be too obvious.. and then it turned out my guts were right

I thought he was way stronger than letting on. I mean, ALL of the Akatsuki members were portrayed as pretty mysterious before you see them in action, and they were all very powerful. I knew Tobi had to be powerful because he was in Akatsuki. Did I know he was the main villain? (arguably, could be Madara, or even Orochimaru in the future) No, I had no idea.
