I did read and then I replied, you have nothing to say about this so quit with this little provocative game when you can't even maintain your own credibility.

You may have read, but you also "caught me out" on something which was clearly explained in the original post in such a way that it was quite clear you didn't UNDERSTAND.

Gaara wasn't trying to keep himself alive as you say, the damages inflicted by lee we're not serious. Just go read the pages of the chunin exam when Sasuke chidori Gaara, this actually made him bleed, those were severe damages, not Lee's.

Oh, Gaara WASN'T trying to keep himself alive to exclusion of ANY other action during the course of the fight? So, making the Sand Armor, stated by Kankuro to be a very draining technique, WASN'T because he was at all pressured by Lee's speed? Reinforcing it to MANY TIMES it's original strenght had NOTHING to do with feeling like he might be in danger if he didn't?

He did indeed receive a scratch but the sand armor isn't resilient, its purpose is to absorb the impact, so no big deal here, what Lee did was nothing impressive.

Lee negated the Automatic defense, easily smashed the original Sand Armor, and NEARLY broke through the more powerful version. If he'd immediately used the Extreme Lotus, Gaara would have been dead. If he'd used the Extreme in place of the Initial Lotus, Gaara would have been at least knocked out. "Nothing impressive" indeed. You're either deliberately understating Lee's achievements or just not very good at seeing what's actually happening.

The way Gaara just walked away like he just took a nap proves what Lee did was nothing serious, Gaara was just messing around with him.
Gaara won and Lee had no chance.

Are you even serious?

Gaara was in the single toughest fight he had ever been in. TRY to explain that he wasn't, instead of just harping on about him not being injured. He was more injured than he'd ever been, and probably significantly more drained of chakra as well.

So, here's a punch from Lee, unweighted but otherwise unenhanced:
You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

A SINGLE punch with NO GATE ACTIVATED managed to completely remove Gaara's Sand Armor over a large portion of his face.

Here's Gai stating that the Initial Lotus is enough to break the Sand Armor:
You must be registered for see images

And seemingly with good reason, the Lotus causes large-scale destrustion to the environment, nevermind the opponent:
You must be registered for see images

But with the Fourth Gate active, Lee causes comparable damage with his FOOTSTEPS:
You must be registered for see images

That kick ALONE should have been enough to completely disintegrate the Sand Armor along Gaara's jaw.

And then there's this combo:
You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

Gaara should, by all rights, be reduced to bloody paste after all that. Unless the whole combo was WEAKER THAN A SINGLE UNGATED PUNCH, which seems to be the case:

You must be registered for see images
[/IMG]
You must be registered for see images

If you look at the aftermath of the Etreme Lotus, Gaara's Armor is ALMOST COMPLETELY INTACT. And he himself stands up a moment later, seemingly none the worse for wear.

That just seems wrong to me.

Whaddaya think?

P.S: Who else wants a minion they can legitimately shout "EXPLODE!" to and expect something awesome to happen?

you are right. Lee should have had him. he got plot no jut sued

You're stupid, Gaara activated his sand armor because his sand shield couldn't keep up with Lee's speed. So he had to. The scratch on his face means nothing at all it has been clearly stated that the sand armor isn't resilient and it's purpose is to absorb the impact.

If Lee used the extreme lotus Gaara would not have been dead, are you done pulling things out of your ass? The outcome would have been exactly the same, Lee would be half dead on the ground begging for Gaara to spare his life. Again, he didn't break through his sand armor with this punch, he just scratched it.

Who cares if it was Gaara's toughest fight to date? It still wasn't enough to even make him bleed or injure him at all. If Gaara used so much chakra then how come he wasn't exhausted at the end? How come he wasn't injured just a little bit? You want to contradict manga's facts little fanboy? He did bypass the sand shield and kinda broke a bit of the sand armor., but in the end he didn't even scratch Gaara.
Lee got fodderized, wether you like it or not.

Read the scans that you posted PirateFish. Lee's reverse lotus did less damage than his initial kicks because Lee used the sand from this sand gourd to protect himself which reinforced his sand armour's strength so at that point in time, Gaara's sand armour was a lot stronger than it was before. Still it was a close fight but Gaara's trump card prevailed over Lee's so he won fair and square but with high difficulty.

I definitely agree that there is some plot-interference going on here... in my opinion for the story's sake, Lee should have been paired up against Neji, and someone like Shikamaru or Chouji initially playing with Gaara. Shikamaru's fight with Temari was pretty righteous and served the storyline well, so I'd go with Chouji. How fun would it have been to see him tossing Gaara's sand ball around and then the armor dissipating, and having Gaara just own him, thus looking far more intimidating prior to his fight with Naruto?

I AM talking about the primaries, so some Shikamaru-ing could have been fun, too, but would definitely only serve to show that sometimes brawn DOES win out over brains. That's not what Kishi wanted, I don't think. Plus the whole why-would-Shiksy-fight-twice thing. Just musing.

In hindsight it could have gone either way. It was a close match; closer than most of the others and less silly than Naruto vs. Neji. I still think Gaara rightfully took this one, just because he was one of the main antagonists (can't have him lose, come on) and also to show that Lee has to work unfathomably hard just to keep up with people with raw talent and special abilities, thus enhancing his character further.

In short, Gaara.

you think you're funny kid

This is just to address you in front of the forum that you seem to think you rule--

I've seen you post a lot. I usually just keep my mouth shut when I have something negative to say but you need a serious brain/personality rearrangement. You are straight up obnoxious and I pray that for your sake you do not act like this in real life, cuz one day you're gonna get a serious facial into some rock hard substance, and it won't be Sasuke's 3-days later-hardened manmilk.

You are frankly, quite obviously very young, and therefore when retorting, addressing someone as "kid" is fantasy. So unless you truly are an unbelievably mentally unstable adult, then please take this advice: You'll be a lot happier if you're nicer to people and more logical in your opinion-forming (although I imagine for some people that just can't be helped... but I'm talking about the rude fanboy-ism), and much more well-liked if you just learn to do as I do 99% of the time, and just shut the #@$* up. What do I have, like 120 posts or something? I'm on this site every day. Learn from your elders... I'm only 22 but I deduce that you are definitely younger.

Edit: To be fair, you are reasonably intelligent, clearly. Not saying you're stupid. Just that you shouldn't start your posts with phrases like "omg you're stupid" and so on. The human brain has a function that causes it to stop the intake of information if a verbal or mental attack is made, thus making your entire posts useless to the person you are addressing. I hope you understand that I do not hate you, just think someone needs to tell you what's up.

There he is, our savior is here to save the day.
I suggest you mind your own business and shut your mouth as you always do (referring to your own words)
Do not lower myself to your level. You clearly don't know me and you're unable to judge me or my personality just by few posts on this forum.
I'm only being arrogant towards some idiots who don't understand what i'm telling them, the stubborn one, I can not stand them.
You don't know who I am, how old i am nor anything about my life so quit acting like your words are going to change shit about my attitude.
So yes, do as you always do and only post when you have something constructive to share with us, because that was unnecessary. Piss off.

a logical conclusion would be that once gaara realised his sand wall is useless, he pooled his chakra into strengthening his armor of sand, as that was the main defense against lee

And I suggest you learn how to read a manga properly because your answers give the impression that a retarded 6 years old kid is replying to me.

Lee's attacks were worthless, they didn't harm him, Gaara just had to wait until Lee worn out to make his move, Lee was not leading the fight kid.

Exactly the same way Minato would win from Sasuke! there you have it boy!!

OT: Gaara rightfully won, it's in his abilities to survive that much dammage :)

No it's completely different you implied Minato would just camp behind a tree and wait for Sasuke to worn out.
Gaara was taking the hit, it's a strategy that doesn't implies retreating so it's totally legit.
