It should be good enough to run most games at High settings with good dps and allow me to work, right?

I was going to go with the other model with the 2GB graphics card but It seemed like it was way less to work with.

I asked around and was told the one with the 2.60 GHZ wasn't worth the extra amount since the difference was so low between the two.

How big of a gamer are you, at what kind of work do you plan on doing

Tbh, yeah it should run games fine (depending on the game).

I got into FFXIV ARR and purchased Unity on steam. So i'll be playing between those. I'm also anticipating Tekken 7 and Storm 4 on the pc.

Other than that I won't be playing anything else.

As for work, nothing too major. I think if it can handle games it should be able to handle what i'm doing.

The only problem I see is Unity. That game has some very poor optimization and even high-end gaming rigs were hitting 10 fps in some parts. the other games should run fine.

That sucks. I heard Unity had issues with performance but I thought my laptop was just bad.

Unity can't even sustain constant 60 fps on GTX 980, it's just poorly coded, like most ubisoft games are, they have the most shttiest PC ports so you're gonna have trouble with their games. Sorry about that, but your laptop is fine to run almost any other game, I suggest trying shadow of mordor.

Most people prefer portability. Maybe he wants to play old/current games only and is not looking for something future proof? He might also use it on the go. It's self preference really.

Enjoy Unity on 10-20 fps. If you were going into gaming real hard, then you could throw away the portability and build a pc. You could build a pc better than this Lenovo laptop with a budget of 600$. The laptop is nice however, but it's quite expensive. If you are in need of portability and gaming, then is a worthy choice.

Unity is unfortunately, very badly optimized for the PC. It barely crosses more than 30 fps on even high-end pc's. You need a 970 to run that game.

I guess I won't be playing Unity then, lol.

By future games, do you mean 1-3 years into the future or games like the upcoming Witcher 3, Arkham Knight and Mortal combat X

I'm sure you could run all of those games above with the specifications you presented. But most of the upcoming games are helluva a lot demanding.

I'm not so big on gaming with ultra settings.(mostly because i'v never had such a chance to play on it except once) As long as I can play comfortably with around 60fps (even on medium) i'll be content with that. I plan on getting a Desktop later down the road anyway. Probably around 4 months

What's with the price? I got several e-mails from IGN giving me a 300-400$ discount for this exact same laptop, does it no longer have discount?

The Sale ended unfortunately. It was a March Madness sale. It started a week or 2 before the sale ended (which was the 25th of march).

It usually retails around the 1,500 price range
