As you stand alone in the isolated training field, the sky darkens and storm clouds gather until an intense lightning strike occurs mere meters in front of you, creating an explosion of bright light and electricity. Once the dust cloud begins to clear, the silhouette of an approaching man can be seen.

Lightning is generated by high frequency vibrations of the users chakra.
Lighting is strong against Doton. That is because it can easily travel through the ground and break it apart. As Sasuke has shown us through his fight with Deidara, it can also react with C(1,2,3,4) bombs in such a way that it cancels it out completely, rendering it useless. It can also be used in combination with Suiton to increase the power of the Raiton based attack, or vice versa. Raiton, although good against Doton and with or against Suiton, is weak against Futon due to wind being a natural insulator of electricity.
Also, as Sasuke Uchiha demonstrated, using natural lighting via storm clouds created by natural means or the heating up of the atmosphere via Katon, lighting can be tamed and used to the user's advantage if skilled enough.
There is also an advanced form known only to some Kumo ninja such as Darui known as Black Lightning. That being said, Raiton is very common among the members of Kumo compared to the other villages.
Lightning is a good idea if you're looking for piercing damage.

Wind Release is the element that allows us to create and manipulate wind. When you think of wind you think of something that is fast, free flowing, unpredictable, and strong. In the Narutoverse and in our RP, wind release has a variety of different properties which makes it versatile in its own right. For one, we have the ability to create long and short powerful gusts of flowing wind. Mainly these techniques that are designed to provide resistance against oncoming attacks, reversing the trajectory of weaponry, etc. We can also create short concentrated/compressed bursts of wind that give a pseudo solid form which can be used for blunt force or strong impacts. These would mainly be offensive in nature. There is also vacuum or suction power that can be generated, drawing objects in for close combat or sucking away the oxygen for suffocation. However, one of the more prominent abilities of wind release that we’ve come to know from the Narutoverse is the powerful cutting power that it possesses. Mainly from characters like Naruto, Asuma, and Sora, the wind nature has been shown to be able to slice and cut through things like butter. Wind is the movement of many gases in the air, though we’ve been shown to manipulate just the air itself and call it wind release by comparison due to the relationship. Unlike other elements which come and go with time, it is an ever eternal presence in the environment which endures all types of weather regardless of how harsh conditions become. Earth can be used as a shield or blockade defensively to dissipate the force of powerful waves of water or non-cutting gusts of wind. It can withstand great heats, acting as a heat sink but also as a physical barrier to prevent weapons passing through. As well as the conventional uses of the element, the mud variant can be used to bind opponents in place, clash with other elemental jutsus or be used in many effective combinations. The mud-variant is most commonly used along with Fire to form pseudo-lava (molten mud), making for a very dangerous substance. Alright, now we will begin with the basic techniques of Lightning Release. Come over here and stand right next to me, cup both of your hands together, but leave a substantial space in between them, as if you're gripping a small spherical object like a ball. Focus your raiton chakra to this location, envision high frequency chakra being generated in between your palms and attempt to tame this wild force of nature, making sure it doesn't get the better of you. Once you stabilize the small amount of lightning chakra, connect your wrists before pushing your hands forwards and outwards to emit the chakra as a small bolt of lightning towards that central dummy five meters away from you, attempting to strike the bull's eye located on its chest.
Key Points: Pay close attention to every jutsu's range. This jutsu is short-ranged and won't travel very far. As a reference point, here's what the actual measurements are.
Short Range - 0 to 5 meters away from you
Mid Range - 5 to 15 meters away from you
Long Range - 15+ meters away from you

As your palm strikes the ground, release the built chakra as a surge of lightning which travels across the ground and direct it towards that group of interconnected dummies doused in water. If you do this correctly, the lightning should conduct into the first dummy and spread along all of the dummies, shocking them collectively.
Key Points: This requires you to slam your hand on the ground, and so can't be used in mid-air or without a solid surface to stand upon.

Sasuke walks towards Kakuzu and stands next to him, facing the dummy which is a mere 5 meters in front of him. He cups his hands together, but leaves a gap in between his hands. Sasuke then imagines the flow of electricity coursing through him. As he invisions it, he starts to feel the movement of chakra to his palms. Focusing his Raiton chakra there, he can feel the high frequency and potential lethality of this element. He feels the lightning within his palms, and feels a slight shock.
You are right, this isn't going to be the easiest to control.
Soon after, Sasuke thinks of his future goals. He knows he must conquer this element. The Raiton chakra feels like it has stabalized, as Sasuke no longer feels the shock. He smirks, and connects his wrists together, joining the chakra from each hand into one. Staying calm and collected, Sasuke breathes, focuses on the dummy, and forces his hands out towards the dummy, aiming for the bulls eye and hitting it dead center.
Wow... That, was amazing... Lightning truly is my favorite element. Now, for this next one...
Sasuke quickly does the same thing he did in the last jutsu, focusing his Raiton chakra to his palm, although this time, it is just to his right hand. It feels stronger, because it is all going to one area, rather than two focal points. He grins menacingly, and imagines a certain someone as he slams his hand onto the ground in the direction of the front standing doused dummy. The lightning travels through the ground being that it is a good medium, and strikes the first dummy. At this moment, an electrical show can be seen by the domino effect that it had on all the dummies connected to the first, hitting every one of them.

Perfect usage, it seems Raiton may be your specialty.
(Ration: Ikazuchi Kashou) - Lightning Release: Thunder Burn
Now, I'd like you to focus your raiton chakra in the same manner as before, only this time envisioning the element in its wave-like form. You will not be releasing bolts of lightning, but rather a wave with the same potency as the first technique you learned. The difference between the two techniques other than their form is, that water conducts waves more efficiently than it conducts projectiles.
Key Points: In our RP, there's something known as "focused" and "unfocused" lightning. Focused lightning is extremely condensed lighting which has some-degree of form and structure due to shape manipulation e.g. my Lightning mask's False Darkness, Sasuke's Chidori, his Chidori spear and so on. Unfocused lightning is the polar opposite, it usually lacks any sort of structures and comes in the form of waves or surges. The Lightning surge jutsu you just learnt and ran across the floor was a good example of unfocused lightning. It was wild and didn't have a defined shape.
Some claim, you can actually use focused lightning attacks under water, but I'm skeptical of this idea and have never tried it out.
(Raiton: Sandaa Saaburu) - Lightning Style: Thunder Saber
For this 2nd technique, I want you to generate an electric field shield around your body before releasing it towards those dummies over there. Target the largest group, since on contact with anything this jutsu will explode into a small maelstrom of lightning with enough force to knock them back a considerable distance.
Key Points: This is a close counterpart to the next technique you learn. The vagueness of the technique isn't useful, however I assume this one is the projectile-type electric field and the one you will learn next is the one which encases your body similar to an armour.
(Raiton: Raijingu Sanda) - Lightning Style: Raging Thunder
For this 3rd technique, I want you to focus your chakra once again and envision the electric field shield you just fired. Generate the same type of shield around your body, using it to cover you, much like you would wear a suit of armour. Don't waste any time, it could prove to be fatal.

Key Points: Nothing really. A nice concept, but at D-Rank its not that useful in battle. A B-Rank plasma version exists, if you like the concept of this jutsu, you'll love the plasma shield.

-I focus my chakra. As it builds, I channel it to the palms of my hands. Then, I hold out my hands towards the opponent, releasing the built up chakra. Upon being released, I use nature transformation to transform my basic chakra into that of Raiton, giving it the characteristics and properties of electricity. After transformed, I transform the shape of the chakra I released via shape manipulation, turning it into a wave of lightning.-
I did it! Moving on.
-In the same manner, I build up chakra and channel it to my palms. I then imagine myself being encased in a lightning field shield, as I throw my hands out to their respective sides. Upon doing so, I release the built up chakra, and transform it into Raiton. Using shape manipulation I make the lightning form a shield around my whole body. I focus my aim I that lot of dummies. I smile, and I then release the field of lightning at the dummies, where they explode on impact.-

Ah, I'm not too faimilar with this particular technique. To perform it channel your raiton chakra to your hand before manipulating it to generate electrical bolts around your forearm. Once you successfully do this, jump into the air before slamming your palm onto the ground, causing the built chakra to discharge itself. The resulting effect will be lightning bolts being sent into the ground and five meters in every direction.
Key Points: Believe it or not, but the jumping portion of the technique is useful against evading small-scale attacks. You could simply hop over them before slamming your hands onto the ground and continuing on to attack your opponent with a single maneuver.

-I focus my chakra into my right palm while also performing these hand seals- Tiger, Snake, Dog. Then, using nature transformation, as I release the chakra I transform it into Raiton, giving it the properties of Lightning. Immediately after, I use shape manipulation to make this Raiton chakra form into an unfocused electric current that can span over short to long ranges as well as attack multiple targets and avoid obstacles.-

I particularly like this technique, now that I've re-evaluated it. Focus your lightning chakra into this sword to increase its cutting capabilities before utilizing your chakra to levitate it in front of your position. Next employ a mechanism similar to the one used to create clones, doing this to generate two extra physical copies of the sword. Now, cause them to spin rapidly before pushing your dominant palm forward (dramatic effect) to send the three lightning infused weapons towards those dummies over there. Attempt to behead those three dummies standing in a line.
Key Points: Since the two copies created are physical and real, I don't think they'll disperse afterwards. Nice way to duplicate the amount of weapons you have. When combined with the Shadow Shuriken Clone technique, this will make 1000 lightning infused swords.

Now I want you to release your raiton chakra into every chakra point in your body, whilst envisioning an armour of electricity enveloping your body. Attempt to replicate this in reality, coating yourself in a armour of raiton capable of withstanding attacks. While you attempt to do this, I'm going to cause C-Rank spikes of earth to emerge around you, which will impale you should you this task. The damage won't be fatal...well, for your sake I hope it won't.
Key Points: This is a good defense against B-Rank and below techniques which attempt to connect with your body. However, only use this against small scale b-ranks such as spikes and projectiles used against you. Be realistic in this technique's usage.
