Less marriage in naruto

This, marriage isn't really a theme that Kishi likes to focus on. When he does mention side characters from Naruto's class, we only know about at most one parent for each person. For example Shikamaru and his dad Shikaku are both featured in the story, but Shikaku's wife isn't. We know she exists though because he's referenced that she wears the pants in their marriage.

Hell, it took 500 chapters to figure out who Third's wife was and how she died. Kishi never had him mention her once though because she wasn't important at the time

To be fair, there isn't much time for romance. Being a Ninja has the potential to be a very short life, especially with war breaking out as frequently as it does.

To that end, if many parents are ninjas, they could end up dying while on a mission/war and unfortunately leave their children behind. Hence why we see so many orphans but not much romance/marriage.

Pretty much, Clans are the only ones that are seen with marriages.
E.x Shikakau and Yoshino, Choza and his wife, Fugaku and Mikoto, Even the Hyugas. And I'm pretty sure Shibi is in there somewhere. We just haven't seen his wife yet.

Minato did marry Kushina.


In general, It's the ninja world. Most ninjas would be lucky to live past their fiftieth year. So if your not in a clan, why bother marrying if your just going to die and leave behind your wife and kids?

Haha jk but I think the main reason why there hasn't been that many weddings in Naruto is because it's not really that important to the storyline.

actually i just saw shikamarus mom 3 episodes ago (im rewatching part one) in episode 100 something when they are about to go after sasuke and shikamaru and his dad are eating breakfast and his mom is nagging them, then he asks his dad why he married such a grouchy woman. then the door is knocked on and she answers the door. then you had both of sasukes parents as well when they were alive.
