Chapter 8 - Wind or Fire?

Did you forgot the previous chapter? Re-read it!

Sleeping on the floor of any rainforest is a certain suicide, and it's even a bigger danger sleeping on the floor of the Sun Country's Rainforest. 'The Green Trap' is home for many deaddly animals, and most of them have the right size to crawl on you, and kill you in a sudden. The Natives know that well, and thats the reason why they built their utopia on the trees. They aren't 100% protected, but they have better chances...

Oil crossed the crowd to reach the circle of the trees surrounding the meddow. He found some vines and decided to climb them. After he surpassed the first level of the trees foliage, he found himself on a wooden platform.

Oil Eyes -What the ...

A few surviving sun shines made the trees acquired a divine glow. And, of course, the marvellous exotic birds flying around were making it unbearable. From both sides of the platform, suspended bridges were conecting multiple other platforms, describing a huge ring around the meddow. Oil could see an upper ring on the foliage above.

Oil Eyes -This must be the Lower Ring...

He was right. The Lower Ring was home for most of the population. most of the wooden shacks was hidden in the foliage, in perfect balance with the nature around.

Some children passed by Oily, running. He followed the kids.

They circled the meddow and Oil stopped as they jumpped out of the platform, in front an enormous waterfall. He hurry to find out where they went and he found them playing on the river that continued the waterfall. The kids were exelent swimers and the strong flow of the river didnt seemed to bother them. Or the waterfall.
He turnned his head and tried to see the beggining of the water. It seemed to be falling from the upper ring.

Kiwii woke up on a bed of white sheets, at the floor level. The walls of the shack were decorated with huge paintings. The use of natural warm colours, such as orange, red, brown, give the room a much comfy feeling. They didn't had a very solid image, it was all on the base of flows and feelings. Now and then there was this image of a blurry animal or fruit, but the main idea was to inspire the viewer.

He got out of the house and he saw the platforms. There were some towers that penetrated the ceiling of leaves above, but there were no upper ring. Kiwii was on the top. he rushed to the fence across the platform and leaned to the meddow, far beneath. If the view weren't breathtaking already, the natives decided to decorate the buildings in the most beautiful way possible. The ornaments on the wood and the silks pending from the walls complemented the dreammy view. But he soon noticed the amazing temple on the other side of meddow. The layers of roofs were finished by a row of bone spkikes. Each floor has a garden filled with exoctic plants, and the rich silks on the walls were floating on the wind. But the most impressive was the river that falls from the top of the major roof. From both sides, the river circles around the platforms and the falls to the other rings.

Presa was standing behind Kiwii. The amazing feline was wearing a brown armour of hard leather that covers the back. The same material protected the back of the legs aswell, but still leaving plenty of space for him to move. He had a single sword wrapped in bandages on his back, with small wooden charms and feathers.

Presa -Where the hell are you looking at?! We're late already! Move, slug!

He seemed to be smirking from his own joke. The 2 fangs were amazingly sharp and big. He had matching claws. So this is how a warrior looks like...

KB was laying on the roots of a gigantic tree, far from the Utopia. This was the trainning grounds where his sensei, the previous Leopard Guru, used to train him. He felt a little depression on his stomach as he tried to revive his memory. His tutor was his friend, his best friend.

Suddenly, the large yellow cat felt on top of his belly. Correction, his second best.

The goat beard of the leopard got near the face of KB, as the old cat leanned closer.

Fauno - They're comming. It's time to get back to work, lazy bum.

As the 2 figures got closer, the human stood up to high, and slammed his head agaisnt a branch. Both felt on the ground. The first because of the strike, the second from laughing.

As KB watched the episode, a large smile openned on his face. I found a very an exelent sucessor

Fauno -Enough now! It's time to get serious.
.
The voice was firm, but the face was gentle.

Leopard Guru - Kiwii, as a Leopard Guru, you must master the skills that define us: Leopard Quan, Elemental Manipulation, Weapons Mastery and Leopard Summoning. You've allready mastered the first one, our Taijutsu style. Now we must work on that Chakra release. As a member of our tribe, you must choose between our 2 elements. Fire!

AS he said the words, he raised his arms to the sun and released, with a roar, 3 huge tongs of fire.

Fauno -Or Wind!

The old leopard jumped from tree to tree, with feline agility and with the speed of a gust of wind, surrounded by a a whirlwind.

With his mouth wind open, and the jaws on the ground, Kiwii released a sound similair to the human language.

Leopard Guru -Great Choice! Lets begin!

Comon... It was obvious. Find out wich element he chose on the next chapter: The Rivals
