This is a re-post from another thread, I think it would be better if this theory had it's own thread though.
My prediction of how the mask was broken was correct surprisingly.
I have made a great theory, of why Izuna Uchiha would be Tobi.
Now, this is a late post about this, I kept this and thought about it in my head for about a week.
Alrighty. Let's start with what we know about Izuna.
Both of his eyes, we're ripped out by his brother Madara Uchiha, correct.
Also, he wasn't confirmed 100% dead...
(That's all we need to know)
Alright, let's start how this leads up.
Sasuke and Orochimaru arrive at the battle field, splitting up.
Ororchimaru goes towards Tobi, and Sasuke goes towards Madara.
This makes sense because The five hokages are having some damn serious trouble with Madara at the moment.
How will the mask of Tobi fall off? I'll explain that now. As we saw, on the last panel of Naruto Chapter 597, Naruto was speeding towards Tobi.
At his speed, it's enough to reach him with Tobi being completely unaware he'll hit him so fast, that his mask will break off.
But it won't exactly happen like that...
Naruto will launch and extend his arm towards Tobi, with a tailed beast rasengan-like attack. It obviously, goes through Tobi's mask. Kakashi uses his jutsu to send Naruto's bomb towards "Obito's Dimension", and Naruto brings his arm back toward him, hitting Tobi on the back of the head.
Tobi's mask shatters, and he rolls off some where. Kurama instantly notices, that person is Izuna Uchiha.
Orochimaru arrives at the battle, also remembering him sometime before he joined the Akatsuki. Izuna also remembers Orochimaru, and then Izuna explains how they know each other.
It has already been confirmed that Tobi has Nagato's rinnengan, and Obito's sharingan. This is how Tobi got Obito's sharingan. Tobi, hired that rock ninja (Or who ever) to kill Obito. Izuna came after the incident, and took the remaining eye that Obito had on the other side of his body, that was crushed by the boulder. Tobi had already met up with Orochimaru in the past, and asked him to implant eyes that aren't in use into him. This gave a good connection in the relationship between the two, and Tobi promised to give Orochimaru a good present sooner or later.
Years later, when Orochimaru and Tobi re-unite, Tobi asks Orochimaru to implant Obito's eye onto his left eye. In return, Tobi will teach Orochimaru impure Resurrection. (This was soon before the time Orochimaru was in Akatsuki).
This makes good sense, because Tobi/Izuna was assumed by me, to be alive around the time the second hokage died. Who killed the second? Izuna. (Also copying his Resurrection jutsu. Orochimaru, at the time implanting Obito's eye into Tobi got information on the power of the sharingan from Tobi, which is where Orochimaru gained interest for the sharingan.
Tobi gets what he wants, Orochimaru gets what he wants. They part they're ways. (This is where Orochimaru joins Akatsuki to attempt to take Itachi's eyes.) Orochimaru learning the resure jutsu. from Izuna/Tobi, makes good sense even more. Izuna gained DNA from the Second Hokage, and shared it with Orochimaru (which is used in the fight between Orochimaru and the Third Hokage).
Tobi, before the white rinnengan mask had his right eye covered until he took Nagato's rinnengan.
This makes very good sense that Tobi, is Izuna uchiha.
He lost both eyes in the past, and he gained two eyes in the future.
We've seen part of Izuna/Tobi's face, it was old and wrinkly.
It may have been confirmed that Izuna Uchiha eventually died in battle, but...
How did he battle without eye sight? It could be a small error in the plot, and it should be. If he did die, Madara could've revived Izuna and made plans with him while he still had chakra from the kyuubi left. This is how Madara would've actually died. He probably thought it would be a good trade if he revived his brother, and for taking his eyes.
Back into the present, Tobi flees from the fight, and meets up with Madara.
Naruto, Kakashi, Gai, Killer Bee, and Orochimaru all chase after Izuna.
This, makes A LOT OF SENSE.
Sasuke isn't handling Madara as well as planned, but he isn't doing bad either.
This is where every one meets up.
The five kages, Naruto, Killer Bee, Orochimaru, Kakashi, Gai, Izuna, Madara, and Sasuke.
The final battle is here.
Izuna stands by Madara, telling him he remembers the plan that they thought of, the moon eye plan. This is a really crazy idea, but I was thinking that Madara and Tobi would become one, a person that would have six eyes (reference to sage of six paths, or one eye. You'll see later.)
Three eyes would be rinnengan, two would be sharingan, and on would be a rinnengan with sharingan tomoe's. They would fuse with the Ten tails, all becoming one being, and have a epic battle with all the others. Either that,
OR
Naruto and Sasuke would team up, and fight Madara and Izuna (not fused).
I don't have much more to say.
