Obito is a poor villain.

Judge a villain by his character and not just by what he does. Obito is very one dimensional "I don't want to be anybody", he's too damn plain. Obito using the aliases Tobi and Madara made a much better villain but now? Nope.

Madara isn't the best villain but he's a decent one. He's very proud and disconcerned with others and has plenty of style when he fights and has shown an aura of overwhelming presence before now.

As a villian, Orochimaru trumps them both as he is by far the most charismatic.

That's beacause he has lost hope in the reality .

The actions responsible for warranting Obito his villain status were all done under the alias "Tobi" he was using throughout the course of the series; "Tobi" is essentially Madara's legacy. Everything Obito did up until Nagato betrayed him were all Madara. It was Madara's name that shook the world and allowed Obito to do the things he did (including, dragging the world into a 4th war). It is exactly like Tsunade stated.

You may say that Madara is merely a bitter old man, but the very same thing could be said about Obito. He was a bitter loser, who kept losing to Kakashi in everything, and then suddenly decided to turn his back on the world because a little girl—that did not even have the same feelings he had for her, mind you—died.

Obito as Tobi was basically Madara's persona.It was Madara's name that cause the whole 4th war to commence.
IMO you must be a pretty good villain to make people afraid of your name alone.Obito is meh he's alright i guess.

Lol they're both crappy villains compared to Blackbeard. I don't feel any emotional resentment towards obito or madara which make there be a lot less tension behind the fight. At least in OP, main characters were killed by the main bad guy so u hate his guts. If obito had killed anyone important like kakashi or bee, I would think of him as a way better antagonist. However I do like him more than madara, madara is just a powerhouse who doesn't care about anything other than fighting, obito is an evil manipulative bastard, who caused this entire war in which 50,000+ shinobi were killed and almost all tailed beasts were captured, just because he used madaras name, doesn't make madara a better villain.
