It's an illusion that creates an object of want, vague in it's description which is mainly what I like.

Alright, so, the questions are:

1. The object of want, am I the one who guesses what that something is, be it a person or a actual object, or is that something that the opponent himself thinks? I'm just wondering if this allows us to have a sort of access to our opponent's mind or not. Basically, do we chose the object or is my opponent the only one who actually knows it?

2. The snare that catches my opponent, is it an illusionary snare or is it a trap that we set beforehand? Or do we set it mid-genjutsu (and the genjutsu also allows you to hide yourself from your opponent's sight)

1. It's something that the opponent thinks. The only way to know someone's true desire is to get it from the horse's mouth right? Or rather in this case the horses brain. If we were able to choose a random object it would defeat the purpose of the genjutsu because the opponent can just say "Hey I don't want that!" even if it would be a form of metagaming.

2. We set it mid genjutsu. Being able to access someone's mind and make them see what they desire most would in turn mask us after the genjutsu is casted. During that time the trap can be set. To effectively bait them into the trap, the opponent has to walk or fall on it. So the secondary effect of the genjutsu which the opponent would do him or herself (without metagaming) is to walk toward that target and fall within the trap.

Think of it like an uncontrollable desire. You want it, want to be close to it and want to do anything to get it. It's right in front of you so the most common thing to do is walk/run towards it. In reality, they run right into a trap.
