Fire Release (Katon) is one of the 5 basic nature transformations, it is made by making superheated chakra, usually from the mouth and lungs, but it can also be used on gunpowder, ash, explosive powder and throught weapons. Katon jutsus usually use the Tiger hand seal, the most commons jutsus are mid to long range technics that cause combustive and explosive damage, one of the hardest technics is to control the flames.
Fire is strong against wind, because wind increases the ammount of fire if the wind is weaker, its weaker against water, because when fire is in contat with water, the water cools it, turning into steam. Katon also can be used to generate storms, because of the heat, increasing the power of some Lightning (Raiton) technics.
Katon with Suiton makes, Boil Release, Futton, making a power vapour by the fire combusting the water.
Katon with Doton makes Lava release, Yoton, that creates lava that can be used for a lot of purposes
Katon with Fuuton makes Scorch release, a really hot chakra capable of evaporating the liquids inside the body.

Turning around, Itachi sees more dummys on his left, he gets 2 shurikens, holding them with his left hand, he does the process of nature manipulation on them, then he trows them at the dummys, before they hit, he thinks of them burning, and then the shurikens start igniting into orange flames.

Not bad. Here's something a bit different. Perform the Snake, Ram, Monkey, and Tiger handseals before exhaling flammable gas at your target instead of fire. Ignite the gas with a fire jutsu to create a large fireball and set him ablaze. Find a dummy nearby.

Try the second jutsu again. Specifically, the part where you release a projectile fire attack from your limb with movement. You're missing that method.

Itachi tries again, he start molding his chakra while he moves into the direction of the dummy, as he is right ahead the dummy, he focus his chakra on his leg, changing its nature to fire, then he dashs and releases the fire in the direction of the dummy.

For this jutsu, simply throw a lighter with a open flame and focus katon chakra on it, making the flame expand into a defensive wall of flame. Take this and block my attack.

That's better. Here's a jutsu that comes in two forms, a burning trap and a projectile. After performing the Tiger handseal produce and manipulate fire streams running across the ground. They should surround the target in the form of a circle preventing escape. Alternately, with the same Tiger handeal, a fire stream can be exhaled and manipulated to form a ring-shaped fireball. Use both forms on this guy. Can't have my dinner getting away.

Next, attach a long cord-like object to your target and perform the Snake, Dragon, Rabbit, and Tiger handseals. Then breathe fire along the cord causing the flames to rush toward and incinerate the target at the other end. The best method is to trap your target with ninja wire so it can't possibly miss its mark. Find a Pein around here.

For this jutsu simply perform the Tiger handseal and exhale a fire stream. Nothing new. That guy looks cold.

Description: The user first performs six hand seals Rat → Tiger → Dog → Ox → Rabbit → Tiger and they create a volley of small fireballs, which are sent flying in an unpredictable manner assaulting the enemy. In addition, the flames are controlled one by one with chakra, so avoiding them all is extremely difficult. Shuriken can also be concealed within the flames, creating an unexpected secondary surprise attack. Like the flames, the shuriken can be controlled with chakra.
