Hashirama can't be placed under genjutsu, ITachi has to control HAshirama chakra, which is too powerful to control, espically if he is in Sage mode, think about it.
Let me tell you why Itachi > SM Hashirama.

There isnt any proof he cant be placed under genjutsu everybody can its abou being able to react to it or breakout. Itachis manipulayes time and space. Hashi doesnt stand a chance since it takes a second or 2.

That's a possibility....though I said that they had an immense amount of respect for each other. To the point that they didn't use techniques that quickly lay waste to an opposition, they fought to test each others might, or mettle. In a way of like friendly competition....though this is my opinion. Kurenai can have all the respect she wants....it is the respect for the one you're fighting is what I meant. This was just concerning the two....
For example if we were playing chest, and we both knew all the most surreptitious openings...and we decided to play without those due to them being very crafty and quick to defeat one another, just out of respect. That is how I meant it....
Of course genjutsu is fair, though I feel Madara didn't use it on Hashirama because he felt it unfair as far as their friendship went. It's why I put it in parentheses...of course no disrespect. This is just an inane opinion that I have. ^_^ Kind of like how Goku fought Vegeta in the mountain area without going into Ssj 3 to not end the fight quickly. Of course I could just as easily be incorrect in my assumption.
