( Kasunda Genjutsu ) - Illusionary Arts: Hazy Illusion
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: This is a simple and not to difficult to discern genjutsu. The user places the target in an illusion where they see the world around them heavily distorted, preventing the target from discerning his surroundings while within the illusion. The technique also gives the impression of the target sinking in quicksand and thus acts as a means to immobilize them slowly.
This genjutsu has two parts to it: A visual aspect, where the target is unable to clearly see their surroundings having them instead appear heavily blurred out. At the same time, the target will see themselves slowly falling into quicksand, serving to actually immobilise there legs, then torso, then entirely immobile unless they break the genjutsu. (Each turn trapped, means the target is immobilised more and more. 1st turn legs, 2nd turn torso, 3rd turn completely immobilised).
( Genjutsu: Shibari ) - Illusionary Arts: Binding
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C - A
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15 - 30
Damage: N/A
Description: A very simple yet powerful paralysis genjutsu. The user will cast an illusion which sole purpose is to restrict and paralyze he target. The technique can be cast on more than one opponent at a time, though with the cost of power. The stronger the user is in genjutsu determines how strong their technique is. Non-genjutsu specialists can only cast only use the C-ranked version of this technique and use it on up to two others making the hold D-rank for each individual person. Users with genjutsu as their secondary specialty can use the B-ranked version of this technique and cast the jutsu on a maximum of three people. Users with genjutsu as their primary specialty can use the A-ranked version of this technique and cast the technique on a maximum of three people. Members who specialize in genjutsu are immune to this technique being placed upon them on others with a lower skill level than them; i.e a users with a secondary specialty can't use this on a primary specialist, only those of equivalent rank or lower can be caught with this technique.
This relatively new genjutsu is clearly explained as far as I'm concerned. Any questions about how it works and I'll be able to answer them.
I don't need the template replies, more of an open discussion about your thoughts about the jutsu and how you might deduce it being a genjutsu. Unless you prefer the template replies, in that case, be my guest xD
1. Well for this jutsu description itself says it is pretty easy to discern. First of all user gets distorted vision out of nowhere which is a giveaway. Secondly the quicksand effect of jutsu is very terrain limited. Quicksand can't really appear out of nowhere. There are earth type jutsu to do that but that really doesn't happen at once. If you were fighting on a water or a rock hard terrain appearance of quicksand is also a daed giveaway of being in a genjutsu. Releasing is same as before, as it is a c-rank jutsu just pain infliction should release it, no need for kai release.
2. This jutsu's only aspect of interest really is that it has varying strength and can be used as A-Rank by genjutsu specialists. As for deduction if you are bound by some twigs or rope than you will try to cut or break them and if they don't really get cut you can deduce that you are in a genjutsu. Secondly there is a possibility as I understand from the description that opponent is just paralyzed and is not being held anything then it becomes easy to deduce since the opponent cannot move without any apparent reason and can deduce that he is in genjutsu. Releasing this one depends on the strength in which it is cast. If B-Rank or A-Rank a lot of pain would be required break which isn't really a good thing for the body so you can use Kai release method or full body surge techniques can be used to release the genjutsu as well.
(Magen: Nijū Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu) Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings Technique
Type: Supplmentary
Rank: B-Rank
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description:
The user will do a sequence of 3 handseals, putting his opponents under a double layered Genjutsu. The user is able to create false surroundings to fool his targets, much like the simpler version of the technique. However, the illusion is in fact layered. If the opponent manages to release the first one, he will then feel the effects of the second illusion. If, for example, the first illusion is that of a desert and the second that of a forest, upon releasing the first one, the opponent will see the desert fade away while the forest appears around him, making him think he dispelled the illusion while in essence he is still caught in one. Each illusion is equivalent to C-Rank and both are casted at the same time. While normal releases will release only one illusion at a time, a strong enough pain or an external source of chakra can dispel both at the same time.
This genjutsu introduces a canon example of genjutsu layering. Layering a genjutsu has some useful application but the example given in the technique description should be enough to cover the basics. You can have one illusion that has the terrain looking like one thing, target uses a genjutsu breaking technique (strong enough to break a C-rank genjutsu) then the terrain looks like something else; courtesy of the second layer of the genjusu... essentially this allows you to perform two terrain altering (visual) genjutsu for the price of one.
No questions really. I am familiar with the concept of Genjutsu layering and how to properly do it and not mess up ranks and stuff.
As for jutsu, pretty useful one. Making two illusions while using only one jutsu and then having to dispel them both separately is quite handy. But with this one I guess people will basically just opt to inflict pain on themselves after determining they are in genjutsu and would try to bypass the other one in RP.
( Konoha-Ryū: Yanagi ) - Leaf Ninja Art: Willow
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 35
Description: The user waves their sword back and forth, which when seen by the target locks them in a genjutsu which causes them to hallucinate multiple waving arms. The movement resembles that of a willow tree blowing in the wind. With the enemy off guard, the user is free to cut them down.
You need a sword to use this genjutsu, which you do by holding the sword pointing upwards, as you wave is side to side. That motion is the trigger as it will then look to your opponent as if you have multiple waving arms, putting them off guard. You can then use the sword to attack, being the quickest thing to do instead of using another jutsu.
( Genjutsu: Ingemame Ketsugō Sakkaku ) - Illusion Technique String Bean Binding Illusion
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: Similar to Illusion Technique: Tree Binding Death, the user will do the Dog → Hare → Snake → Ram hand seals and trigger an illusion where the user first disappears, while the target sees several bean vines growing from the ground around and beneath him. These vines bind the target body, lifting them into the air. Then a bean pod rises from the ground to reveal the user, ready to strike. In reality, the opponent is immobilized by the illusion, allowing the user to strike.
As it says, this is similar to Tree Binding Death; a genjutsu used by Kurenai against Itachi... which backfired... Anyway, I feel the description of this covers the jutsu, or at least anything I could possible describe at the present.
So you basically explained all about this one. It can be useful but isn't really that great of a genjutsu. Doesn't cause any pain or make the opponent unable to use the counter. While user is waving the sword opponent can easily attack him using any of element. Plus you need to have a sword which has to be mentioned in the bio. Personally I don't think it's very useful unless I am wrong...
Now this is a good genjutsu. Once it is placed it provides several benefits. It is hard to deduce that this one is a genjutsu since wood release has similar attacks. Second it makes the opponent think that his bound thus he cannot really move freely and makes him an easy target for attack. I have added an image to clarify that I understand how it works.
I'm not much of a Genjutsu user, so knowing what is useful is not something I can answer xD
( Magen: Hanarasui ) - Demonic Illusion: Flower Head Death
Rank: B
Type: Offensive/Supplementary
Range: Short- Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40 due to stress on the mind
Description: The user will trap the target within an illusion where the opponent appears to be trapped in a large flower bud which then explodes. The opponent is made to believe that an explosion actually occurred and collapses, believing himself to be injured. The resulting stress on his mind causes damage.
The description covers what this jutsu does quite well. Note that the damage is not physical, but mental stress... something Medical Ninja's can't really heal.
( Magen: Jubaku Satsu ) - Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, and appears to dissolve into a mist. Once they stealthily approach the target and get within short-range, the opponent feels completely immobilized, and believes they have been bound by a fast-growing tree and are unable to move. The user then appears as if they emerge from the tree to attack the target. In reality, the target is immobilized, allowing the user to strike or interrogate them.
All of this jutsu is executed in within Short-range of your target, meaning you'll have to be sneaky with pulling off the hand-seals and quick to act before they can pull off a genjutsu counter. Kurenai used this against Itachi, which he promptly reversed back onto her using his Sharingan.
Well this is a jutsu which is quick to perform and the opponent doesn't have much time to make a proper deduction that he is in a genjutsu. If the description about how you figured that you were in a genjutsu isn't proper that can be used against you via quoting. Secondly the damage is mental rather than physical which can cause problems later in a fight since it can be used against the person.
This is also a genjutsu that is similar to wood release technique making it hard for person to deduce that he is in a genjutsu. Plus the opponent thinks that he is immobilised making him an easy target for attacking.
( Genjutsu: Oshitsubusu Hebi Kubire ) - Illusion Technique: Crushing Snake Constriction
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user puts the opponent into a genjutsu which has snakes appear beneath the opponent to constrict them and with the users command, they crush the opponent. In reality, the opponent is immobilized and takes damage due to the stress on his mind.
A decent illusion that can trick your opponent into thinking they are actually trapped by a summoned snake. The key is to make it look as realistic as possible, for example by placing your hand on the ground to "summon" the snake. By you performing a hand seal, the snake will crush the target, causing mental stress on the target while keeping them immobile.
( Genjutsu: Hanaoka ) - Illusion Technique: Flower Hill
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user summons up illusionary purple flowers from the ground in front of them, damaging enemies with a chance to paralyze them.
Note: Paralysis lasts one turn.
Nothing special about this, just another paralysing genjutsu just with a different visual illusion to it.
( Genjutsu: Iwa Kōka Genjutsu ) - Illusionary Arts: Rockslide Genjutsu
Type: Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: This is a technique that can be cast on multiple targets. The user creates an illusion where their target(s) experience several explosions going off near and around them. The ground around and beneath the target(s) will begin to collapse and cause panic and mental damage from the perceived reality of the explosions. The technique, however, is weak when cast upon multiple targets as it only takes one individual to release the technique for large groups of people.
Note: This technique can be cast on multiple targets but when done it only takes one person to release the technique for all parties involved with genjutsu kai. However all members need to be within short range distance.
This is designed to trap multiple people in a genjutsu, causing them to panic as they feel the explosions and ground around them begin to collapse. Not sure why it mentions damage but has no damage value... that means this illusion in fact causes no actual damage to your target(s).
Not, that so long as your targets are within short-range of each other, only one needs to perform the Kai release to break them all out of it.
Also note, you can trap any number of people within mid-range of you.
This is a good genjutsu as it is actually useful. As you mentioned if user acts the part it can look pretty realistic and thus can be very difficult to deduce that it is a genjutsu and not an actual summoning technique. User can just constrict the opponent rather than crush them in a genjutsu and move on to next jutsu thus making it a good jutsu for next attack.
A pretty simple jutsu where it appears to the target that purple colored flowers have been summoned in front of him that can cause paralysis.
Pretty useless technique as it causes no actual damage and only can be used as a distraction and allow user to move on to next attack. If cast upon two or more opponents at once it becomes weak but can be useful as both the people will be feeling the effect of the jutsu and that can make it seem realistic.
( Magen: Chō Shinka ) - Demonic Illusion: Butterfly Evolution
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing the opponent in a genjutsu. The user then tosses a large number of explosive tags at the opponent. To the opponent, it looks as if they are countless butterflies. The opponent then believes they are sinking into the ground, in reality making them immobilized; this allows the user to place one final exploding tag on their forehead before detonating all the tags simultaneously.
Single seal that activates a genjutsu, making the explosive tags you throw look like a large swarm of butterflies. Your target will then be trapped in place as they begin to see and feel themselves sink into the ground (part of the illusion), which will allow you to place a final explosive tag on their forehead before retreating and detonating all the tags.
( Nehan Shōja no Jutsu ) - Temple of Nirvana Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing all the targets in the area under an illusion where feathers appear to fall from the sky. This slowly puts the opponents to sleep after one turn.
We saw this during the Chunin exams, it was the opening act of the Crush the Leaf plot where Kabuto used this to put everyone in the arena to sleep. In our RP, it puts the target to sleep on the second turn if they are unable to release themselves from the jutsu.
( Kokuangyo no Jutsu ) - Bringer-of-Darkness Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, causing the opponent to believe they have been trapped in a world of infinite darkness, where their sense of sight is useless. It is capable of affecting multiple targets within range. However, it does not negate their other senses.
Used against the 3rd Hokage during his fight against Orochimaru and the Edo 1st and 2nd Hokage's, this robs your target(s) of their sight by making them only see a black void. However, this won't effect the other senses of your target(s).
User performs a hand seal and places the opponent in Genjutsu, then throws a exploding tags towards them which appear to target as butterflies. the target feels like he is sinking in the ground and becomes immobile. Then user can go ahead and place a tag on his forehead. then get back and explode all the tags. Well you must know by now but I'll say that this jutsu is just a hassle. User has to get near the target and if he breaks the gen and just appears to be faking he can attack and cause serious damage to user.
This is also a very easy to deduce technique. Target can just use his drowsiness and falling feathers as a deduction point and break the genjutsu. Since it causes no damage and doesn't have an immediate effect it is basically a move lost.
This one also causes no damage and is pretty easy to deduce since all the other senses are unaffected but, it does however causes visual paralysis (Not sure if Visual paralysis is right term) and that can be used to attack the opponent when he is breaking the genjutsu.
(Genjutsu: Seidou Shiraha no Hato) Illusion Technique: The Sanctuary of the Feathery Dove
Rank: S
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After 3 handseals, the user is able to cast a genjutsu either on her/himself or on an opponent. The genjutsu pertains as the removal of harm and pain, giving a false sense of security, where there is none, by reattaching severed limbs or healing up wounds and burns or merely anesthetizing the opponent from pain. The illusion comes with a feeling as if the user has been coated by a soft bubble, like a feathery cushion, while seeing missing limbs being reattached, or wounds healing up or poisons being removed from the organism. The illusion makes it so that anything posterior to the initial cast of the genjutsu simple disappears or is bounced off from the skin, instead of healing, further adding to the false notion of security.
While it could be use to sustain wounds that do not put someone in immediate danger, being solely nuisances, the genjutsu could also cover up potentially fatal and paralyzing injuries, making its target careless and self-harmful. The genjutsu latches strongly to the opponent's mind, allowing the user to combine it with a second genjutsu, making the second genjutsu strong against physical pain releases, however, major pain stimuli (very deep cuts, strong burns, etc. ) will still break it.
Note: Lasts three turns at max.
Note: Can only be used twice.
Note: If used with a painful second genjutsu, there will be no pain involved.
Note: Can be used against opponent's genjutsu as a means to counter its effect, up to the rank of the technique.
Note: Genjutsu specialists or doujutsu users can cast against 1 rank higher.
Note: Courtesy of Lili-Chwan.
Originally a cj donated to the canon list by Lili-Chwan. This CJ aims to target the central nervous system of the target so that they no longer feel pain from injuries or other genjutsu that afflict them after this genjutsu is cast. It also affects the mental processes of the target so that the sight of a severe injury, despite no longer hurting, won't but them in a panic.
This genjutsu can still be broken by using standard release measures (Kai, full body chakra surge and major pain to break S-ranks), though you would still need to In Character reason why you need to use a genjutsu release.
It is a very useful genjutsu. Like in our recent fight which I conceded , I was going to reply that The wind jutsu broke my rib, normally that would cause problems further in fight since I would still feel pain and stuff, but if I was under this genjutsu I wouldn't even feel the pain and that would allow me to fight properly despite the injury. Though it can be useful but that is only to a point, It can also be very dangerous since it will also make the person oblivious to serious injuries that can be life threatening. What is great about this genjutsu is that it can be used on user himself as well, plus you can use this genjutsu to negate the effects of other genjutsus which is great for someone like me who doesn't like genjutsu. Not that I am going to use it but that is all......
