*A gust of wind blows through the terrain, causing the surrounding trees to gently rustle, pulling off a small number of older leaves. As a leaf flies past Genkai's eyes, momentarily obstructing her vision of the terrain, a lone figure seemingly appears on the field as Genkai regains her sight. Her sensei had arrived*

Welcome, you're the lucky test subject. ergh... I mean, the lucky student who gets to be my first ninjutsu student xD

As you might know, the manipulation of chakra is an essential skill that makes up a large portion of the ninja's arsenal. This manipulation is a skill better known as Ninjutsu and it covers any chakra enhances skill, from tree-climbing to the largest fireball jutsu one can muster.

What can you tell me about Ninjutsu, how is one capable of honing their skills with it and how one accomplishes and feat of ninjutsu. Essentially, explain the chakra network and the balance between the two energies that Chakra is composed of.

I seem to be a lot of people's first lately. First Genjustu student, first Ninjutsu student, first dual training student.:| At least you never forget your first.

Quite the theatrical entrance sensei. I will draw on the little training I have and tell you what I know.

Chakra is a composition of energy. It is composed of physical, spiritual, and natural energy. All living beings have chakra that is composed of physical and spiritual energies. Physical energy is drawn from every cell in a persons body. Spiritual energy is drawn from a persons consciousness and controls the imagination. Both energies can be increased and honed through training. When natural energy is incorporated with a persons physical and spiritual energy Senjutsu chakra is formed. Chakra flows in a network throughout a persons body. In this network their are points that act as gateways for chakra release. By building up enough chakra in their body a person can release it through these chakra points. When this is done the chakra is on the outside of the body and can be harnessed for jutsu. The jutsu performed will depend on many factors some of which include the amount and type of chakra exerted and the shape manipulation of the chakra. When using chakra control is very important. Chakra control is needed to precisely mix and balance the energy needed for a jutsu. Bad chakra control leads to quick exhausting of energy and often times incomplete jutsu. Handsigns are used by ninja to better focus chakra for jutsu.

Ninjutsu are jutsu that are used to change the physical world. These abilities most of the time rely on chakra as a power source and vary greatly in type. Some ninjutsu abilities to name a few are nature transformations (converting normal chakra to elemental chakra), healing, space time travel, and the creation of shadow clones. Most ninjutsu with the exception of nature transformations are associated with specific clans. Ninjutsu are the techniques that distinguish ninja from other warrior classes such as samurai.

How was that sensei?

Excellent work!

and via control of this chakra, the ninja can accomplish seemingly impossible tasks, such as few things you covered... as well as water walking! I don't know why I thought I'd mention it, but I thought it was worthwhile xD

Now, before we start on any actual jutsu, I think it is imperative that you learn about some basics that can turn the battle in your favour, if used correctly.

Ninja tools; in our RP you may be aware that you are limited to only three jutsu per turn. If not, you are now aware of such a thing xD However, ninja tools can be used in abundance, cost no chakra and can be as deadly as the largest F-rank ninjutsu.
We'll start with the simple kunai, a slender and sharp, trench-knife. It has a loop at the end to attach things such as explosive tags. This is the most simple tool in a ninjas arsenal and the most commonly seen weapon, we've seen Naruto stow one away in his sleeve, attached to a recoiling rope, and we've seen ninja use it to go up against swordsmen.

I want you to thin a little and come up with some creative ways to use Kunai in battle.

Very well sensei. I'll do my best.

Kunai in my opinion are best used in combination with other techniques. It really serves no purpose to just openly throw them at an opponent because they are easily blocked that way. Used as a first technique they are a great distraction if followed up by an appropriate jutsu. As simple example of this would be if your a sensory type ninja to create a thick fog and then throw the kunai at the opponent. The opponent won't be able to see the kunai coming through the fog. The power and speed of kunai can also be increased with appropriate jutsu. An example being that wind jutsu can be used to increase the velocity of kunai making them more difficult to dodge. One technique that I'd would like to create or try is to stick kunai with paper bombs into the ground. Then I would use my earth chakra to pick up the slab of earth and hurl it towards the opponent. If the opponent tries to simply block it the paper bombs will blow up. One of the most unique ways to use kunai is for space-time travel like Minato.

I'm not really sure of applications outside of combining techniques with the throwing of kunai. Perhaps you can elaborate some more.

Also note that you can infuse your chakra with a kunai to increase its speed or power. Wind and lightning will increase the speed of the kunai, lightning will increase the cutting potential and fire will cause burns to anyone who touches it... other than yourself as it's your own chakra.

You can also use kunai for something called zoning; by thowing several explosive tagged kunai in your opponents path, they will be forced to jum out of the way or simply change the direction they are running in. This will give you some control over where your opponent moves to during a battle, keeping them away from you or keeping them away from something they can use to their advantage.

Now, shuriken. How would you use one in battle and tell me a little about how they work.

Interesting, I didn't know their was a name for making your target move a certain way by throwing kunai.

Shuriken are small metal weapons that are thrown at enemies. They are shaped like a star with 4 sharp spikes or blades protruding from their center. A shuriken is grabbed from an open circle at it's center. The open circle also helps the shuriken's aerodynamics. The most common type of shuriken are about the size of a kunai but their are also larger variations. One such weapon is known as the fuma shuriken which has 4 blades protruding from its circular center. The most basic use of a shuriken is to throw it at a person. This can be done to seriously injure someone or distract them in battle. Another common use for this weapon is in the making of traps. Thread or other materials can be passed through the hole at the center of the shuriken. This makes it possible to construct very elaborate traps. One such trap was used in Sasuke's battle with Itachi when he rigged a fuma shuriken with detachable metal projectiles. The projectiles were controlled by a thread attached to the shurinken and held by Sasuke. Shuriken like other ninja weapons can be stored in scrolls and ready to use at a moments notice. Tenten is a well known for using shuriken as well as other ninja weapons from scrolls. My favorite use of the shuriken was performed by McRazor in his sensei test when he blocked the eye sight of his opponent using a thick mist and then threw a shuriken near his opponent. He angled the shuriken so when it landed it made a dull sound and made the opponent think that McRazor had landed nearby.

Zoning doesn't just relate to throwing Kunai, it refers to any act where you attempt to control where you opponent moves or doesn't move to xD

Very good, you can also attach wires to shuriken to bind people in a similar fashion to how Kakashi trapped Sasuke against a tree just before the start of the Sasuke Retrieval arc... I think that's what he did anyway, can't remember right now xD
The most common way to use shuriken is just to occupy your opponent's vision, serving a a nuisance while giving you some time to form a few seals or ready a weapon etc.

This leads into a question about your opponents line of sight, as well as your own. Why is it important to be aware of your opponent's line of sight in battle?

I also see shuriken mainly used as a distraction.

A persons line of sight determines what they can and can't see. Any attack is going to be more effective if the opponent can't see it coming or sees it with no time to react. An opponents blind spots can be determined by knowing what the opponent can see both straight ahead and out of their peripheral vision. Once you know their blind spots you can attack them there. It is also important to know an opponents line of sight when defending yourself. If your goal is evasion then you should move to a place your opponent can't see. A lot of attacks are on such a large scale that they can obscure a persons line of sight. If someone knows this they can use it to their advantage. Knowing what an opponent can see is also necessary when setting up traps. A trap doesn't work if someone can see it. Their are many other advantages but hopefully this covers the basics.

Spot on, you also mentioned blind spots. Keep in mind a Byakugan's blind spot too when you come up against them xD

Tell me what you know of how smoke bombs work and how you intend to use them in battle?

I'll tell what I know but its limited. I actually haven't used a smoke bomb yet.

Smoke bombs are tiny bombs (mostly made of paper) packed with substances that explode when subjected to any kind of spark. Almost all smoke bombs have a natural trigger built into them. When smoke bombs explode they expel smoke and/or gas. Most of the time smoke bombs are used to temporarily blind and confuse opponents. They can also be used to conceal ones movement. I would use smoke bombs mostly to blind my enemy. On rare occasion I might use it to conceal my movements as I think their are better techniques around for accomplishing this. I could see smoke bombs being used by sensory ninja a lost since they can easily navigate through smoke. Smoke bombs can also be packed with poison gasses and sleeping powders but this isn't as common.

Very good, the sensor combo is indeed an effective use of smoke and the sensor ability.

So if you used a smoke bomb against me, I might try to counter with a wind jutsu to blow it away. You could then take advantage of this and release a fire jutsu, which would overtake my wind and continue on towards me.

Now describe to me the differences between Flash and Smoke bombs and their uses (flash bomb) in battle? We'll then move onto learning jutsu xD

Here goes.

Flash bombs are similar to smoke bombs in that they both affect a target's sight. The difference is that flash bombs cause a more severe blinding affect but the duration is a lot shorter than with a smoke bomb. Another key difference is a flash bomb is only going to affect your enemy, but with a smoke bomb smoke will disperse into the air and this will affect your eyesight as well if your close by. Unlike smoke bombs, flash bombs can't be used on yourself to conceal your movement. In essence you would just be blinding yourself. Flash bombs can be attached to the same types of weapons that smoke bombs can be attached to. The way I see it is you would use a smoke bomb if you wanted a longer but not as potent blinding affect on your target, and you would use a flash bomb for a quick blinding affect. The blinding affect of a flash bomb can occupy your opponent just long enough to create an opening and attack. Beyond distraction through blinding flash bombs don't have a use in battle.

Good, so the main differences are that smoke bombs generally conceal your movements, where as Flash bomb will create an opening as your opponent recoils from the blinding effects.

Nara Clan users are also pretty keen Flash Bomb users as they help extend their shadow's range.

For this jutsu, you'll need to have some needles hidden in your mouth, most likely in a small pouch on the roof of your mouth. Infuse your chakra with these needles as you open your mouth to send them flying towards your target.

(Fukumi Hari) - Hidden Needles
Rank: D
Type:Attack
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:20
Description: The user is able to call forth needles into their mouth and then spit them at their opponent with great accuracy.

Can you see any advantages to this jutsu or any disadvantages? Also, can you think of any combinations to use this jutsu with?

I think the advantage of this jutsu is if it's used in a short enough range (maybe < 1 m) it's going to be really hard to dodge. On the other hand the jutsu can't be used at mid or long range. You can aim the needles at any part of the target's body, but if the needles don't hit a vital part of their body (like the eye) this jutsu doesn't do much damage. Also if the target has time to defend this jutsu is easily defended against. If for some reason the needles become loose you will essentially have a bunch of sharp objects poking the insides of your mouth. I think this jutsu could be combined with wind for an effective combo. Wind could be fired from the mouth and increase the velocity of the needles. The needles can also be dipped in poison, but care must be taken not to get any poison in your mouth.

You won't be able to use poison without being a NB Med-nin unfortunately. You can also mix this in with taijutsu and other ninja tools to catch your opponent off-guard. Such as the Smoke or Flash bombs maybe?

(Kage Shuriken no Jutsu) - Shadow Shuriken Technique
Rank: D
Type:Attack
Range:Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:20
Description: Kage Shuriken no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing a giant Windmill Shuriken. When throwing the shuriken, the ninja will also throw a second giant shuriken to hide in the shadow of the first. The hidden secondary shuriken can then approach the target without their being aware.

You might remember this WAY back at the start of the series. You need two windmill shuriken which you will throw at the same time, one hiding in the shadow of the other. How might you use this in battle?

(Kanashibari no Jutsu) - Temporary Body Paralysis Technique
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short-Mid
Chakra:15 (-5 per turn)
Damge Points:N/A
Description: Kanashibari no Jutsu is a simple Ninjutsu technique used to temporarily bind an animal (or animals). With the target frozen in place, the ninja can either take the opportunity to attack or to retreat. It can only be used against animal (summons or not) and works by forcefully using your chakra to restrain the summon physically by holding it in place. It can, however, be broken by outside means or brute force, making it less effective against bigger summons like boss summons or similar.
Note: lasts only as long as the user is focusing on the target to sustain it.

This is a form of Killing Intent that works to paralyse animals more-or-less the same size as you. Simply send your chakra towards your target to freeze their muscles in place, allowing you some time to flee or maybe to interrupt a combo attack between your opponent and their summon.

Try it out on that lion that is trying to attack you .__.

The most obvious use of this jutsu is when Sauske and Naruto used it to rescue Kakashi. It was also used by Sasuke against Itachi. I think the best way to use this jutsu is as a distraction. Chances are your not going to hit someone with this but it forces the opponent to dodge or counter leaving them open for other attacks. You could also throw the shuriken and then you a wind tech to make them travel faster. Can I use this jutsu by throwing a higher ranked shuriken weapon maybe even perhaps a cw?

Genkai stares at the lion her sensei has unleashed. It stands but just 5 m from her. Genkai builds up her chakra and releases it through her chakra points sending it in the direction of the lion. As she sends the chakra she turns and stares at the lion with the following look,

As she does so she says,

The lion stands still frozen in place.

We can't skip ahead unfortunately, something Scorps is making sure we enforce.

(Sakki) - Killing Intent
Rank: D - S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: N/A
Description: Killing Intent pertains to the ability of the user giving off their pure killing intention and having it affect their opponent and others around them up to the point of paralyzing them. When the Killing Intent is particularly strong, it can even give the victim visions of their own gruesome death, nausea, pain, etc. This can cause the Killing Intent to be confused with a genjutsu, despite not being a genjutsu at all; simply a showcase of intention and power. The target will feel as if facing an overwhelming enemy and, even if not a sensor, will suddenly feel the pressure of the users chakra and its magnitude, making the effect that much more dramatic. To effectively be used, the user needs to focus on his target and concentrate on the killing intent towards it, meaning that one must see the target and be focused on it. The strength of the Killing Intent is dependent on many factors and go through several levels. If a difference in rank smaller than 2 ranks exist, the enemy will feel only the pressure and the ominous presence of their dark intentions. Its enough to lose your grasp on a weapon or stay clinched to it (depending on the situation) or even to hesitate in an attack, stumble or mess up a handseal, all depending on the situation and proximity. The effect is small and normally not that significant but can be effectively used to pressure enemies into making a mistake. If a difference of 2 ranks or more exist, the enemy will be frozen, almost unable to move as the overwhelming killing intent dominates their own conscious and riddles them with nightmarish versions of death. The paralyzation gradually weakens as time passes and can only be maintained while the user is focused on the target. The further away the target, the weaker it is and it can only fully paralyze a target within short range. Similarly, the more targets one focuses on, the weaker the effect is in each one (divinding the effects equally between the number of targets). Lastly, the stronger the user is in relation to the target, the stronger the effect will be. The target can counter Killing Intent directed at it through pain, "mind cleansing" techniques or their own Killing Intent.
Note: Intensity of technique depends on the rank of the user, distance to target and number of targets one is focusing on
Note: Can only be used once
Note: Lasts only while the user is focusing on it and while focusing on it the user can't mold chakra

Basically a more advanced version of the Paralysis jutsu you just learnt, in the sense that it effects Humans. For this you need to really tap into your evil emotions, or desire to kill the individual, projecting this purely through your presence to induce several differing effects of your target. If you are the same level, your target will momentarily feel this effect but will press on, may be enough to cause them to hessitate on a seal, but doubtful. If you are one rank higher than your opponent will loose focus on the hands seals or drop their weapon, but won't suffer anything too debilitating. For best effect, be short range of course, mid-range will allow them to shrug it off quickly.
If you are two ranks or more higher, than the opponent will (while being short ranged) be completely inundated with fear so long as you maintain this jutsu. Being mid-range the paralysis won't be in effect, but they will be unable to focus properly as they deal with the ghastly visions induced by this jutsu.

Simply ask any questions about this jutsu and imagine using this on a Jounin-ranked nin, short range from you.

(Ninpou: Gekka Bijin) - Ninja Arts: Beauty Under the Moonlight
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user will create a swarm of sakura(cherry blossoms)petals to surround there opponents and swirl around them causing confusion. The user can then attack there opponent from any angle they choose.Blinds opponents eyes for the turn this jutsu is used.

There is a genjutsu that produces the same effect, though it is only an illusion of course xD This one is real and will cost you chakra as you use it to swirl up cherry blossoms or leaves within a short range area of you. This is great to help cover your opponent's sight while you go in for a taijutsu or kenjutsu finisher, but the jutsu will fail if you try to channel chakra for another jutsu.
