From what I understand, they are effectively simple weighted straps that are attached to the user's calves/ankles to go about a weight-based strength training that hones the users capabilities to their lower body. More specifically, these leg weights that are used by Shinobi are reinforced with additional weight through specialized seals that harness chakra as a medium for producing additional weight as needed to further advance the benefit of the weights to the user over time. The greatest amount of benefit comes after the weights have not only been worn for a considerable amount of time, but also after they are removed, freeing up the user's body to move freely without the added weight, thus allowing them to the increase their movement speed and the strength of their kicks.

Description: The Leg Weights used for Special Taijutsu Training with Added Weights are made through the application of a sealing formula to ordinary leg weights. The sealing formula is used to, through the use of chakra, increase the weight of the leg weights to the desired level. The seal can't be applied to anything other than the leg weights and its use is restricted to its original purpose. One can remove the leg weights but the sealing technique in them stays active indefinitely and can't be released. Additionally, the Leg Weights and their unique seal calibration makes them only usable by the ninja to whom they belong. They can't be sealed or stolen.

As instructed, they have been officially "on" for an entire month. What should I do next, then?

That's good. You should be used to them by now, I want you to perform a Taijutsu kicking technique while keeping the weights on. This will allow you to notice the difference when you have them on and when you remove them in the next exercise.

With a careful forward stance, Violet would take account of the weight that carried heavy at her calves, and thus the whole of her legs. While they were quite intense and made it difficult for her to take full advantage of her capabilities relating to her mobility and the fluidity of her legs, she was no stranger to becoming familiar and acclimating to new and otherwise clunky modifications to her appendages. As such, given the time she had taken to settle into her newfound added weights, Violet would do as she was instructed, pivoting her hips to bring her lower body to a sideward facing arrangement, lifting her rightmost leg with pivoting along her left heel, causing her right foot to flick upward and parallel to the line of her hip's height, carrying with it an otherwise average paced, yet impressively force-carrying kick at the open air in front of her. While she had yet to truly feel the strength enhancement from this training, she could certainly feel the difference in the weight carried in her movements, which was certainly a double-edged sword. It went without saying that she fully intended to take advantage of the favorable half of this particular sword..

That was very good, now I want you to remove the Weights and perform another kick. You can also do some running. Let's see if there's any difference. :lok:

However, this boost in strength and speed is completely nullified when releasing the EIG or when using any kind of movement speed enhancement technique or weight manipulation technique; they don't add up on each other.
Note: This can be used for either canon Leg Weights technique.

As instructed, Violet would proceed to steadily pace herself a few meters away from that of her instructor. After taking her placement, she smoothly, albeit carefully, bent forward, where she would then grab hold of the rim to her skirt, elevating it just enough to reveal the very same leg weights that she had been given at the beginning of the process. Once there, she flicked her other hand across the backs of both weights, letting them drop at her sides, where they would make rather abrupt cracks in the ground from the mere inches they fell from her legs; an indication of the true weight held within them..

Once she was free of their limitations, Violet had then begun to bunny hop on one foot, feeling the sheer ease and fluidity of her movements now that she was no longer restrained by the additional weight. With a slow inhale, Violet positioned herself squared up as intended, as she had done once before, pivoting her hips opposite of her torso before lifting a leg in a sideward sweeping kick that now carried with it an impressively more devastating strike, one that was not only quick and difficult to track to the naked eye, it also came with a violent eruptive force that followed the trajectory of her kick, lashing outwards in a rupture of air pressure that rattled the earth beneath her feet.

Letting her leg steadily drop to her side naturally once again, Violet let out a soft exhale. From there, she then hunched forward, bending herself into that of a sprinter's prep posture, with legs and feet locked into a spring-jointed positioning, while her hands were planted in front of her, balancing her posture as she stared forward, eyeing the destination of a tree that was some distance away; where a normal walk would take several minutes to reach. With resolve in her eye, Violet would finally spring forward from her position, though instead of visibly moving beyond her initial takeoff, the very dust upon the ground around her had stirred into a raging gale. The ground surrounding her takeoff point splintered into webs of cracks as the storm of dust followed in a straight line between her original position and that of the tree, carrying her at twice her nature speed, moving faster than the eye could see, where she was now standing idly, a hand planted upon the tree's base, staring up upon its leaves as she contemplated her capabilities with this newfound extension in her limitations.
