Hashirama, it's a honor to meet you, but somehow strange that I will be the one teaching you wood. Now tell me the following please, and I except allot, from you.
- What is Wood?
- What are its weaknesses/strengths
- Known users that specialize in wood from the anime/manga.
- What Element do you get if you combine it with one of the five basic elements?

1.Wood is combining your earth and water chakra to create trees, pillars and many other things made out of wood. it is a very versatile element, being able to create almost anything you can imagine. It is the unique KG of hashirama senju but others have accessed wood jutsu through his dna.
2.Wood is weak to lightning, neutral to wind and surprisingly fire. Wood techniques are strong against earth, water and bijuu techniques.
3.User of wood in the manga include Hashirama, Madara, Danzo and Yamato. While Zetsu and obito have been shown using the root form of wood release.

Alright then! I will be teaching you Wood in the following method;

Listen up; You can perform wood technique's whenever you want, on the ground, in the sky it doesn't matter you can always perform wood technique's, but If you where Yamato then you would be able to let wooden things erupt from your body, like when you perform a A-Ranked wood technique, you could easily say that you let the wood erupt from your arm/head/leg etc, but Hashirama can't.
Anyway, wood is extremely weak against lightning, you can't let lightning travel trough wood since it would pierce trough it as you mentioned before, however if wood get's in contact with fire, the wood will continue as a wooden thing covered with fire, let's say that an S-Ranked technique wood technique get's in touch with a B-Ranked fire technique, the wood would continue towards the one you are aiming it on, but the wood wouldn't be able to travel from a short range distance to Long range, since it would collapse in ashes, it could be possible if it was from short range to mid range.

As you know, Wood Release is the combination of Suiton and Doton to create an entirely new element (Wood). So I want you to begin by sitting on the ground and meditate. As you meditate I want you to focus on both Nature Manipulations. I want you to begin to focus your Suiton and Doton chakra into your left and right arms, respectively. Give it a shot.

Good, good. Now, I want you to clasp your hands together. As you clasp them, I want you to begin to combine each of the Chakra Natures. I want you to evenly fuse the different natures, until you have a stable combination of the two. Do not add too much of one of the Elements. If you do, the chakra will be unstable and will harm you if you attempt to use it. This is the most sensitive part of the training, once you pass this part the rest is pretty easy. So like I said, attempt to evenly combine the chakras.

Hashirama nods to his teacher and then continues. He makes sure to even out the amount of chakra in his hands so that there is the same amount in both. He then slowly clasps his hands, keeping his chakra stable as he does so. Harashima then begins to focus both thewater and earth chakras together into the middle of his palms, he does so with even quantities of boh chakras. He continues to combine the chakras until he has quite a big amount and then the chakras finally fuse togther. Harashima then focuses on his chakra control to keep the new chakra combined and stable, until he feels that he has it under control.

I want you to think and imagine life in its most natural state. Think about anything that has life and manifest the feeling into the chakra. The imagery should allow you to produce the life giving element, Mokuton. This will create tiny roots from the ground. Simple enough, now give it a try.

Hashirama listens to his teacher and then nods, being careful to keep his hands together and chakra regulated as he listens. He then slams his hands upon the ground and focuses his built up chakra into the earth, releasing the mixed chakras. As he does so he focuses mentally on small saplings and trees as they sprout out of the ground, the first and most natural state of life that he could think of. He tries to focus upon this image in his mind as he releases the chakra, trying to put the feeling across into his chakra, as he attempts to make small roots.
Alright then, Mix your earth and water chakra as you were trainined then channel it into the ground until you are capable of forming a small pillar of wood and afterwards, I want you to spin around it and kick it as my water clone tries to attack you.

Focusing his doton chakra into one hand and suiton chakra into the other, Hashirama pushes his two chakras into the ground just in front of him. He mixing these chakras together in the ground, forming the life giving element, Moukton. With this he manipulates his Moku chakra and creates a small pillar of wood that rises up in front of him. So as your clone attempts to attack Hashirama, he spins around the pillar and kicks your clone, dispersing him back to water.

[*]How can the technique be used in battle (combos with other moves/skils, creative use, etc);
Its a good simple projectile technique. Useful for putting pressure on your opponent from a distance and thus keep yourself out of harms way at the same time. Combo's well with techniques that trap the opponent, leaving them unable to dodge as the stakes fly at them.
[*]Limitations of the technique;
Its a very obvious technique and not very subtle, it won't bring many surprises to your opponent. The stakes also do not cover a very wide range, making them simpler to dodge.
[*]How to counter the technique;
Any strong earth wall for example would block the stkes from hitting you. You could also use a wind jutsu to smash the wooden stakes as they move towards you.
Use some wind with this one, to make the them travel faster. And remember that once you use this, your opponent might use the same and re-direct the stakes back at ya!
(Mokuton: Moku Henge) - Wood Style: Wood Transformation

Description: Creates a wooden transformation.
To do this, I want you to first build up a large amount of Doton and Suiton chakra into your hands and mix it together. Then I want you to focus the chakra through your feet and into the ground beneath you. Then I want you to make multiple thin pillars of Wood rise from beneath the ground. Then as they surround you, you need them attach to your skin and then make them take the shape of whatever you want them to. This is the same concept as the normal transformation technique, but this one is more solid, since that one is more of an illusion, this is the actual using a layer of wood to change your appearance, as seen when Yamato created the Puppet Hiruko(spelling) and it didn't just poof away when he was hit by Kabuto. So the main focus is to reform the wood into the desired appearance.
